Introduction Top
As a POA gold player, I have experienced a lot in vainglory. Now I believe I can help some new players how to play this game professionally and teach them as much as possible. As one of the community, I feel proud of being one of us. Why am I helping you? Because when the game begins you better start running, So here is the question I leave it to you: are you running from something or towards something?
About Me
Hello there, My name is Luosen.. goes by the ign of well.. Luosen. My current rank right now is pinnacle of awesome silver, highest rank is pinnacle of awesome gold. From the 1 year experience, I have encountered a lot of bad builds.. There are hybrid Krul, Hybrid BF, and wp Petal, I am so.sick.of.these.cringeworhy.garbage***.builds. So I gathered a bunch of meta builds from all over the championship and hopefully you can learn something from here.
^looking at this build is like having a fever dream, This build is the famous "Hardcore Sniper Guide", The highest rated Ringo build, what do you want me to say? I am speechless, I believe the sniper stands for you snipe your elo and giving them all to the enemy team.
^This is the highest rating guide: "Krul: The Juggernaut Build", im trying to not cringe right now. He should rename this build: "Krul: the **** sucking"
The Halcyon Fold Top
The Halcyon Fold
The Halcyon Fold is the place where the main events comes to place, there are two opponent teams, each team contain 3 players in total. Your objective is to take down the enemy vain crystal, which you must destroy all the turrets first before destroying the crystal. There are 3 roles in general: the Jungler, Carry(Laner) and the Captain(roamer, support). If you choose to be a laner, your job is to get as much creep score as you possibly can, so you can out farm the enemy laner and have a huge advantage when team fighting. If you choose to be a Jungler, your job is to kill the enemy laner as much as possible so you can out level the enemy team and your laner get fed more. And you need to leave most kills to the laner because each enemy kill at least give you 300 gold. If you choose to be a support, you have to save your laner so he/she doesn't get killed by the enemy jungler, and you can also choose to save your jungler depends on the situation. there are 2 paths of item build: weapon power(your basic attack damage), utility(support or defense) and crystal power (your ability damage). Your team need to have one wp hero, one cp hero and one support hero. If your team is going double weapon power/crystal power, the enemy team will build double armor/shield, and that is really bad for your team because once they finished the second defense item, your team will do way lesser damage and will get easily countered. If your team is missing a support, you will have a huge problem of staying alive. When the enemy team is doing way too much damage to you, you need a support to heal you, give you fortified health and make your life easier. A support can also slow an enemy hero down, silence the enemy team (they can't use any item/ability) or slow the enemy attack speed depends on the support's build. A good support can save the entire team and help the team engage, fall back and gank.
Scout Trap Placements
Scout traps are mines that provides you vision once you place it down in a bush. It can act both as a scouting item and damage item, it explodes and does surprisingly high amount of damage when you step on it. But never use scout traps as an actual damage item, because scout traps does way lesser damage once you have defense, so you are wasting money. Just like flares, scout traps can also detect a hero's presence when he/she is going invisible in that bush. So it is extremely good at warning your ally that an enemy's location.
here is a map of the locations you should put scout traps in.
The Jungle
The Jungle is a place that covers most of the map, it is right below the lane. You gain more experience than gold. If you choose to be a jungler, your job is farm as quick as possible, so you can out level the enemy team and gank the enemy laner as ASAP. Jungle is also a very good place to fight for some certain heroes like alpha. Because in small space, it is really really hard to dodge her A and when she is low, she can use her A on a minion to run away.
The Halcyon Lane
The Lane is the place on the upper part of the map, you gain more gold than experience. If you are a laner, your job is to get fed as much as possible, push objectives and survive the frequent ganks from the enemy jungler. There are about 10 minions(creeps) coming in every minute. So if you are in high rank, you need to at least have 10 farms in every minute, and if you are really good at farming, you can get over 200 farms in only 17 minutes. There is a trick of farming on lane: you don't use your ability on the enemy minions, you wait until your minions lower them until their health bar turn red, then you get the last hit. You can also let your minions die as much as possible because if your minions die, the enemy laner will not get any gold at all.
Quoted:
"I have suffered enough, goodness is just make believe" -Krul
Krul is the king of ganking. He can be both the most op hero or the worst hero depends on how you play him, he is a jungler (if you haven't figure out what a jungler is just pls go **** yourself), which means his main duty is to take down the enemy carry so your carry can get as fed as possible (DON'T PLAY WITH BAD CARRIES WITH KRUL BECAUSE HE WILL FALL OFF WHEN PEOPLE STARTED BUILDING ATLAS FOR HIM). And with this hero, welcome to the jungle m8 :)) SO.. why not squishy krul? YOU WILL NOT EVEN SURVIVE UNTIL YOU HAVE FULL SMITE STACKS AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART IS THAT PEOPLE
WILL BUILD ATLAS FOR YOU NO MATTER WHAT..
Abilities (Krul) Top
Shadows Empower Me (Heroic Perk)
Krul is empowered by the shadows after standing still in brush for 1.5 seconds. Once empowered, Krul briefly gains 2 move speed and his next basic attack will slow the target by 40% for 3 seconds.
Quoted:
The perfect heroic perk for ganking people, it is so good when you combo it up with dead man's rush (your A) and
Atlas Pauldron/
Shiversteel to get sudden burst and stack up ASAP.
Dead Man's Rush (A Ability)
9/9/9/9/8|45/50/55/60/65
Krul dashes to the target, deals damage and applies basic-attack effects. Activating Dead Man's Rush grants Krul a health barrier for 2.5 seconds.
DETAILS:
Basic Attack Damage: 160%/160%/160%/160%/160%
Crystal Damage: 0%/0%/0%/0%/0% (70% Crystal Ratio)
Barrier: 100/180/260/340/420[/color] (125% Crystal Ratio)
Duration: 3/3/3/3/3
Quoted:
The broken ability of Krul, the fortified health is really tough after the buff in version 2.1, and it works really well with Krul's heroic perk when you combo it up.
Spectral Smite (B Ability)
13/12.5/12/11.5/10|45/50/55/60/65
Passive: Basic attacks & abilities apply Weakness for 4 seconds (up to 8 stacks) with a 0.5% crystal ratio. Each stack reduces the target's damage by 6.2% and increases Krul's lifesteal against the weakened target.
Activate: Detonate the stacks to deal damage and regain health based on the number of stacks consumed.
DETAILS:
Damage: 100/150/200/250/350 (50% Crystal Ratio)
Damage/stack: 20/35/50/65/95 (20% Crystal Ratio)
Heal: 40/60/80/100/140 (35% Crystal Ratio)
Heal/stack: 15/20/25/30/40 (20% Crystal Ratio)
Lifesteal/stack: 12.5%/12.5%/12.5%/12.5%/12.5%
Quoted:
Krul's only damage output, ALWAYS overdrive that first. You NEVER use the spectral smite EVEN if you have full stacks, Why? because you gain more lifesteal hit AFTER you have full stacks, so if you use it after you have full stack, you will loose ALL of your lifesteal AND all the weakness stacks on that enemy, YOU DON'T WANT TO DO THAT UNLESS YOU ARE SUPER LOW OR ITS A GUARANTEED KILL. And the more wp damage you deal per hit, the more damage your smite will deal. So WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE FULL BP STACKS AND SMITE STACKS, YOU WILL PRETTY MUCH ONE SHOT THE TARGET.
From Hell's Heart (Ultimate)
80/65/50|55/70/85
Krul pulls Hellrazor from his chest and hurls it in the targeted direction. The sword will boomerang back to Krul after reaching max range. If the sword hits an enemy hero, it deals damage and stuns, then slows the target. Damage and stun duration scales with the distance the sword traveled before hitting the target. (50% at point blank range, 100% at max range and up to 150% at 'boomerang' range).
DETAILS:
Damage: 350/500/650 (100% Crystal Ratio)
Slow Duration: 3/3.5/4
Stun Duration: 1.8/2/2.2
Quoted:
This ability is a support ability, and it is extremely hard to use when you are in POA level (a place where pretty much everyone knows how to reflex block), only use it when you are sure people won't block it. And you can gain more stacks when opponent is stunned. The best way to stun someone with it however, is to throw it backwards and stick up to the target, it is extremely hard to do though.
Items (Krul) Top
Starting Items (Krul)
The starting items you usually buy for krul is usually a
Swift Shooter and
Weapon Blade. Because your weak early game damage, you have to rush that
Breaking Point. Or you can get an Oak Heart if you are the type of player that rushes
Stormcrown as first item.
Core Items (Krul)
After like 10 minutes, you have probably already clear the jungle around 5 times now. You should be able to get your
Breaking Point or
Stormcrown, now you can kill a lot of people because the enemy support probably did not finish his/her
Atlas Pauldron. You don't technically need a reflex block, but get it anyways because it saves your life, you should also get a tier 2 boots and tier 2 defense by the 10 minutes time mark.
Late Game Items (Krul)
After like 7 team fights, you may have your first and second damage item finished. I recommend you get a
Poisoned Shiv and
Breaking Point, because
Poisoned Shiv gives you lifesteal and when you hop on people, fountain is useless for the victims. Or if you don't need a
Poisoned Shiv, just get a
Bonesaw because
Bonesaw gives you insane amount of attack speed and pierce. If you are the type of player that rushes Stormcrow first item, get a breaking point for basic stacking. There is one thing for sure though, you have to get double defense as Krul.
Optional Items (Krul)
Get that
Stormcrown if you want to be super fast at pushing objectives, replace
Tornado Trigger with
Bonesaw if people have no defense on you, and get
Shiversteel if you can't chase up to the enemy team, if you want more damage, you can always get a
Sorrowblade.
Item Build Order (Krul)
ALWAYS get
Breaking Point,
Sorrowblade or
Stormcrown first tier 3 item, if you want to farm get
Stormcrown, if you want to kill people ASAP get
Sorrowblade, If you are trying to win a long battle then get
Breaking Point. Second tier 3 item really depends on the situation of the game, if you are getting rekted, then get a tier 3 defense. If you are rekting people, get
Poisoned Shiv or
Bonesaw Depends on the situation. The third tier 3 item really depends on the situation too, if you are still getting rekted, you need to consider getting another tier 3 item. If you started rekting people or rekting people from the start, then get
Tornado Trigger,
Poisoned Shiv,
Shiversteel,
Slumbering Husk or
Bonesaw depends on the situation. If you finished the third item, you should consider building defense if u finished damage build first, consider building damage item if you finished defense build first.
Complete Build (Krul)
If you are doing really good the entire game, your build should be
Breaking Point,
Poisoned Shiv,
Bonesaw,
Atlas Pauldron,
Aegis and
War Treads. If you are getting bursted really easily by slippery heroes like
Vox or
Ringo, get
Breaking Point,
Shiversteel,
Slumbering Husk,
Atlas Pauldron,
Aegis and
War Treads, if you are still getting melted, that is your mechanic problem. If you are facing really tanky heroes like
Blackfeather or
Grumpjaw, you should consider getting
Sorrowblade,
Breaking Point,
Bonesaw,
Atlas Pauldron,
Aegis and
War Treads.
Gameplay (Krul) Top
Early Game (Krul)
As Krul, one of the weakest early game hero, YOU HAVE TO PLAY PASSIVE, or you die. Get
Weapon Blade and
Swift Shooter first. Go to the mids and TRY to steal the giant minion. If they are too aggressive, just give up the mid and go to your backs. Because the first kill is really important, so don't give that 300 gold away.
MID GAME (Krul)
After 4 clears of jungle and probably 1 kill/1 death, you should have your
Breaking Point. After you get your
Breaking Point, YOU ALWAYS RUSH DEFENSE. After you have at least 1 tier 3 defense,
Breaking Point and
Travel Boots, you may do a little engage just to get more gold. You still need to play a little passive though..
LATE GAME (Krul)
You finally reached level 12, now you are getting SUPER tanky and sticky, you are pretty much immortal. Nobody can kill you, unless you get atlased by their support. NOW, get
War Treads or
Journey Boots depends on the situation, and finish your damage build. After you finished building everything, try to pick up a fight or two because the enemy team is unable to kill you. If they got distracted far away from Kraken, just solo the kraken if you have a storm crown.
Kiting And How To Play Team Fights Correctly (Krul)
Quoted:
hello, my sweet sweet children who suffered through the toxic camp of LuoLuoChan (Luosen). My name is P4ndors and welcome to the strategy of how to play teamfights correctly.
Krul is a skill shot hero. tbh, he is one of the few heroes in the game that doesn't need any damage at all whatsoever, so from the very start you should know what to build. If you doesn't know the build order yet, check the previous article of item order. Krul is the hero that is pretty much made to gank people and destroy squishy enemies, as a jungler, your job is to gank the enemy laner so your laner can get as much farm as possible. And with Krul, your job is to hop on the enemy that does more damage to your laner, the weakness debuff is really overpowered, so if you atlas the enemy and apply weakness to that enemy at the same time, he/she will lost pretty much all of his/her damage.
How to play him during a team fight? oh first you have to charge up your heroic perk, it is really important to do that and combo it up with your Dead Man's Rush. Then decide who do you want to focus down first. Once you decided to focus down the enemy, throw your ultimate backwards of where the target are. Why? because once you hop on the target, the boomerang will come back way faster than you throw it, that makes it 2 times as hard to block with a reflex. then you use your shiver steel atlas then hop on the target, Why use atlas before Dead Man's Rush? because after you use your atlas, it took 2 seconds to activate, so you use before hop on the target to reduce the time so when you hop on the target the atlas will activate immediately. Even if they block the atlas, the boomerang will get him/her. Then you studder step the stunned enemy to stack faster (only focus one target at a time), once the stun stopped, the enemy carry is already half health. And your laner will probably focus that enemy too so he/she will have pretty much a quarter left. Then you use your smash, you will one shot the carry and get pretty much all of your missing health back. Then you charge up the heroic perk again, use
Shiversteel and
Atlas Pauldron then hop on the second carry. and if your support is smart, he/she would use
War Treads to give you an extra speed boost, and your
Shiversteel and heroic perk will completely disable the second enemy carry. Remember, never use your smite unless you are about to die or its 100% of killing that enemy, because the smite cost a lot of cool down and energy and you loose all of your basic attack life regen/weakness debuff on that target.
Koshka Top
Quoted:
"You can't catch me, I'm made of gingerbread" -Koshka
Koshka is the ultimate hit and run assassin, she is the type of hero you definitely don't want to face against in the first 15 minutes into the game. Good thing is she falls off fast soon after the kraken has spawned, because when it comes to team fights she is not that good of a hero. But she will 100% two shot you if you did not bother to build shield against her, even if you have early shield. Her extreme
Broken Myth stacking speed combo up with
Aftershock still does horrific tones of damage.
Abilities (Koshka) Top
Bloodrush (Heroic Perk)
Koshka gains 2 move speed for 4s whenever she deals damage with her abilities.
Quoted:
The heroic perk perfect for hit and run, it is very simple but you can escape very easily with koshka because of this heroic perk giving her speed boost every single time when she uses a ability[/i
Pouncy Fun (A Ability)
9/8.5/8/7.5/7|30/35/40/45/55
Koshka dashes to the target enemy and deals damage.
DETAILS:
Damage: 75/130/185/240/350 (130% Crystal Ratio)
Quoted:
You can hop on people very easily with this ability, it works pretty damn well with her heroic perk, you can use it as a engage ability or fall back ability, because you can jump on the targets that are really far away with this.
Twirly Death (B Ability)
8/7.5/7/6.5/6|40/50/60/70/80
Koshka twirls, damaging all enemies around her. Her next 2 basic attacks within 5 seconds deal bonus crystal damage. Empowered attacks have lower cooldown (0.5s) than her normal basic attacks (0.8s)
DETAILS:
Damage: 80/120/160/200/280 (80% Crystal Ratio)
Bonus Damage: 35/50/65/80/110 (140% Crystal Ratio)
Quoted:
This ability is why you build
Aftershock on Koshka.. You can use it while people is running away so the heroic perk will make you chase faster, you can use it as a very high damage ability and the bonus attacks count both as ability and basic attack so
Aftershock works very well with it.
Yummy Catnip Frenzy (Ultimate)
80/65/50|120/150/180
Koshka leaps at her target then launches into a flurry of slashes, stunning the target for the entire 2.2 second duration. Koshka will cancel her ult if the stun is Reflex Blocked.
DETAILS:
Total Damage: 350/575/800 (120% Crystal Ratio)
Quoted:
If a Koshka land this on you, you know that you are doomed because at least one of the two enemy heroes will melt you down, Koshka's ult is famous for killing people. The good thing is that this ability is really easy to block by
Reflex Block, so if you knows how to reflex, this ability is nothing.
Items (Koshka) Top
Starting Items (Koshka)
The starting items for Koshka is usually two
Crystal Bits if you are rushing a
Shatterglass or one
Crystal Bit and one
Hourglass if you are rushing an
Aftershock. Let me tell you one secret: always choose
Aftershock over
Shatterglass because
Aftershock give you life steal, percentage health damage and cooldown, also
Aftershock is cheaper.
Core Items (Koshka)
The core items on Koshka is kind of complicated. The build really depends on your playstyle, If you want to stick to the squishy assassin part, then get
Aftershock,
Heavy Prism,
Piercing Shard,
Coat of Plates,
Eclipse Prism and
Travel Boots. If you want to go for the tanky assassin, then get
Aftershock,
Heavy Prism,
Coat of Plates,
Kinetic Shield,
Piercing Shard and
Travel Boots.
Late Game Items (Koshka)
Late game is when Koshka starts to fall off, You should have completed your damage build for the very least. A little tip here: late game is when
Aftershock become useful, you will love the life steal and percentage damage effect.
Aftershock,
Broken Myth,
Shatterglass,
Atlas Pauldron,
Aegis and
Halcyon Chargers. This build is what you should build if you want some extreme burst, and it will still deal damage due to the
Aftershock in late game.
Aftershock,
Broken Myth,
Eve of Harvest,
Atlas Pauldron,
Aegis and
Halcyon Chargers. You build this if you want to sustain as much as possible, you will not be as bursty as the last build but you can survive nearly every single fight.
Aftershock,
Broken Myth,
Clockwork. This build is what you build if enemy does not block your ultimate, and you can stack bm ultra fast because you can use your B every 2 seconds, also you can chase people better because the
Clockwork cooldown.
Gameplay (Koshka) Top
Early Game (Koska)
Koshka is fairly weak before she gets her A ability, because of her short range she cannot chase up to people even if she have her heroic perk. So be patient until you reach level 2, then you will be able to nuke the enemy down. After you reach level 2, be as aggressive as possible, try to get as much kills as possible and let your laner get fed.
Mid Game (Koshka)
Now you probably have your
Aftershock or
Shatterglass ready, You should also have your ult. You should ult the enemy laner as soon as a teamfight starts, if he/she blocks it you just use your b and attack, they gain nothing either way. If you put enough pressure on the enemy carry, you should be able to two shot him/her.
Late Game (Koshka)
This is the time when Koshka starts to fall of hard, you need to play passive and careful. Because literally everyone will try to reflex your ult and melt you down, and you are a squishy assassin. So pray to jesus that your support focus on saving you and you land your ult.
Kiting and how to play team fights correctly (Koshka)
welp, here I am P4ndors again explaining how to play this hero to you noobs (that was a joke pls don't burn me alive).. Koshka for me is a rather easy hero to play, she have good running speed, good damage and extremely overpowered in early game.. The only thing about her is that she is soooo squishy almost too squishy, you you might want to buy some defense for her earlier into the game. And always get a
Aftershock if enemy is tanky, and if they are all squishy you just build a
Shatterglass and eat them alive. And boots is not that important for her so you don't need to worry about it.
Ok here is the painful part where I explain all the mechanic skills/tricks you need to have when playing with this cat lady. First, she is really squishy late game so you need to watch out not getting caught in a team fight, or you are just giving free kills to the enemy laner. Second, you should always buy an
Atlas Pauldron to slow the enemy attack speed so they don't melt you as much as they should be. Third, be as annoying to their laner as possible, use your speed advantage and your A ability to jump around in the enemy team and atlasing them, you may use your ult if you are sure that they will not block it. If you actually got caught, ult the enemy hero that does the highest damage to you, so at least you will survive a bit longer and give an opportunity for your laner to burst him/her down. And the final part, the most important part of playing a Koshka: You use your B before you engage, because your B cooldown is only like 6 seconds, so you jump on the enemy laner, atlas him/her, two basic attacks then you can use your B again. That will give you 6
Broken Myth stacks because every ability count as one stack, then you will deal like 400% more damage to the enemy because of your insane bm stacking speed. There is one last thing you have to notice: you are an assassin, not a warrior, don't be a hero.
Quoted:
It's always the same. They claim I cheated, I said they smelled like stinky cheese, they pulled a knife, I pulled a gun... you know how it ends. -Ringo
Ringo is the master gunman that suits for everyone at every level. If he is fed, with enough mechanics he counters every single hero in the game, if he is not fed, he gets countered by every single hero in the game. And that makes him really interesting to play, so if you are on a high rank level you should be careful to choose this hero wisely and try not to get countered as much as possible.
Abilities (Ringo) Top
Double Down (Heroic Perk)
Ringo's next basic attack after killing anything will be a critical strike.
Quoted:
For real, this heroic perk is not strong at all.. The reason why it sucks is because it doesn't help you that much, it is just a normal crit and it is only good at early poking. In a long fight this heroic perk is useless.
Achilles Shot (A Ability)
9/8.5/8/7.5/7|40/50/60/70/100
Ringo fires a trick shot at his target's heel (or whatever lower extremity exists), slowing the target & dealing damage.
DETAILS:
Damage: 80/125/170/215/350 (125% Crystal Ratio)
Slow Amount: 30%/35%/40%/45%/50%
Slow Duration: 1.5/1.5/1.5/1.5/2.5
This is Mainly a support ability unless you are using cp Ringo, the slow really helps you catch up escaping enemies
