Intruduction Top
Hello everybody, BossBoy here and welcome to my 2nd guide about
Grumpjaw the newest hero to enter the Halcyon Fold. If you haven't checked on my 1st guide yet, go check it right
here. I'm not the master of Vain Glory so if there is anything wrong or missing feel free to comment and I will try my best to reply to all of you
Sorry for the late updates! I have been busy all the time in the past few days so I haven't been able to update the guild. When I return, I'll go back to my daily routine. Be patience and thank you for your support on the guide :)

Grumpjaw's hardened carapace grants him increased defences. Every few seconds and every time he basic attacks, he gains a stack of Living Armor, up to a maximum of 5 stacks. Each stack grants bonus Armor and Shield. Enemies can remove stacks of Living Armor by dealing damage to Grumpjaw. He loses one stack per second while taking damage from basic attacks and abilities.
|
This heroic perk is very good, each stack of
Living Armor grant you 10 armor and 10 shields, so in a max stack (5 stacks) it could grant you a total of 50 armor and 50 shields. That is more armor than what
Fountain of Renewal can provide! You could buy defensive item mid - late game and focus on your offensive items.
|
Grumpy
Slot: A
Grumpjaw charges forward and slashes the area in front of him, damaging and slowing enemies he hits.
- Deals bonus damage for each stack of Living Armor Grumpjaw has.
|
|
Hangry
Slot: B
Grumpjaw leaps toward his target and attacks it. Afterward, he gains bonus damage and attack speed for several seconds. |
|
Stuffed
Slot: C
Grumpjaw lunges forward, devouring the first enemy hero in his path. While inside Grumpjaw's belly, enemies cannot move, act or see. After 3s, Grumpjaw will spit the enemy out in front of him.
- Reactivate this ability to spit the enemy out early.

Ability Uses Top
Grumpy
This ability is very helpful in chasing fleeing enemy because it gives them a slight slow so your teammates can catch up and finish the enemy off. It helps also help you catch mobile heroes like
Vox or
Skye so they can't dance around the battle and deal damage to your team. It could also be used to escape as this ability can actually go through walls!
Hangry
This ability is very similar to Ringo's
Twirling Silver which boost up their attack speed. This can be used to start a fight/team fight so you can get the upper hand over your enemies. It could be used as a gap closer if your
Grumpy and your boots are on cooldown and you are so close to but can't attack them.
Stuffed
This ability is kind of similar to a hero in League of Legend call Tahm Kench that can swallow a minion, enemy, or even his allies (here is the
link if you want to check it out. Sadly
Grumpjaw Ult can't do that but it is still a very useful in team fight. This ability could be in the beginning of the fight so you could change a 3 v 3 into a 2 v 3 battle with the advantage on your side. You could use your
Stuffed to take out the enemy carry that is dealing a lot of damage like
Ringo,
Skye, or a
SAW. You could also take out their captain so they can't help out their teammates. Another use of this ability is that you could use it to disable certain ultimate. For example, you could use
Stuffed to eat a
Joule when she is using
Big Red Button, or
Skaarf when he is firing his
Dragon Breath, or even
Ringo when he is channeling his
Hellfire Brew. This ability definitely needs fast reaction time to do that so practice with your friends. If you are near a turret, you could use
Stuffed to eat your enemy and spit them near your turret so you would get some help. If the enemy try to run away, use
Grumpy to slow them.
Pro and Cons of WP Grumpjaw Top
Pro
- consistent damage
- high attack speed
- great front line (because of his perk)
- pair well with
Hangry
Cons
- Ability is not a reliable way to deal damage, more of a gap closer
Item Explanation Top
Early Games Top
In the Early Games, you have 2 choices. If you want that aggression, go for that
Weapon BladeX 2. But if you feel that your attack speed is slow, Go and buy a
Weapon Blade and a
Swift Shooter. You could tell your captain to help your carry, because
Grumpjaw can solo clear the jungle without the help of the captain thanks to his perk (
Living Armor) that gives him bonus armor and shields. Sometime rotate up to gank the enemy carry. Wait for the enemy carry to cross the middle of the lane ( cross the spear shape things). Then use
Grumpy to get to the enemy and slow him/her, and use
Hangry to melt him down. Be careful if there is an enemy waiting at the bush waiting to attack.
Mid Game Top
You should get your first T3 item now and you should unlock your ultimate. Gank the laner occasionally. Now that you got the ultimate. You could use your
Stuffed to eat the enemy laner, then use
Grumpy to get closer to your turret and finish him off. Continue to do jungle rotation and some jungle invade if the all the enemy team is up in the lane or the enemy is low on health.
Late Game Top
Late game is where you need to be careful with all of your moves. One mistake and you could lose the game. When the team fight start, use
Stuffed to eat their captain or the hero that deals the most damage, then use
Hangry to boost up your damage and attack speed. If the enemy team try to run away, use
Grumpy so you and your team can catch up. Buy
Weapon Infusion when you got the money to boost your damage

The two are like brother and sister man!
Lyra can use her
Imperial Sigil to heal him while he is in battle or out of battle. Imagine a scenario,
Grumpjaw uses
Stuffed on an enemy hero but realise that he is too far and won't have enough time to get to his turret.
Lyra could use her
Arcane Passage and teleport to
Grumpjaw, he goes through the portal and BAM! He is right next to the turret. They could help each other out so well!

Imagine how much kills they can have when they are grouped together.
Ardan throw down his gautlet down to lock down a target for
Grumpjaw to beat the living **** of the enemy team. If the enemy is retreating,
Ardan could use his
Vanguard to make
Grumpjaw become more sticky
