Introduction to the Hearthrob Top
Weapon and Crystal Top
Weapon
Weapon, although being nowhere near as bursty as his crystal counterpartt, is the largely preferred build path due to its flexibility. Weapon is not a fan of burst damage or high powered damage as is. All this being said he has excellent execution damage and can freely cut his path across any battlefield plus the life steal helps keeps him in the fight.
Crystal
Crystal, although lacking proper sustain unlike his weapon counterpart, is still viable in many situations. Crystal works best against enemies that also share long range attacks or against characters that cannot be faced directly (ex. Good against Skye since WP BF is forced to eat her Forward Barrage, Good against Krul since WP BF usually doesn't stand a chance). His A does not offer execution damage but instead offers an empowered rose trail to help allies.
Weapon Paths - Life, Pain, Recovery Top
Life
The Path of Life is the meta build for a weapon Blackfeather. You got your Serpent Mask for lifesteal, a Breaking Point for better executions over time and a load of defense for staying in along with a pair of Journey Boots to make sure your enemies aren't going anywhere. Feel free to chase down your enemies with this as this build is excellent when it comes to its flexibility in most situations and engage potential.
Pain
The Path of Pain is really fun to play with! Unlike other weapon paths this one focuses on hard upfront damage to delete your enemies. You won't find a Serpent Mask here, its been swapped out for a Poisened Shiv for even more attack speed and damage plus the mortal wound effect to negate the enemy captains attempts at saving his allies life. Because of the critical damage in this build an overdrive on his ULT is necessary since his ultimate deals basic attack damage, due to the damage you will deal it would be best to burn out the charges on your ULT. Being reckless is the goal is this build. This build works best against Vox and Ringo.
Recovery
Recovery may seem very odd at first but that is because it is very odd. The Aftershock may seem a bit sketchy but you have to remember that Aftershock deals large damage based on the enemies health and provides excellent lifesteal with a low cool down for the effects, also it isn't affected by how many CP items you purchase making it a stand alone with CP bonuses. Recovery is great because of it's sustain and burst. Is utter devastation against Krul, Reim and Glaive.
Crystal Paths - Poke, Fortitude, Strength Top
Poke
The Path of Poke is your standard meta crystal powered Blackfeather build. Alternating Current for faster on hit crystal effects, Broken Myth for obvious reasons, Aftershock for burst. Like all of Blackfeathe's crystal paths his On Point excels especially when overdriven due to the intense poke range. Poke is the name of CP BF. In team fights or before team fights your goal is to poke the enemy team with your On Point until you have gained at least 4 BM stacks, upon reaching those engage with your A, Aftershock should help you land with a crash. An ULT should be used at least once in the fight but do remember it holds your only means of escape so always keep a charge, unless, as I've said before, you are certain to win.
Fortitude
Fortitude is made for the team player. Unlike a regular CP BF that eventually jumps into the fight you do not... well you do but its for different reasons. This tanky build in meant for lockdowns and is mainly anti-kite/anti-poke. You will mainly be hitting from afar but when you do jump in with Feint of Heart it is for your team. The rose trail is empowered by your total CP power which is why it holds heavy items. Works with teammates that need the boost (ex. Krul, Glaive) and against squishy enemies (ex. Celeste, Vox).
Strength
Not much of an explanation needed, by Blackfeather standards it is rather glass canon. Rely solely on your On Point.
