Don't go lifesteal early. It always seems like a good idea in your head but the gain isn't powerful enough with the lower damage. You want max weapon power for when you hit 6 and jump in with Red Mist. With an early Sorrowblade you have the potential to wipe their team with a well placed Into the Fray and Red Mist.
Once you have Sorrowblade and Sprint Boots you need to make a decision based on the team you are fighting. If you are having trouble getting into the fights then upgrade to Travel Boots and pick up Oakheart after. If you find yourself low on health often grab Oakheart first and quickly finish those Travel Boots. The boots are a big deal as they help you to stay in a good position for Red Mist.
Your next pick up is again based on your situation. If you are dominating, start building towards Tyrant's Monicle right away--go for Six Sins first. If you are taking too much damage and having some trouble staying alive start working on Aegis. Aegis will give you the defense to jump into 3 enemies and pull off a full Red Mist.
If you are getting kited consider throwing in a Shiversteel. One of the most important tricks to survival is adjusting how you use Into the Fray. If you are taking too much damage and dying easily save it as an escape, remember that Foesplitter does have a little jump and can be used as a closer.
Depending on how many Turrets the other team has I may go Bonesaw instead of Tyrant's Monicle to help grab turrets and defend against possible Kraken. Or if they have a Krul/Catherine that looks like will give my team some trouble.
Once I have my core I can reliably control any 3v3 battle. If my team is dominating then I like to build Serpent Mask followed by another Sorrowblade--this makes Red Mist incredibly deadly and you easily wipe out teams, turrets, and Kraken. This is such an expensive build that you should not go for it if your team is struggling, you will lack survivability and die before a full cycle of your skills. You're better off helping your team by picking up a Fountain of Renewal before Serpent Mask.
