All About Me Top
This is my first guide on a Vainglory champion, but I do have some experience making guides on the website Tapped Out, so hopedfully this will be a good guide. I have been playing Vainglory since just before the new year.
Adagio is my favorite character so far, but
Phinn is also cool. I always like getting deep into games and really trying to figure out what works and doesn't. I also like the guides that don't just give an item build and an ability path and don't ezplain anything, so my goal is to make a guide that tells you what to do and why to do that and what could be changed to fit your playstyle. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed amd encouraged.
Playstyle Top
I designed this build to be a supporter, but also a carry. The reason it works is that
Adagio's A-slot ability
Gift of Fire heals, but also applies an acidic
fire effect to nearby enemies. This
fire doesn't do that much damage, but it increases the damage buff on his B-slot ability,
Agent of Wrath, by 50%! With a
Shatterglass and and
Alternating Current you doing
1009.82 damage per second to an enemy on
Arcane Fire! So yeah, he can carry. WHILE healing his allies
295 burst plus 493 over 3 seconds. In a teamfight, you want to utilize
Adagio's range, the highest in the game, of 6.8. Using you Ult correctly can change the course of the battle in your favor, but it can also make the fight a 2v3. A good time to Ult is if you have Kraken and are right by their Vane; the enemy team can ether target you and have the Kraken do a lot of damage to their turrets, they could also ignore it and probably get aced, or they could flee to their spawn and have their turrets destroyed. The Ult is good for that, but is usually terrible in teamfights, besides potentially making enemies flee. In teamfights, try to heal the teammate that is closest to the enemy in order to apply
Arcane Fire for the damage buff, and him/her is probably taking the most damage anyway.
Why To Build Semi-Agressive Top
The reason this build only has 2 "Support" items is because Adagio's abilities directly buff his teammates. A healing ability on an 8 second cooldown is going to preform, over the course of the entire game, better than a [Fountain of Renewal]; just without the burst that the
highly valuable green vase has. His second ability can lead to a clutch Ace if you are trailing behind your teammate who is trailing behind an enemy with low to medium health. The [Shatterglass] truly becomes a support item in Adagio's pouch of magical goods that I totally didn't invent on the spot; after all, CP can only amplify what your abilities do, and Adagio's abilities support. I also don't see the problem with AC, you already buff yourself with
Agent of Wrath and the faster your enemies die, the less damage they can do to your carry/carries.

You are playing roam with this build, so stick to your jungler and hit the jungle monsters first to get the ironguard contract effects. Feel free to
heal him when he is low, you wouln't want him to instantly die if the enemy team invades. If your laner gets pushed, keep in mind that your first tier 3 item and your
Gift of Fire heal allies, so your presence in the enemies' push, especially when you are hiding in the bushes, can lead to the the enemy team wondering why your ally is at full health and
regenerating whatever is thrown at him. In this stage of the game, most of the time you just follow your jungler wherever he goes. But you may have to help your laner from time to time. Speaking of laning, you can also lane instead of jungle if you want/have to. Use your
Gift of Fire on your minions to set their minions on
fire to get back your energy.
Heal anyone who ganks for you. You can melt someone if you use
Agent of Wrath on them and they are on
Arcane Fire. Change your item build by taking out the
Crucible and add in a
Frostburn. Also build the
Fountain of Renewal second or third.
Mid Game Top
In this part of the game, teamfights are probably starting to break out over the
Gold Mine, so be ready with your heal and don't use it casually. This is where you need to nail your
Gift of Fire and
Agent of Wrath in order to gain momentum in a teamfight and transfer it into defending the
Gold Mine. Hopefully you can control the
Gold Mine until
Kraken comes, and then take it and do some serious damage to their base. Taking
Kraken is a huge deal, and you need your alies on board; so if you think you should take, be aggresive and try to Ace or kill 2 members of their team (Just don't overextend) and then your teammates will probably be on board. When taking
Kraken, you will probably be the meatshield taking damage from it, so
heal yourself and don't be afraid to run into the bushes; your teammates can take a few hits and be fine.
Late Game Top
At this point in the game, Aces are what matters; Aces will kill the
Kraken or kill turrets or destroy your Vain. But they could just as easily destroy their Vain. You need to be ready for a teamfight at any time and you need to use your abilities right, so basically don't use your Ult unless you are SURE it help more tham harm; you can't use
Gift of Fire while ulting. You may need to protect your carry, but look for opportunities to protect him by killing an enemy. You should be ready to pivot from a tank to a damage dealer just by
healing your ally and popping
Agent of Wrath. Buy infusions whenever possible in this stage, also put mines by the
Kraken. When your team loses a teamfight, run and don't let them Ace you. You might even Ace them while fleeing, you do have a sick heal. Sell your ironguard only when you have your other slots filled.
