So for ardan you want to start with a swift shooter and 2 pots. The extra speed from ss will allow you to build your blood for blood faster, which you will find is the bread and butter for Ardan. Seriously, you can have almost no attack items and deal massive damage with this move. Its ridiculous. Anyway this next part is by far the most important for Ardan scaling through the game. DO NOT RUSH 1 ITEM. In order buy a second ss then check the score to see if enemy is building more crystal or more weapon, to know whether to start with shield or armor. Then get an oakheart, then boots. Once you have that whole list and keeping 2 pots or more on you at all times, build tier 2 of your items. You want tornado trigger coming off the ss, focus your blazing salvo before the crits on tier 2 unless you can just buy them both, for the oakheart, you are actually combining that with your shield for a fountain of renewal, and the shield build for a metal jacket, (situationally you may go for an atlas pauldron, but a metal jacket is almost always more useful in my opinon*) The obviously the boots you just upgrade. Then you focus your tier 3 versions finishing up those items. I like a wp ardan better than a cp so I go for a sorrow blade next. I almost never see a game last longer than that but if you want the sixth slot item I throw in a bonesaw at the end, this ruins all their hard work at trying to counter your build with armor. But also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to put more health if their burst damage is still too high for what you can handle. It shouldn't be though. As far as abilities, max out blood for blood and gauntlet, that extra time in the gauntlet just wrecks. Also, a tip for fountain of renewal, don't just save it for yourself, you can easily save the lives of your teammates with it, since it casts to teammates around you as well. I find myself using it more on them then on me.
*Pro tip - you can use your fountain of renewal while you are in the air throwing down the gauntlet, also you can use atlas pauldron, crucible, pot, warhorn, any item that can be used, can be cast midair. its super effective since you can't do anything else during that time. With atlas, jump over an enemy's head for positioning to trap their entire team, and use the atlas to slow him while you are directly over his head. Its almost terrifying when you do things like that. But like I said in the post, atlas should be situational.
