2
Ozo All Ozo's I have fought with this build I have easily dominated. Call the wolves and bleed him out. Be vigilant and aware of what he can do, his life steal might surprise you.
3
Lance Only problem you might face is if he roots you or stuns you out of attacking their carry. An aegis or crucible will help with this
3
Ardan You will always win in a 1v1 if you farm correctly, he can only block you out of kills on his teammates
3
Skaarf Don't get caught in the goop and predict the fireballs and you've bagged yourself a dragon dinner
3
Adagio Block the stun and you're fine, his slow doesn't do much when you can just leap straight at him. Watch out for his allies though
3
Phinn Phinn will most likely be the last one standing, or the last one in the fight when his allies have run away. He has no escape options, just dodge the stun and his thick skin won't stop him from bleeding to death
4
Reim Due to your uncanny mobility around allies, you can very easily run and strafe around Reim's abilities, although he still does lots of damage if he hits you
5
Alpha Depending on the build and skill, may not be too much of a threat. Always be on the lookout for the ult and the heroic perk, the second chance may not matter if you have the correct items, but if you have not farmed enough they have the advantage.
5
Rona Depending on the build, Rona may or may not be a problem. Check what they are building and always have a counter
5
Joule Ult and stun are very scary, so watch out for those. Otherwise, bleed and crush
5
Koshka For Koshka, the element of surprise will win you the kill, but the same goes for her. Stay aware.
5
Petal I've honestly never faced a petal with this build, so I'm going to make an educated guess. She can leap away from you, but you can leap towards her so it pretty much cancels each other out. Similar to your wolves, do not ignore her minions, if she's stopped attacking you and is too far away to attack, go for her minions and make her spend her energy.
6
Fortress If you're playing ranked, he won't be a problem. If you're not, depending on what he builds he might be a threat. Don't ignore the wolves
6
Celeste Does high damage but has a very limited escape ability, aegis or crucible can easily block. Hunt her down and she will break.
6
Blackfeather High damage but squishy, if you have the jump on him he will break
6
Catherine Stun is very annoying and can reflect all your hard work and damage back onto you and your allies. Do not bleed her when her shield is up.
6
Kestrel High damage but do not get caught in the mist. Most people ignore the wolves and they will bleed her out whilst she's distracted trying to hit your agile doggy backside. Just be sure to have your allies handy
6
Ringo His slow can be devastating but time your leaps and he can't get away. Be very wary of stutter stepping and have your allies close by for the speed boost.
7
Taka High burst damage, but hopefully you will kill him faster than he does to you. Your wolves will seek him out when he's invisible
7
Krul Krul's ability to 1v1 is unmatched, however you can easily ambush him and cut him down with teammates. Do not engage by yourself.
7
Lyra Lyra can be very problematic, her B can stop you chasing and her heal is very powerful. Don't chase her when she's near a turret or she'll teleport and you'll be a dead dog with a big cannon mark in your side
8
SAW When spun up, very dangerous, do not engage. If you are to attack him, do it when he's using suppressing fire and bleed him out
9
Glaive Very dangerous, afterburn leaves you extremely vulnerable to a gank and is not so easily killed.
9
Vox High mobility and high damage, very dangerous, can easily take out all of your wolves quickly
9
Skye Similar to Vox, high damage and mobility, do not get caught in the forward (or backward) barrage
10

Intro Top

Hello everyone and thanks for clicking on my build. This is the first one I've done so it might be a little vague but I'm trying to include everything I can.

Fortress is a warrior/roamer but I much prefer using him as a CP carry. I've focused on his bleed and wolves a lot when talking about the threats because they are the most important parts of Fortress' arsenal. If you've played fortress before, you know that when you apply bleeding to someone, they take damage over time, but when you or any of your allies basic attack them 6 times in total, it will deal a huge burst of damage and reduce their healing. Note that the wolves also apply bleeding and their attacks count towards the 6 basic attacks. This is crucial as often the enemies never expect such a big damage curve. I will go in depth on this topic a little later.

Heroic Perk Top

Fortress' heroic perk, packmates, increases his speed to that of almost sprinting when near to allies. This ability is possibly the best thing about fortress, his innate speed lets him track down even the fastest of heroes. This only applies when you're near an ally though, so be careful and watch your teammates. If they go down, a lone wolf is a dead wolf. You've got to help your teammates too, buy a crucible and/or a fountain and make sure they stay alive. They're just as important as you.

Ability A Top

Truth of the tooth is an underrated ability. When built with crystal it not only does high amount of damage and give you and your allies speed, it gives life steal to you and your team. Use this to your advantage and keep yourself healthy. Try initiating with this ability for the damage burst and go for the enemy carry, then save this ability for when the enemy is (hopefully) running away. Keep with your allies and make sure they use the speed boost too and you will relentlessly chase down everybody.

Ability B Top

Law of the claw is a very useful ability. It does a lot of damage and I mentioned in the intro that it applies bleed. The bleed is what makes fortress so good. Upon reaching 6 stacks, the damage done is equal to a percentage of the enemy's health. At overdrive, this percentage is 20. That is 1/5 of your opponents health. When built with crystal however, it has ratio, and then the percentage becomes higher and higher as you get Broken Myth stacks. It is crucial you get broken myth and I will talk about this later. Try using this ability straight after truth of the tooth to get the life steal and maximise the amount of basic attacks to pull off after it.

Ability C Top

Fortress' ultimate, Attack of the Pack, is one of the most powerful abilities in the game ( in my opinion). It grants fortress fortified health, gives him a 70% attack speed boost (when maxed) and calls forth 3 wolves to seek out a hero each. The wolves are extremely under appreciated and are often ignored by the enemy team, they tend to focus on the bigger problem, e.g you. Built with crystal, these wolves do fairly decent damage that increases every second and apply the most important debuff; bleed. The wolves apply bleed stacks, which in turn deals even more damage per second that increases every second. Then when the stacks reach 6, the enemies lose more health, more bleed stacks apply and the vicious cycle continues. Paired with the buffs to you, you can easily overcome a 2v1 if you focus the damage dealer. If the enemy ignore the wolves, the wolves cut them down. If the enemy don't ignore the wolves and attack them, you cut them down, it's foolproof. I recommend using this ability just before initiating an attack. They are faster than a hero's regular move speed and know exactly where the enemies are, good for scouting out if they're attacking the kraken or the gold mine. I mentioned that they target one hero each, but what happens when one hero dies? Well, the wolf that was focused on that hero switches targets and goes for another hero. What happens when two heroes die? All 3 wolves target the remaining hero. This is very powerful, as 3 wolves = 3 basic attacks. This means that the wolves will trigger the bleed stacks in just 2 seconds. Imagine losing 20% of your health every two seconds and then trying to heal it back but the heal is not powerful enough to save you. This is great for when you're the last one alive, and there is only one survivor on their team as well. It makes a 1v1 an almost instant win. You may even win against a Krul if you're smart and you have a health advantage. After you've killed all heroes and the wolves are still alive, they will target the lane and the turrets, killing all minions in their path. In battle royale, you can use them as meat shields, stand by the turret, call the wolves and bite and claw at your heart's desire, just be sure that nobody spawns or else the wolves will abandon you and you'll be left to fend against the turret yourself.

Team Synergy Top

Whew, got all the complicated stuff out the way, here I'll be talking about good team comps.

Fortress needs basic attacks for the bleed to work, so people who deal out basic attacks quickly work very good with him ( SAW, Ringo)

He's a very good early game invader as well, with the burst damage and the ability to chase them down. You'll be very fast since they won't have bought any boots. Fast heroes and people good at chasing work very well with fortress ( Catherine, Koshka)

Late game he's much more of an assassin-warrior combo, doing surprise burst damage and persistently dishing out high damage. Heroes that can prevent enemies from fleeing or that can do a wide stun/silence to stop them from countering you are very helpful as well ( Phinn, Adagio, Vox)

Conclusion Top

Fortress is one of my favourite heroes, and for good reason. High burst damage, high consistent damage, decent defences if built right, very powerful abilities and self buff ultimate, great chaser and amazing team player. Remember to bleed out the carry as soon as you can and call the wolves for extra assistance.

Give him a try and see how you get on.

Good luck in the fold!
