Introduction Top
Bla, bla, bla. Just another tank build. Hey, at least I'm telling you how to play her.
[NOTE: THIS BUILD IS MORE VIABLE IN A PARTY THAT WORKS TOGETHER.]
Early Game Top
Buy
Ironguard Contract, 2
Halcyon Potions, and 1
Scout Trap. Go down into the jungle, scout trap the bush left of the central mine, and follow your Jungler around. Tank the damage for him, and let him last hit the creeps. With
Ironguard Contract, you earn about 30 gold for every creep. Once there are no more creeps in the jungle, sit in the bush near your laner. You should get some gold from his last hits. If there's an opportunity to gank, gank. Make sure you upgrade your bubble shield, it really helps against those
SAWs and
Ringos.
Mid Game Top
You should probably have a
Crucible and a
Lifespring by now. Your laner is more prone to death now. When he dies, get in the lane. Make sure the enemy team doesn't push down your turret. There's also an opportunity to kill creeps for gold in the lane, but make sure you do it when your laner is dead, otherwise you'll be stealing gold from him. Rinse and repeat chapter 1.
[TIP: Your lifespring STILL grants you regen when you're in combat with creeps. It only stops if you attack or get attacked by an enemy hero. Use this to your advantage!]
Late Game Top
This is where support Catherine really starts to shine. You can deflect crazy damage with your bubble shield, and your defensive items help you stay alive longer. You also have
Aftershock, which can deal loads of damage if used correctly. Keep in mind that
Crucible and
Fountain of Renewal also works for your teammates around you. Keep track of their health, and use a
Crucible and Fountain Od Renewal appropriately. You should also have
Shiversteel by now. Use it to slow enemies when your stun is down.
Atlas Pauldron helps to counter enemies with a high attack speed. Use it against
SAW or
Krul. You can also replace
Atlas Pauldron with
Metal Jacket (for enemies with high damage/low attack speed), a
Crucible (For those times when you just want more health!). You should also have an
Aegis at this point. It gives you health, shield, and a reflex block. Use it when
Ringo uses his
Hellfire Brew on you. You can also use it as a quick way to escape slows.
[TIPS: To use
Aftershock effectively, initiate with a stun (cath's stun is considered a basic attack), activate the bubble after
Aftershock is off the cooldown, and use your ult if you're in a teamfight. The enemy's health should be around 50% by now!]
Other Important Things Top
ALWAYS overdrive your
Stormguard when using cath. It makes her much tankier! Lot of her tankiness and damage comes from
Stormguard's effect.
This build doesn't need boots because it's a TANK. Not to mention that Catherine already has a natural escape ability,
Merciless Pursuit.
Panzerfaust adds to your armor, so don't forget to stun!
You can soak up quite a bit of damage from turrets and kraken, so don't be afraid to attack turrets if you have a teammate. You can take a few hits.
Halcyon potions are not really good for anything late game except energy regeneration. But even then, killing jungle creeps grants you more. Try to refrain from buying potions mid-late game.
INFUSIONS MAKE CATHERINE 100^6% BETTER.
More stuff later.
Conclusion Top
I hoped you liked my build, or whatever. Have fun soaking up damage, kiddies. With your teammates, of course.
