Baron is an Artillary piece, and little more. He is extremely powerful at nuking down enemies both quickly and slowly, whether from his mortar, or his basic attack. His power lies in his team fighting abilities where any group of enemies becomes a group of dead enemies. His AOE basic attack wrecks havoc on groups of enemies and his passive biff makes eradicating a single target easy.

Rocket Launcher
Slot: Heroic Perk
Baron's basic attacks explode, dealing 125% weapon power to the target.
- Explosions deal 90% weapon power damage to surrounding enemies.
- Explosions deal reduced damage to minions.
|
This ability is one of the defining features of Baron, damage. His AOE ranged attacks that deal 130% more makes him a force to be reckoned with in the lane. This abilities AOE damage is obviously less than the targeted attack, and it does about 1/3 to 1/4 the damage of the initial blast to lane minions (from what I can tell). This ability also does full damage against jungle minions. This 130% damage increase stacks with items also, so a sorrow blade, with a basic weapon power of 150, becomes a damage increase of 195 with the 30% damage boost. This ability makes last hitting a breeze and demolishing a whole wave of minions in just a few this a breeze.

Porcupine Mortar
Slot: A
Baron launches artillery toward the target location, heavily damaging enemies on impact. This ability has 2 charges.
- Enemies are also slowed by 10% (+10% weapon power), decaying over 2.2s.
- This slow is further increased with weapon power up to a cap of 30% with 200 weapon power.
- The range of this ability increases with crystal power up to a cap of 11 meters with 200 crystal power.
- Baron can fire this while using Jump Jets.
- Deals reduced damage to minions.
|
This ability, while not the main damage dealer, is a really large help to the already really high DPS of Baron. It's best used when enemies are either right on top of you, where its AOE and extra damage will assist in the fight, when enemies are fleeing, to poke enemies, and finally for demolishing minion waves in seconds. It's just an all around good ability and should be used in a similiar fashion to Blackfeathers On Point, not to be the main source of damage, but should be used whenever permitted.

Jump Jets
Slot: B
After a brief delay, Baron jets to the location then gains bonus move speed for 2.1s. His next basic attack is a double shot.
- Overdrive: At max rank, Baron ignores all effects while leaping.
- Baron takes longer to power up the farther away he is from his destination. However, this delay is reduced by weapon and crystal power up to a maximum of 200 total.
- Basic attacks reduce this ability's cooldown by 10%.
|
This ability is very similiar to Blackfeathers ultimate ability to either escape, chase, or for extra damage. It's a fairly straightforward ability, with more weapon power increasing its speed, and crystal power making the range gargantuan at 18 meters with 200 crystal power. One notable other bonus is what comes after. After landing, Baron will be able to attack twice in extremely quick succession, further increasing his damage and helping tremendously when an enemy is running away with very little health left.

Ion Cannon
Slot: C
Baron targets a location anywhere on the map for an orbital strike, obliterating the area after a 3s delay.
- This deals full damage to enemies near the center, falling off to 65% damage at the edges.
- Although Baron and his allies see the designated location immediately, enemies only become aware of it 0.9s before impact.
- Passive: Each rank of this ability permanently increases Baron's basic-attac range.
- Deals reduced damage to minions.
|
Ion cannon is an amazing tool for both initiation and its passive ability. While at first Baron has a moderate range of 5.4 meters, each point put into Ion Cannon increases it to 6.4, to 6.9, all the way up to 7.4, giving Baron the longest basic attack range of all heros, with Adagio coming behind at 6.6 meters. It's damage can also be extremely useful as well. One thing to note is that it is best used directly on top of an enemy, as its damage quickly trails off from its center 950 damage.
