Adagio, Adagio and Adagio Top
Adagio is one of the best heroes in VainGlory. I say think because he is versatile, can play roam, jungle and lane. This is amazing when playing soloQ however he takes a bit of skill to play and people tend to prefer lyra as roam (filthy peasants :P). Anyways Adagio when played well you will win almost every team fight and that isn't an exaggeration. I will try to go in depth but I'm currently on mobile so I can't guarantee a decent guide, bear with me and without any delay lets begin :).
Why haven't I included a jungle adagio? Top
In the previous chapter I said adagio can play lane, jungle and roam. So why haven't I included a jungle build? Why am I not going to talk about jungle adagio? Because Adagio jungle is outclassed but almost every other jungler and Adagio only notable roles are roam and lane and his build would for jungle would be the same as Adagio's lane build.
Abilities Top
Adagio has one of the best supportive abilities in the game (a little bias :P) as he can heal, buff and has the potential to stun and entire team.
Perk - Arcane Renewal
Damage done to a target with arcane fire regens adagios energy (which is why halcyon chargers aren't needed, get journey boots instead)
A - Gift Of Fire
This is adagio's main ability, it heals and splashes arcane fire on surrounding enemies, and it also slows opponents near adagio when used on himself. This has a range of useful applications; Slowing down fleeing targets, healing allies, healing himself, using it to help regain energy and it helps lane clear in conjunction with Adagio's B....
B - Agent Of Wrath
This is what makes the push comp so strong (google it if you don't know) as it gives bonus damage to an allies, or adagios, basic attacks. When you or your ally have the affect of Agent Of Wrath damage done to a target with arcane fire is greatly increase this is the main combo of adagio's kit, and even noobs who are using a adagio, purely because he's free to play, knows this and, honestly, is one of the most powerful combos in the game.
C - Verse Of Judgement
Adagio channels for a few seconds (Relflex block or get stunned nub)and delivers a huge burst of damage, stunning those who are on fire, arcane fire ofc. This is easily reflex blocked, or blocked by crucible which makes it rather useless, however an alternate way of using it is for a distraction, enemies will wither run away or target you, hopefully your team mates realise this and try to do something to them and hopefully get an ace or kill at least one, this isn't a useless ability, its just that its main thing that it does gets negated so easily.
Hopefully I explained the abilities well and that you have a better understanding of them.
Carry Guide Top
Okay for Adagio, in lane, start with Crystal Bit and the Swift Shooter and put a point in his A, and then farm like normal, use your A on a minion and then farm up, don't go to the elder treant until you cleared the wave, by then the elder treant is either gone or being contested, don't allow them to take the first blood bonus, even if it means losing the treant.
Adagio can be played to ways in lane, Aggressively and Passively:
I would play aggressive adagio against melee laners, and heroes that can poke or do chip damage like vox and blackfeather. Basically you attack the laner whenever they are on fire, you might miss out on some farm, but more or less you would get the kill, be careful not to overly extend, and this play style should not be used without vision and if they have heroes that can punish you for over extending i.e glaive and rona
I would play passively if they have any assassins or bursty heroes, and decent crowd control, Try to freeze the lane by either matching the opponents aggression or only getting the last hit (no prior damage by you) this will allow you to have a decent amount of farm and keep the lane in one spot, if they opponent is aggressive and keeps attacking you, freeze near your turret.
I know these can be said for every laner but idc tbh lol, Just a basic carry guide.
Roam/Captain Adagio Top
Roam Adagio is miss-understood, while he can tank damage, that isn't how he is played, he stays in the backline healing and buffing allies, you should only be in the centre of the action when using your ult, or trying to slow a fleeing enemy (Using your heal on yourself).
Roam adagio can be played offensively to great effect, however you should force your allies to play extremely aggressively, as you can heal them, to spread the flames, and then buff them, they have a huge damage increase from the buff as the targets should be on fire. This is a basic combo, used by carry/lane adagio on himself as well, and can lead into your ult as they would be on fire and your ult stuns them.
Adagio should have flares on him at all times and have vision, this is for every roam but adagio can see them, then he can slow them and then initiate for their team. Heroes with gap closers and stuns work well, an ideal comp is CP Celeste lane, Roam Adagio, WP Glaive jungle, Glaive has high DPS and a stun+Gap closer and is tanky, Celeste does huge damage from the back lines and has a stun and a global ult isn't bad, and adagio ups her survivability with his heal. This isn't the best comp however it works well.
