There are very many players I have witnessed who have not mastered using
Taka. Here are just a few highlights I would like to point out and maybe help shed some light in becoming a better user.
PROBLEMS
- Abilities
- Builds
- Positioning
SOLUTIONS
Abilities
- Do not recklessly use your
Kaiten. Some people just Kaiten for extra damage but the right way to handle and use
Taka is to
X-Retsu then continuously do basic attacks and then only use
Kaiten if you are trying to run away in the opposite direction or to avoid taking damage from an ability.
- Many new users do not know that
Kaku allows for
Taka to maintain his Ki stacks. This way, you can always be at your strongest when you head into trade offs because you'll be constantly dealing crits while having a speed boost and regaining 20% lifesteal from your
House Kamuha heroic perk.
- Since
X-Retsu got nerfed, try to be wise when you apply your ult because it just may either help you win the trade off or cause your teammates to suffer a 2v3 right after you die so quickly. With this new update, mortal wound should finish your opponent off if his health is really low. Don't feed the turret and suffer a death from chasing down your enemy to get that last hit unless you're trying to push for an ace.
Builds
- Do not waste gold on
Journey Boots in the game,
Sprint Boots or
Travel Boots will suffice.
- Do not get
Tension Bow unless you are planning to take advantage early game. Late game, it will become useless when the other team builds armor.
- Why do you not have any defensive items mid game yet? You're a squishy, quit being vulnerable.
- Be sure to have either
Crystal Infusion or
Weapon Infusion ready for a trade off over Kraken.
- Are you even building the right items against the enemies or are you just following a guide?
Positioning
I often see people rant about
Taka being extremely weak after the update. That's not true, its just balanced now considering how OP he was. Most of the time, I seen players initiate their
X-Retsu and indulge in a continuous trade off. By late game, this can be easily countered with a
Crucible or
Aegis so my advice is if you are initiating, then expect to
Kaku behind your team as they take the beating and then you can scoop up the kill with your
Kaiten if you are not in any harm or have cool downed your
X-Retsu again. On the other hand, staying back and just letting your teammates take the damage (considering you're the one the whole enemy team is usually targeting first). If they waste their ult on your teammates, their guards should be let down as they focus on trying to eliminate your comrades. This is when you positioned yourself from harm's way while also saving your teammate from dying as you swoop in with an
X-Retsu assassinating the enemy off making it a 3v2 in your favor. Now of course, this is all theoretical and every trade off can be different. Most experts would know to always have map awareness and save their ults timing it right when you pop out of the bushes. Never over extend and always stay close to your teammates when trading off. Positioning is key and its what makes
Taka such a sly fox if you master your placements.
FOR THE LOVE OF VAINGLORY, IF NONE OF YOU GUYS BUY FLARES OR HAVE ANY VISION ON THE ENEMY
Taka THEN YOU DESERVE TO GET WRECKED.
1. Save your ult.
-
Taka experts know how to position themselves. Depending on the trade off, they either initiate or protect.
- So hold off on using your ult if you don't see the enemy
Taka unless you know you can kill him without it.
2. Counterbuild.
