Krul Krul really isn't much of a threat at long range, but if he's nearby, NEVER 1v1 A KRUL.
6
Ringo YOU WILL BE SLOWED. YOU WILL BE CHASED. YOU. WILL (NOT). DIE. If a Ringo chases you down, try to aim one Glimmershot at him to decrease the cooldown of Active Camo, then use it to keep some distance away from the Ringo.
7
Petal Is a hassle if you can't take down her Munions. Without her Munions, she's an easy kill. Take advantage of Glimmershot 's splash damage to take care of her Munions especially if they're very near each other.
8
Koshka Really deadly at mid and late game if you don't have a reflex block to cancel her Ultimate. High attack power combined with her high speed chases make her a very formidable opponent.
9
Kestrel First person to land a Glimmershot wins; First person to bait the other into their mist wins. Try to anticipate where the enemy Kestrel places her mists, if you don't want to risk running into her mists, try staying near an allied turret to keep her away.
9
Gwen Can slow you down an reveal you with her Buckshot Bonanza and then follow up with some basic attacks to deal serious damage. If she chases you, try to land a Glimmershot and use Active Camo to get away.
9
Taka
10
Catherine REALLY tanky because of her huge and constantly rising shield and armor stat. Can also stun you anytime with her first ability. Stay away from 1v1's with her as she will outlive you due to her tankiness.

Intro Top

Congratulations, You've decided to learn how to play Kestrel!
Kestrel is a hero who could deal HUGE amounts of damage mainly using her Glimmershot in close range and One Shot One Kill for an infinitely ranged attack. She's a really easy hero to pick up (despite Vainglory giving her a "hard" difficulty) because her strategy is quite basic and only requires you to have great aiming skills and a bit of luck.

Abilities Top

Glimmershot

Kestrel's main source of damage. It does a lot of damage to the first target that gets hit, and damages all enemies behind the target moderately. Crystal Power increases Splash damage and splash area size. One Shatterglass would make this ability powerful enough to be able to pick on any hero, especially "squishy" heroes like Ringo, Gwen and enemy Kestrel. Use this ability often as unlike other abilities, you have 4 shots before you have to reload, giving you the option to spam arrows in the enemy's direction. Though some people (and Kestrel's recommended set in-game) would use items that increase attack speed like Tornado Trigger, Breaking Point and Alternating Current to decrease the reload time, I personally would not recommend increasing attack speed since a single Glimmershot does way more damage than multiple basic attacks, making the items a waste of space.

Active Camo

Active Camo can be used either aggressively or as means of getting away from enemy heroes. Using one Shatterglass with this ability on overdrive gives you 6.5 seconds of invisibility, allowing you to gas the enemy area without being detected. Try to use this ability aggressively by gassing the around the enemy area and baiting the enemies into the gas for a quick stun, from there on, it's simply a few Glimmershots before they're dead. Using this ability defensively means gassing around one of your team's objectives. Gassing around your allied turrets and in nearby brush would help Your team detect enemies that are planning to attack the turret. Using this ability to get away from heroes is simple. At low health, anyone would want to take their chances to kill you, going invisible while they chase you is a great way to lead the enemy into your gas and get them for an easy stun. Try using this ability with full Adrenaline stacks to cut down energy costs.

One Shot One Kill

There are three main uses for this ability: to weaken, to gain Adrenaline stacks, and to finish off. You should keep this ability available as much as possible for the opportunity to pick on fleeing targets. As a much as possible, don't mainly use this ability to weaken an opponent, as they could use a Halcyon Potion or run away and recall to base. Using this ability to instantly gain 5 stacks of Adrenaline is a better option, simply aiming at turrets would give you give you the 5 stacks instantly. Just avoid doing this when there are enemies nearby. The best use for this ability is to kill fleeing opponents before they can get to the protection of their base. Since this ability has an infinite range, try to predict the direction of where the weakened enemy is fleeing to and aim this ability in that direction. If the enemy doesn't Reflex Block, you'll most probably get the kill.
