Chapter 1 - Start Game Top
Start the game with the contract and a couple of health potions. The contract is especially useful to get you some gold, you can vanguard a teammate who is engaged with minions and get a couple coins out of that while focusing on something else.
When getting off the base use Vanguard on the farthest teammate leaving the base to speed up your teammates and give you a small teleport jumpstart. If you're planning a jungle invasion use your potions to keep yourself alive and vanguard on your engaged teammates for both defense and extra hit.
On the first shop visit go for hourglass first, it'll help you level up faster by using more blood for blood, get the sprint boots to avoid dying in skirmishes, play safe early on. Make sure you have a couple potions and scout mines to help you stay alive early on.
If opponent team isn't invading much you can even go for Chronograph before starting to build up your health. You'll level up faster due to the blood for blood countdown boost. But you won't last long against any opponents you face, so play safe, vanguard yourself and your teammate whenever you can and stay out of trouble.
Chapter 2 - Early Game Top
Keep building blood for blood, boots, chronograph and dragonheart with fast level up, focus on jungle and only go to lane for teammate support or cleaning some minions without getting yourself killed.
Once you reach level 6 you can gauntlet surprise an enemy (usually in the lane to make sure you got some support to clean him out fast before backup arrives).
Start working on Eclipse Prism or Crucible depending how your team is doing, if they are needing you to tank or give some extra damage.
Chapter 3 - Mid Game Top
Once you get Blood for Blood maxed and Aftershock you start packing a decent punch, don't succumb to the temptation of engaging your enemy alone, keep leveling up fast with jungle creatures.
Makes sure you get your Journey Boots as soon as possible, they are crucial, help in leveling up faster, help in running away, help in staying alive with the health + regenerate + shield bonuses, help in giving you enough speed to hammer down the last blood for blood on a fleeing enemy.
Chapter 4 - 1st Kraken Top
You won't be able to hit much on the first kraken, so the best thing you can do is prepare a good trap for the enemy with a lot of scout mines on the enemies bushes or with your gauntlet to single one of the opponents out for your teammates to kill or finish off, don't gauntlet into the whole enemy team, you'll be too weak to last long enough.
Gauntlet can also be very useful when your teammates are finishing the kraken alone, rise it close to the enemies bush to protect the kraken from surprise last hits. don't forget to vanguard your teammates who are attacking the kraken directly.
Chapter 5 - Mid Game Top
If you lost the kraken, regroup near your turrets. Use Gauntlet to isolate single opponents excorting the kraken or to give your teammates some privacy to attack the kraken properly. Scout mines are your friend defending against a kraken run, plant a lot of them throughout the lane to surprise the enemies with extra damage (also might take clean some enemy minions along with it) or to lure your opponents to run into the range of your gauntlet while trying to avoid a mine blast.
If you won the kraken, do the usual excort work, grab the minion mines (you should run faster then your teammates at this point) and support your teammates to survive any skirmishes.
You can opt to either tank first or give yourself an attack boost with alternating current.
PS - excort is typo'ed on purpose to bypass vaingloryfire's blacklist of the proper word.
Chapter 6 - Late Game Top
Play carefully on late game, if both your teammates are dead you usually won't last very long. Focus on keeping them alive. Vanguard them out of traps whenever possible. Use Gauntlet to screen them to safety.
If you got your crystal boost right and your opponents didn't invest in defense you might be able to surprise them 1on1, but you're probably better off avoiding these skirmishes if you don't have backup on the way.
Ardan can be very useful in base fights aswell. Gauntlet can prevent an enemy from leaving the battle field for your teammates to finish them off, or give your teammates coverage to go back and regroup. Vanguarding a teammate on a chase can also do miracles, not only does it give extra hit on the enemy, it also teleports you in range to hit a blood for blood or gauntlet and it gives your teammate extra speed boost to catch up with the opponent.
