Intruduction Top
Hello, welcome to my taka guide! I've started playing VainGlory since around the time when
Lance was released. I usually main
cp
Taka,
wp
Krul, and
Lance. Since this is my first guide so I'm still a noob at coding and stuff. But without further ado, let's get into the guide.
I am a HUMAN! Top
I'm not a robot that can do everything perfectly from top to bottom. If you have any question about my guide, or you disagree with my guide (Which is fine, everyone has a different viewpoint). Feel free to leave a comment and I will try my best to reply to every single one of you guys =).
Abilities Top
First, let's talk about Taka abilities and perk and see what he can do
|
|
Every 5 seconds, Taka's next basic attack is replaced with a Mortal Strike. Mortal Strikes deal 40 (+30% weapon ratio) bonus damage and grant Taka a burst of move speed. Whenever Taka Mortal Strikes or uses an ability, he gains a stack of Ki, which speeds up his Mortal Strike timer by 0.9 secs and grants 20% cooldown speed. (5 Ki stacks max.)
|
This can make clearing the jungle faster because of the movement speed that the heroic perk gives you can make you move from one jungle monster to the other faster. You could have more time to go up into the lane to help your laner or kill their laner.
House Kamuha pair well with
Aftershock because after you land you
Kaiten or x-restu your basic attack will be very strong.
|
Kaiten
Slot: A
Taka flips over his target, cutting it with his switchblade. Taka is invulnerable to damage and negative effects while in mid-air. |
This basically is your
Reflex Block because you are immune to negative effect (e.x. like silence, stun, or root). This could be used when you are waiting for the enemy to go into the bush, after that pair up with
X-Retsu and your enemy could be dead or almost dead.
|
Kaku
Slot: B
Taka throws a smoke bomb at his feet and becomes invisible while gaining increased movement speed.
- Invisibility ends early if he strikes a target or takes direct damage.
- Turrets, Scout Traps and Flare Guns can still see Taka while he is invisible.
|
This ability is your escape ability and also your healer. If you are the only one left on the team and you're are trying to prevent the ace. Use this ability to run away and prevent that ace. If you are playing rank matches then go to the side or the opposite direction because the enemy team might throw a
Flare in the front of them.
|
X-Retsu
Slot: C
Taka bursts through his target for massive damage and gains Ki Stacks. The target suffers a mortal wound (reduced healing) and takes damage per second for the next 3s. The wound's duration is refreshed whenever Taka Mortal Strikes this target. |
This is your main source of burst damage and gap closer. I recommend using this at the start of the fight so you will gain some kind of advantage in health. The enemy would be at half life after your
X-Retsu.
Item Explanation Top
Pro and Con of Cp Taka Top
Pros
- Huge burst damage
- low cooldown
- Get in and out tactic
Cons
- Rely heavily on ability
- Can be countered by
Slumbering Husk
- basic attack is very very weak
- can't fight tanky enemies like
Phinn,
Lance, and
Catherine
Early Game ( Start - 7 min) Top
At the start of the match, buy a
Crystal Bit, a
Energy Battery, and a
Halcyon Potion to help you survive the jungle. Then go to the elder treant, hope that your captain had bought
Flare to see where the enemy team is. If the enemy team is not there, you could go and get that elder treant. If the enemy team come and try to steal that. Back off and try to get the last-hit. Don't let them get the first blood or they will have a huge advantage in gold. After that, clear the jungle and sometimes go up to the lane to get a kill. After 4 min, go to the jungle shop and grab a
Hourglass, a
Stormguard Banner (if you have the money) or a
Oakheart, and probably a
Sprint Boots. If you have spare gold, you could upgrade you
Crystal Bit into a
Eclipse Prism. Do some more jungle lap and grab some T1 defensive item to help to survive when team fights break out. Avoid team fights if at least until you get to level 6
Mid Game (7 min - 15 min) Top
By now you should finish
Aftershock (that is what I usually do) or whatever T3 item you are building. You should also at level 6 and unlock
X-Retsu by now. You should also start to build
Broken Myth if the enemy is starting to build shield to counter you, if not you could work your way to the
Shatterglass. If you still feel that you are too squishy, upgrade your T1 item to T2.
Late game (15 min - End) Top
By now you should finish all the core, if you have done that then you can be an unstoppable assassin. You should also start to finish your defensive item. Buy atlas paudron against high attack speed hero or a metaljacket if they don't build attack speed. But you always need to travel with your team to prevent from being ambush. Let your captain check the brush first before beginning a team fight Buy
Crystal Infusion whenever you can to empower your ability. When in a team fight. target the carry -> warrior/assassin -> Roamer.

Taka's Buddies (Captain) Top
Here are some heroes that can work well with
Taka
|
|
|
Vanguard|Gautlet|Tanky |
| text here |
Ardan pair extremely well with
Taka. He can make
Taka become stickier to heroes with his
Vanguard. If the enemy try to run away from
Taka, he can drop his
Gauntlet to trap the enemy in there so
Taka can finish them off
|
|
|
Mobility|Lockdown|Tanky |
| text here |
Lance can help
Taka get out of sticky situation by stunning the enemy team or pushing them back with his
Gythian Wall. His
Impale can also help root the enemy so
Taka can catch up (
Taka won't
probably need it because he can always use his
Kaku or
X-Retsu to catch up to his enemy
|
|
|
Lockdown|Silence|Extremly Tanky |
| text here |
Using
Merciless Pursuit,
Catherine can lock down an enemy for
Taka to kill.
Blast Tremor can silence the enemy so they can't use their boots to run to the safety of their Crystal Sentry of their turret.
Stormguard can make her almost invincible, so she can stay in the fight longer to help her teammates (including
Taka)

Heal|Bright Bulwark|Teleporting |

Her
Imperial Sigil can be helpful when you are not fighting. When you are in a team fight, you usually move around a lot so
Imperial Sigil won't be that helpful.
Bright Bulwark can help you get out of some devastation ability that could spell death for
Taka, like
Afterburn,
Pouncy Fun,
Yummy Catnip Frenzy, ...
|
|
|
Scout|Stealth|Slow |
| text here |
Flicker
Fairy Dust can slow the enemy and can be used both offensive and defensive. Offensive so
Taka and his teammates can catch up. Defensive so
Taka] and his teammates can run away leaving
Flicker died like a hero. His stealth can help him scout ahead for danger. Team stealth can help
Taka surprise the enemy and use
Kaku afterwards.

Crowd Control|Tanky|Fortified Health |
| text here |
Having a
Phinn can make
Taka become more tanky with his
Polite Company. His
Forced Accord can pull the enemy back if they attempt to run away unless they
Reflex Block it).
Quibble can also stun the enemy team and
Taka's team can go ham when they are being stunned. But
Phinn is SUPER slow, the total opposite of
Taka, so you will have to wait many time for him to catch up.

|
Heal|Stun|Teleporting |
| text here |
His heal is not as good as
Lyra heal. He does have a good stun but in higher tier matches, they will just block it. If he heals you while you are invisible, he will also reveal where your location.

Woof|Speed boost|Wound |

Fortress is good for only early heroes (Not really
Taka). His wound can be great that combo with your ULT, bit other than that nothing else really benefit

Using
Buckshot Bonanza,
Gwen could scout ahead and reveal enemies so
Taka don't have to waste time using
Kaku to check the bush every single time.
Aces High can also become useful because of the stun and (if lucky) can stun enemies out from their stealth.
