Staff Pick!!!!!
I'm not sure how this seriously neglected guide got staff pick after my month's hiatus of anything Vainglory; too much schoolwork.
I'm honored to have not one, not two, but
three of my guides to be featured, even crazier is that
two of the featured guides are in the same week, how crazy is that!?
Krul's Early Game Weakness Top
As we all know, Krul is absolutely trash in the beginning of the game in higher ELO.
Jungle invades against him are highly common, especially from Reim, Rona, Glaive, Taka, and Koshka.
The amount of mobility on these champs, excluding Reim, allow them to move back and forth, kiting Krul to death. Pair that up with a Ardan Vengence Speed buff/ Fortress lunge/ Catherine Stun, Krul is a dead man walking. (Pun intended)
For that reason, FOCUS ON THE ROAMER.
Kill that sucker while your roamer locks down the other JG. After that, the other JG is left to fend both of you off.
If they don't invade, do not invade them, unless you can catch them at the Jungle Shop.
In that case, go ham on them.
(These builds are actually able to be played at anytime, as it allows Krul to have even more burst to secure kills or just wreck squishy heroes.)
Strategies against Reim Top
GENERAL TIPS
- Don't stand and take his Winter Spires. Sounds dumb, but many people just do.
- Stutter step Reim and move in circles. If you don't know what stutter stepping is, search up a video of Ciderhelm Stutter stepping.
- Don't chase him unless he's out of mana.
- If you ever see a Reim without a Eve of Harvest, GET HIM.
- Don't engage when his Fortified health is full, it gives him a much bigger edge over you. Simply wait and dodge his Frost Spires.
Alternating Current Top
In the beginning of the game, you're heavily reliant on your auto attacks and the Active on Spectral Smite.
After getting
Alternating Current you'll see a notable difference, Tornado Trigger might give you that extra 10% Attack Speed, Crit Chance and Damage, but AC gives you an extra
60 Crystal Power and every other attack does 70% of your CP as damage, which is 60 * 0.7 = 42.
Your B, or Spectral Smite, will also give you EXTRA
Health and
Crystal Damage. Meaning you will have the ability to burst people down and regain even more health than before.
That smite will nuke most Assassins/ Laners and destroy Reim's annoying fortified health bar, sometimes even removing half of Reim's health too; working just as well with other Warriors.
Dead Man's Rush also receives a larger Health Barrier and has a small amount of CP damage on usage.
Now, it's a trade off, A.Current on a WP Krul is an entirely early game based decision.
Late game, it falls off heavily compared to a Sorrowblade.
Weapon Notes Top
A Sorrow Blade or Serpent Mask is very helpful, more so than an Alternating Current.
Late Game you'll want to switch A.Current out or just get a S.Blade or S.Mask at the start.
Your Smite might not heal you as much, but now your Basic Attacks shall do that for you.
However,
if you are steamrolling/snowballing through the game, just keep Alternating Current.
Sorrow Blade gives you Raw WP. It helps you do more damage and raises Krul's Life steal.
Serpent Mask allows Krul's Basic Attack to actually over heal once he reaches seven Stacks of Spectral Smite Passive on his target.
The Lifesteal bonus adds onto his passive on Spec. Smite.
At level 12 without Serpent Mask Spec. Smite LFSL Bonus:
Assuming it is Overdrived. (Max Points into Ablity)
Stack 1: 12% LFSL
Stack 2: 24% LFSL
Stack 3: 36% LFSL
Stack 4: 48% LFSL
Stack 5: 60% LFSL
Stack 6: 72% LFSL
Stack 7: 84% LFSL
Stack 8: 96% LFSL
At level 12 with Serpent Mask Passive Spec. Smite LFSL Bonus:
Stack 1: 37% LFSL
Stack 2: 49% LFSL
Stack 3: 61% LFSL
Stack 4: 73% LFSL
Stack 5: 85% LFSL
Stack 6: 97% LFSL
Stack 7: 109% LFSL
Stack 8: 121% LFSL
That is pretty good lifesteal if you ask me.
I will keep updating this build, I'm just realllly lazy right now.
I also have my first guide up, it's for Taka.
