On Farming Top
Farming has been a huge problem for a lot of crystal takas. I have a solution that almost always works out well.
1) prioritise
Tension Bow. early game farm = secure
2) after rushing
Tension Bow, get
Blazing Salvo. this ensures you have good dps for farming in midgame, and also leaving your options open to crystal or weapon. at this point, you choose if you want to go weapon or crystal based on your laner (this guide tells you what to do if you go for crystal)
3) by late game, you shouldve gotten
Alternating Current, so yeah. dps problems solved
Starting Strategy Top
Notice the scout trap among the starter items. I always place a scout trap in the shop bush first thing, and then proceed to take the farm right next to it with my roamer. This increases security in the shop, which is really important because porting home wastes time that could be spent farming or ganking. In a really good game, I might only port home 3 times.
Also, in the skill progression, I took
Kaku as my first skill. This is actually an offensive tactic, because in the case that my team goes for an early jungle invade, the enemy team always focuses Taka first. So, what I do is, I "tank" for the team until I have half my health bar left, then I disappear. They shift their attention to somebody else, then I reappear with close to full stacks on my heroic perk and continue dealing damage, but I remain cautious and maintain safe positioning with the speed boost after critical strikes. this maximises the damage output of the team by distributing the damage taken from enemies among all of us.
Max your
Kaiten asap, the less mana you use on kaiten the more you have for your
X-Retsu and
Kaku
Fighting Top
When in teamfights midgame or after, always try to do a hit and run.
X-Retsu>attack once (
Tension Bow proc)>
Kaiten>run away using
Kaku and wait for your cooldown
^at any point in the above cycle, if you're taking too much damage, gtfo.
then go in again. The mortal wound from
X-Retsu will have maxed your broken myth stacks and you'll deal even more damage. melt em
A skillful crystal Taka will take note of the skills used by the enemy team and try to attack when stuns are on cooldown, or alternatively, be ready to use reflex block. DO NOT EVER initiate. let your tank go in, get a good visual, and focus down the squishiest or closest to death enemy hero. And whatever you do, dont miss your ult(or hit a shielded catherine with it)!
special note: When playing against a
Krul, try to anticipate when he will detonate his stacks and disappear before he does it. Stay out of range/in a bush in case somebody has flares. reappear when his stacks have disappeared. This is the Ninja Way (aka relentless trolling)
When you have frostburn, make sure to maximise it. Proc it on a krul so he cant stick to you. Or the main enemy damage dealer, allowing your team to easily focus them. Or when helping a teammate escape.
Lastly, REMEMBER THAT ITS ABOUT THE TEAM. A reason why a lot of people hate crystal Takas is because they cant synergise with the team properly. work with your team, man. if you sneak away from a losing teamfight to farm in enemy jungle, make sure it pays off FOR THE TEAM later on. use your crucible when AOE ults come from enemy team. It's about winning, not getting kills.
its time to get our heads out of our asses Top
Let's be real. Crystal Taka has a very bad rep for running away in teamfights, never to come back/only to come back and get killed and giving a free ace, and is significantly harder to play than WP taka. Crystal Taka is often weak in mid game because people build him so he can't farm very well.
Everybody hates Crystal Taka.
So why are you making this guide? Top
Because Crystal Taka has SO MUCH POTENTIAL! A well played crystal Taka (with a good team comp) can destroy the enemy team like a Hulk that can run really fast.
I equally like crystal and weapon taka (i just really like playing taka) because he's extremely mobile and serves the team well in teamfights by acting as a disruptor/assassin. The thing is, I choose between crystal and weapon depending on which my laner goes for (if they go crystal, i go weapon, vice versa.)
Taka is a vision master up til mid game because I can use him to sneak into enemy jungle and place scout traps, so I know when to engage and get a kill. (after midgame the enemies wouldve known what you were doing so it wouldnt be worth it to waste any more money on flares). Going crystal Taka makes his abilities more frequently available, meaning more stealth and vision. Another thing is that Crystal Taka imo is a better chaser than weapon taka, bc his gap closer
X-Retsu is more frequently avaible and
Kaku gives a significant speed boost, as well as frostburn slowing enemies like a mofo
also im insane
THANK FOR READING Top
This is my first build guide ever written, because I feel like crystal Taka is highly misunderstood. Hope you guys have fun in the Halcyon Fold. Any comments and feedback are welcome!
