Introduction Top
Hi. I'm pretty new to VainGlory and haven't even unlocked ranked mode yet. I'm not part of a guild and normally just do solo queue. I'm starting to play more than I usually do and I thought I should make a guide to help me improve on the game. I'm still getting used to looking at the mini map every 1-10 seconds and I like to overextend sometimes. My main problem is that I can never click on my abilities or items to pop them unless I look at them because I'm still not used to where they are on the screen and how hard to press them :) It always activates on my 2nd or 3rd try but by then it's not as helpful. Catherine is my favorite hero and I was wondering if anyone could help me with my build. I was also wondering when it's a good time to take Kraken or Gold Mine when you haven't aced the other team. And what's the best way to deal with Kestrel besides flares and focusing her? Thanks.

5. LEAD TEAM FIGHTS WITH BLAST TREMOR
6. FOLLOW WITH MERCILESS PURSUIT

8. POP YOUR ITEMS WHEN HELPFUL

What 4th Item do I Get? Top
Get this if faced with a hero with great crowd control abilities such as Adagio's Ult or Catherine's Blast Tremor. Also get this if your carry is being stunned down by abilities like Krul's Ult or Glaive's Afterburn. Highly Recommended
Get this if you want your team not to hate you because you can never catch up or get out of sticky situations. Highly Recommended
Get this if you don't want your team to be shredded by that stupid Krul or Saw that attacks like a million times per second. Recommended
Only get this if you're ahead and want the extra damage or your team is having trouble finishing off enemies because they die faster than the enemy heroes die. Kind of Recommended
What Should my Last 2 Items Be? Top
See above explanations. All of these are highly recommended for the 2 non-core item slots.
Get this if you are getting melted by that annoying Taka that went CP and is bursting your team and yourself down faster than Usain Bolt. The reflex block is great for this and the extra tank stats make you even more unkillable. Recommended
Get this if your team is winning and you don't need any of the highly recommended items. Also get this if you are constantly losing fights because your abilities aren't up or you don't have energy. This is very helpful for spamming your aftershock. Recommended
Get this if you already have Warhorn but still can't stick to your enemies. Kind of recommended
Only get this if your team is stupid and went double weapon power and your opponents are smart and got armor. But then again, if your teammates are that much dumber than your opponents you might as well surrender anyway :)
Only get this if you have absolutely nothing to buy. If you are at the point where this is the item that will most benefit your team, you've probably won by then anyway.
Get these if you are getting ready for an important team fight later in the game or when your team is very behind and you need to all double infuse and fight, fight, fight in order to win. By that time you'll most likely have already lost tho.

There isn't a threat meter because I haven't played enough matches and in casual I usually just play against the free heroes or the heroes that cost 800 gold.
