Introduction Top
Hi Everyone!!
I would like to say that I play Taka pretty well, under certain circumstances.... :)
This build is best for those who tend to play
more aggressive and want a well-rounded build to balance that out.
Also, I think this will work well with
support characters (esp.
Fortress or
Ardan) but you should still be okay if you are jungling by yourself (just play with caution!)
**I highly recommend y'all to read what I wrote about the defense items down below because what you should build really depends on the heroes you are against!!!
Please feel free to leave a comment and give me tips/improvements as I am still learning the do's and not do's of the game! <3
First Buy and First 5 Min Tactics Top
With the new update, there is a 10 second wait time before anybody on either team can move. So during this time, buy your first buy items and once that 10 seconds are up,
RUN RUN RUN to the
lower bottom 2 minions in the enemy jungle. Don't get greedy and continue to steal the enemies' farm unless you are positive you can scare/kill the enemy. I usually just get these two minions and then go back to my side of the jungle, starting with my bottom two minions.
You generally should not need to use your
Halcyon Potion at the very beginning as killing the big jungle minions should give you back enough health. They are just nice to have if you get swept up in jungle fights
*focus on leveling to level 6 because that is really when Taka is able to do significant damage with
X-Retsu
*if you are the only player in the jungle on your team, never initiate fights. Taka is too fragile for that
Early and Early --> Mid Game Top
Stack two
Weapon Blade and then purchase
Six Sins and
Piercing Spear. After purchasing these two weapon items and
Sprint Boots, building your first
tier 3 weapon item (
Tension Bow) should always be your first priority.
[*] Continue to buy health potions if needed.
[*] Don't forget to check up on your lane to help gank the other team!!
I generally build some sort of defense item after getting
Tension Bow because I get scared LOL and get real aggressive with my play style at times. Look at what the other team is mostly building and change your
tier 1
Light Shield (or keep it) based on what they have. If the main damage distributor is building
weapon power, then
replace the shield with
Light Armor. If
crystal power, then continue with the
Light Shield. (Generally I find myself building a
Fountain of Renewal because it is a better item for the team and gives you a boost of health, but if the majority of the enemy team is building
weapon power, then DEFINITELY go for
Metal Jacket instead)
Mid Game and Mid --> Late Game Top
At this point, hopefully you should have the following
tier 3 items:
Tension Bow,
Journey Boots,
Fountain of Renewal.
Some people are surprised to see other people building Taka with all crystal items. Though I do not find that the smartest move, there is some sense to it with Taka's starting stats. I find myself at this point to be
lacking mana all the time and, as a result, losing many opportunities to kill almost dead enemies HAHA. That is the reason for the
Heavy Prism and
Blazing Salvo (eventually becoming the
Alternating Current). Trust me and buy the crystal item!!!
[*] One crystal item is enough, so do not go wasting space with building another one.
Moreover, I feel like my basic attacks are not fast enough at this point of the game, so if I have space and money, I start building
Blazing Salvo and
Lucky Strike to get
Tornado Trigger (*To be honest, I am not sure if this is the smartest move so please leave a comment on what you think about this addition to this build!)
***EDIT: I now build
Serpent Mask, the
Sorrowblade for quick and easy damage. No more
Tornado Trigger!
For my
last item slot, I tend to buy another defense item. Again, I do this because of my aggressive game play. What goes in this slot is really up to you,
based on your play style or how you want to counter your opponent's build. If you are more skilled in dodging attacks, then definitely replace
Aegis with a weapon item (may I suggest
Serpent Mask or
Tyrant's Monocle). I prefer the defensive item because in times of escape, you can stack all your actives from
Journey Boots,
Fountain of Renewal, and
Aegis and GET THE H-E-L-L OUT OF THERE.
[*] Again the type of defense item I get depends on the opponent's build so you could possibly replace
Aegis with
Crucible or
Metal Jacket
*** As I have gotten more experienced with Taka, I do not need to build two defense items because I figured that if I can kill the enemy faster than he can me, then why waste money on defense. So, instead
Sorrowblade takes that spot. The only time I have two defensive items now is if I am in the jungle alone and the other team has double teaming really well in the jungle.
[*]
Weapon Infusion and
Crystal Infusion are really going to help turn the tables in the game. When you predict a team fight is coming up, it is going to be a good investment to get the
Weapon Infusion,
even if you are not done with your entire build. If you are rich and not wish to buy any other items, then get both the weapon and crystal.
Closing Remarks and Tips Top
Who should you be excited to play with?
Fortress or
Ardan are going to be
ESSENTIAL to helping you level super fast and to invading the enemy jungle (especially early game and if the other team only has one player in the jungle). Your support team mate should be taking the damage most of the time and letting you take all the last hits in the jungle unless absolutely necessary (e.g. they need the money for something or need to regenerate health).
Who should you be scared of:
Krul,
Glaive,
Celeste
[*] Especially early game, you are going to
DIE SO HARDDD if you 1 v 1 against
Krul. His life steal is killer and I honestly do not know how I feel about that.
[*] For
Glaive and any other tank character, just be cautious of their builds because as a tank, Taka's
squishy body is not going to do so hot. Avoid getting stunned with your
Kaku (box -I LOVE THIS THING SO MUCH) and use the hit-and-run tactic repeatedly if you are waiting on the rest of the team to help you.
[*] The most annoying thing about Celeste is her
Heliogenesis combined with
Core Collapse if you get caught up with it. The
Heliogenesis gives temporary vision to the other team and if you get hit with
Core Collapse, your
Kaku (box) is literally the most useless thing ever. The other team will be able to see you if you are trying to escape and boom, you are dead. There is really nothing you can do about this except for spamming your active perks from
Fountain of Renewal,
Journey Boots,
Crucible and hopefully using your
Kaku skill if it cools down fast enough.
Tip:
the new update made
Kaiten SUPER HELPFUL as you can use it like a
Reflex Block. If you use this skill, you are invincible to certain attacks. For example, if
Ardan activates his Gaunlet, and you use
Kaiten to jump over a minion nearby, you can avoid the stun of his Gaunlet. I believe this perk works similarly with Koshka's ultimate as well, but I am not sure.
Overall, you can say that this build is sort of a mess. BUT IT WORKS, for me at least. \_()_/
