House Kamuha
Slot: Heroic Perk
Every 5 seconds, Taka's next basic attack is replaced with a Mortal Strike. Mortal Strikes deal 40 (+30% weapon ratio) bonus damage and grant Taka a burst of move speed. Whenever Taka Mortal Strikes or uses an ability, he gains a stack of Ki, which speeds up his Mortal Strike timer by 0.9 secs and grants 20% cooldown speed. (5 Ki stacks max.)
Kaiten
Slot: A
Taka flips over his target, cutting it with his switchblade. Taka is invulnerable to damage & debuffs while in mid-air.
Kaku
Slot: B
Taka throws a smoke bomb at his feet, vanishing from enemy sight and gaining move speed. This illusion ends early if he strikes a target or he takes direct damage. Turrets and Flare Guns can still see Taka. This ability heals Taka while he is invisible.
X-Retsu
Slot: C
Taka bursts through his target, carving an X with his switchblades for lethal damage. The target suffers a mortal wound, reducing its healing by 50% and taking damage per second over the next 3 seconds. The wound's duration is refreshed whenever Taka mortal strikes this target. Grants bonus Ki stacks upon use based on number of ability points in X-Retsu.
Introduction: Tactics Top
This is a
crystal Taka build. His play style is vastly different from weapon Taka. The crystal Taka focuses on the tactic of,"Get in, get out." Therefore, your general tactic is going to be:

Thwak

Depending on how much armor the enemy has, they'll either be dead, or have to run away. Try to use this combo as much as you can while your teammates are also doing their damage.
Sometimes it's best to not do this at all, and instead position yourself with a Kaku to find a better time and angle to attack.
It's judgement skills that come with practice and experience.

Sharpening Your Switch Blades: First Four Minutes Top
There are a couple ways to play the first four minutes of the game before the jungle shop spawns, but first, you're going to want to buy one
weapon blade, one
oakheart, and one
halcyon potion. You may be wondering why were buying a
weapon blade instead of a
crystal bit. Well, there are two reasons. Firstly, early game, boosting your weapon damage is going to help if you have to confront a foe early game. And if your team decides to attack the middle treant, it's helpful to be able to do the damage needed. Second, it throws the enemy off, there is the potential that they'll waste a little bit of gold on armor because you show them a
weapon item.
After visiting the middle monster, either attacking it or not, your going to want to rotate from bottom creatures to the top ones. Afterwords there are two options:
|
Go back to base and make a few purchases.
|
Here you're going to teleport back to base and start working towards two
crystal bits and a
stormguard banner. You might not be able to get all of them immediately, but you'll want to start making your way towards them. Afterwords you'll want to either support your lane or continue farming, depending on whether the lane is feeling any pressure.
|
Or
|
Go offensive in the lane.
|
Feeling pretty confident? Go kill the laner. You may need some help from the roam and your laner, but if all goes well you'll have some extra gold to spend. If you do this go to shop and buy the items mentioned above.
|
After one of these actions are taken, continue farming. As you farm the jungle make an occasional drop by the lane to try and kill the laner, but never
abandon your jungle farming. You need gold, lots of it, and it's not going to help if you stay in the lane and steal all the laners gold. It's best to farm and go to the lane when support is needed.
By the fourth minute of the game, if all goes well you should be around level four with three points into
kaiten and one into
kaku. You should also have at least two
crystal bits, a
stormguard banner, and an
hourglass. If you have extra gold buy either a
heavy prism or
chronograph.
The fun is about to begin...
"It's Time for You to Panic." -Taka: Tactics and Items for Minutes 5-15. Top
Minute 5 is around when Taka starts to hit his stride. Around this time you're going to want to start buying things on the way towards
shatterglass,
stormcrown, and
sprint boots. Extra gold should also be spent towards a defensive item.
Now, there's a very important thing I will mention here. At level five, if you skip out on upgrading
Kaku, you can have a level four
kaiten, a level one
x-retsu, and a level one
kaku at level six. This is helpful if you wish to improve your damage output. You can alternatively put the level five ability point into
kaku for a little extra health regen.
At level six you will get
x-retsu, and the fun can begin. Because of the way the ability works, you can leap in from great distances and deal a massive chunk of damage. It also applies
mortal wound, making it harder for the target to heal, as well as a little bit of damage over time, boosted by
crystal power. Then, you use
kaiten,Taka basic attacks, and refreshes the damage over time. If the target has no shield or health items, they will die, either from their bleeding wounds (damage over time) or from your massive burst damage.
Now, if the enemy has been built or is building towards
aegis, you're going to want to counter it by using your available slots to rush
broken myth. If they are not doing that (stupidly) go for
aftershock first. Either way you'll want to get both items. Unless you are dying a lot, your defense item is going to be low priority, you may actually never build it if the enemy can't manage to lock you down. Build your movement item towards
halcyon chargers as need. (Ex.You're too slow to get away from the enemy, or get towards a target. Most of the time
Kaku should allow you to move quickly)
You should continue farming and going to the lane up until level twelve, unless your team needs you to be around them for team fights. Of course, this isn't an exact science, sometimes you're just going to repeatedly kill the laner and go for turrets.
Be where the team needs you. Once you are level twelve, stay with your team, assassinate enemies, capture objectives.
____________________________________________________
At minute 15 the karaken will spawn. Help your team capture kraken. Kill enemies as needed.
Conclusion - Path to Victory: Minutes 15+ Top
Around mother end of minutes 15-20 you should have your full item build, or at least most of it. If your team is about to go for kraken or you need to pull of an ace, get a
crystal infusion to boost your damage. Beyond that there's not much else to say at this point.
Taka takes practice. Timing, instinct, and experience are needed to play him effectively. Sometimes you may need something quite different from what I've mentioned above.
Final notes:
- Save your kaiten a little while longer if you keep getting stunned before you can pull off
kaku.
- Run a little ways off when you use
Kaku, either into a bush or slightly behind your captain. Then once your abilities are back up, dash back in.
Tips and Tricks. Top
Tip 1:Because of Taka's perk,
house kamuha, ocasionally you can use a "mortal strike" allowing him to move faster. Keep this in mind while fleeing/pursuing.
Tip 2:Sometimes running to the jungle miner during the early game can be safer than going all the way to the lane turrets.
Tip 3:Use pings on which enemy you're going to attack, get some help taking them down if you can.
Tip 4:During a team fight, if you have low health, use
kaku to run a little bit away, and if you're close to a wall, to the other side. This prevents enemy vision, while you still have it. Then, you can
X-retsu through the wall!
How to use Aftershock on Taka: So this is a problem I had for the longest time and didn't even realize until recently. Between your aftershock uses there is a 1.5 second cooldown. So make sure that you wait for that cooldown to wear off before going from X-Retsu to Kaiten.
