HI! I'm wockamx(don't try to pronounce it, you cannot). This is my first guide, so please be generous if I make some mistakes. Today we're looking at lance, a tanky roamer who is capable of defending his allies. With his abilities, he could chase down enemies, defend their attack, and most importantly, protect his allies.Crystal build increases his CC(crowd control) time, and extra energy and regen changes to 'stamina'.
About Lance/Abilities Top
Lance is a formal tanker who is able to stand against enemy attacks.

Impale
Slot: A
Lance lunges forward and strikes through his opponents, dealing weapon damage and rooting them in place (max 1.6s).
- Overdrive: At max rank, ths ability also resets the cooldown of Combat Roll if Lance hits an enemy.
- If this attack hits at least one enemy, Lance will immediately recover from the ability.
- Deals reduced damage to minions.

Partisan's Technique
Slot: Heroic Perk
Lance's basic attacks damage every target along their path. However, his attacks are slow to land and attack speed is less effective on him.
Instead of energy, Lance uses stamina to activate his abilities. Purchasing items with energy and energy regeneration increases his stamina and stamina regeneration.
- Max Stamina: 100 + 30% Max Energy

Use his ult to position him, B to stun, and A to root enemies. If used wisely, lance can be a big threat is the halcyon fold.
*tip: while ganking, initiate with A, root them in place. then rush to the enemy and push them to your turret, stunning them or giving allies a chance to attack.
Start of the Game: You all know this. Roamer should always buy the contract as their first item.
Early game: Go for the fountain, a must-have item for all roamers. You should buy a pair of boots to speed you up, since you are naturally slow.
Mid-game: You should have a fountain of renewal completed. This is where the build can change. If you face enemies like Taka of Kestrel who can sneak in, make sure to grab a
Contraption. If not, you may grab a Warhorn. Also grab
Chronograph for more energy and reduced cool-down.
Core: You should have a
Fountain of Renewal, a
Journey Boots and a
Contraption or Warhorn. To make you tankier, grab some
Metal Jacket or
Atlas Pauldron depending on your enemies. You should also have
Clockwork in your inventory. Here's a tip: If you want to have longer stun and higher defense, grab a
Shatterglass. It makes your B ability stronger, as well as extending the time of your CC(rooting, stun).
How to Use Lance Top
Lance is a very difficult hero, and he's hard to master. When you are having a fight, always remember to position yourself wisely, where you can easily stun the enemies by pushing them to the wall. Combat Roll helps you to position yourself easily, because of its high mobility and short cooldown. Remember, his ult can go through walls. Use this as your advantage to chasing/escaping.
For Lance, don't forget to land combos. Use your abilities wisely to either attack the enemy or defend your allies from them. Baiscally, you can either root them and push them or push them of root them. Your choice. Try to land a stun if you are in a crowded area like the jungles.
Also, try your best to land your abilities. Lance gains advantage if he lands his abilites, but if he doesn't, he can easily be in trouble. His Impale should be used from a distance. If you use it when's you're close, you will miss it. Remember, COMBO. His abilities are what it takes to win the battle or lose it.
