Threat Hero Notes

2
Celeste Celeste's extreme squishiness makes her an easy target as long as you avoid her stun.
2
Petal Petal, also squishy like Celeste is easy money, just watch out for her spontaneous combustion. (does anyone else feel super satisfied when they stomp on petal?)
3
SAW Both crystal and weapon Saw are typically easy targets to terminate. Even when caught in suppressing fire use the rocket leap to escape, stun and remove Saw's stacks.
3
Skaarf Skaarf should be pretty easy to terminate as long as you don't get stuck in the goop and don't get fan of flames stacked up on you.
3
Ringo If you haven't caught on by now, basically all laners are easy targets. Ringo is no different.
4
Fortress Fortress should be relatively easy to terminate as long as he is alone.
4
Glaive Glaive can be deadly if he hits you with his afterburner other wise he's practically dead.
5
Ardan Ardan shouldn't be too hard to terminate because he usually won't be able to deal any damage. But watch out, sadly you can't jump over his gauntlet.
6
Koshka Koshka is similar to Taka with her smooth maueverability but is a little bit easier to land hits on. Try to stun her with Joule's rocket leap.
6
Catherine Catherine is little bit tougher to terminate because she can stun and deflect tons of damage. Try to target the carry and leave Catherine for last.
6
Rona Both crystal and weapon Rona can be difficult becuase of her lifesteal. Make sure you land those thunder strikes on her.
6
Vox Vox can be pretty hard to hit becuase of his ability to evade you with his sonic zoom. Be wary.
7
Joule Whichever Joule gets the jump on the other usually comes out on top.
7
Adagio Adagio is quite tough to take at because of his high hit points and ability to slow, stun and heal. Be careful of going one on one with Adagio because he might survive long enough for his teammates to help him out.
8
Krul Krul is one of the deadliest threats with his regen health abilities and barriers. Try to avoid going one on one with Krul and use rocket leap as an evasive move.
9
Taka Taka is probably Joule's worst night mare because of his evasiveness allowing him to easily avoid all of Joule's abilities. Avoid Taka at all costs unless you have a 2v1 or 3v2 situation.

Overall Goal of the Guide Top

Before we start I want to let you know that this is my first ever guide, and I hope you find it useful. I've always loved to play as Joule, even before she was buffed. Though I wouldn't say I'm a pro at Vain Glory, I do have 285 wins under my belt and a karma of level 20 and I hope that at least some of that experience will be seen in this guide. I would love for any feed back or critiques on how to make this build/guide any better down below. Enjoy :)

At the start... Top

First off, this build can be both played in the LANE and JUNGLE. It is a versatile build with no obvious strengths or weaknesses when played in either lane or jungle. If starting in lane though, buy a Book of Eulogies instead of a Weapon Blade for health but continue to follow the build after that.

Early Game Top

Joule isn't necessarily weak or strong in the early game. She is able to hold her own and take out enemies in both the lane and jungle with her ability to lock down enemies with her Rocket Leap and finish them off with basic attacks and Thunder Strike. After buying the Weapon Blade immediately buy Sprint Boots for chase downs and escapes. I typically try to keep two Halcyon Potion on me at all times up until the 15:00 mark to keep up my health and energy. The first tier 3 item to get is a Sorrowblade which should allow Joule to deal massive damage with her thunder strikes to all enemies except the tankiest ones.

Mid-Game Top

By the time you have bought the Sorrowblade you should be around level 8. This is when the real fun starts. At level 8 you are able to overdrive Thunder Strike and therefore you can land critical hits with it. This is why Tyrant's Monocle should be the next tier 3 weapon you buy. After that, buy Travel Boots to keep up with the pace of the game. If you did relatively well or OK in the early game you shouldn't have problems with dying because of Joule's natural tankiness from Heavy Plating.

Late Game/Final Top

Late game should be when you focus and pushing and going in for more kills. After getting Travel Boots go for the Serpent Mask for life sustain. Buy infusions if team fights consistently happen.

Slot 5
Get a defensive item after Serpent Mask to counter your enemies.

Slot 6
If you somehow haven't terminated the enemy team by now, I would advise getting more weapon power with Sorrowblade or increasing attack speed with Tornado Trigger.

Abilties Top

Heavy Plating

Heavy plating gives Joule's extra tankiness allowing her to survive longer without the help of defensive items until the late game. More useful than you think.

Rocket Leap

Rocket Leap is an extremely useful ability for chase downs, stunning and escaping. Make sure the target is in the middle of the target circle for a almost guaranteed stun. When overdriven the cool down is decreased by a whole nine seconds. More Stuns!! One of my favorite things to do in all of Vain Glory is to use this ability to jump over a wall and escape near death.

Thunder Strike

Thunder strike will be your best friend as it came be spammed to deal massive damage to most enemies. Especially when overdriven thunder strike can deal massive critical damage to enemies. The hardest part about thunder strike is to actually hit your enemies with it, but practice makes perfect.

Big Red Button

Big Red Button though a great ability when going crystal Joule, sucks and is almost complete useless with a weapon Joule. This is why it is not maxed out. Notice I said ALMOST completely useless, it is OK to use when all three enemies are standing in a line practically begging to be buttoned.
