Beware, this Krul build is not tank, you still need a supporter.
Now, because Krul is a lategame hero, so for his sake, don't be to eager into combat at level 1-5. Focus on farming (if enemies trying to take over your jungle, ping your laner to go to enemy's jungle to steal farm while you take his place on the lane).
First, maxed your Spectral Smite. Why? Because it gives you the burst damage you need to finish off enemies. Remember, this is not a tank build. Then take your Dead Man's Rush maxed too and only uprade Ultimate at leve 6 and 12. Ultimate will not the main damage dealer for Krul and taking it maxed will not help your stun longer.
A small trick I usually use with his Ultimate is: Throw your sword BACKWARD, turn on your shoes, run past your enemy and let it hit on the way BACK. His foe will get stunned up to 4 seconds, the LONGEST stun in Vainglory up-to-date.
Depend on how good you kite (yes, you can kite with Krul), you can buy a Blazing Salvo and a Swift Shooter or 2 Blazing Salvo. Weapon Infusion is recommended when combat at level 6.
Krul is best go with Celeste, Ringo, Vox, those long-ranged heroes with immense ammount of damage. With this build, your mission in combat would be pair up with your support, let enemies focus on both of you while you still can deal damage and apply weaknesses and Spectral Smite's stack AND Breaking Point stack. Let your long ranged hero do his/her job and when an enemy is almost down, you can detonate Spectral Smite to regen and continue to the other heroes. After one enemies down, it is most likely enemies will fall back, this is a good time for you to active Shiversteel and finish the job. The Core Item between Atlas/Crucible/Fountain depend on which heroes on both side and if your long ranged hero need more help. Atlas making 1v2 with 2 other attack speed heroes easier while Fountain can save you and your teammate.
