Baron is a very weird character. The effects and ranges of his abilities can be affected by what he builds, by a maximum of 200 weapon or crystal power. People always complain about building hybrid and about people who build hybrid. Building hybrid Baron is probably the smartest thing you can do. HE WAS MADE TO BE BUILT HYBRID!!!!!

Abilities that are affected: Top

Porcupine Mortar- Baron launches artillery toward the target location, damaging enemies on impact. Enemies caught by the explosion are also slowed for a short period of time. Weapon power strengthens the slow(with a cap of 200 WP for a max of 35% slow.) while crystal power increases the range(with a cap of 200 CP for a max of 11m) of the ability.


Jump Jets- After a short delay, Baron launches to the target location, then gains bonus move speed for a short period of time. After landing, his next basic attack fires quickly and reloads instantly. Crystal power can extend the range of the jump while weapon power can shorten the delay of the jump. (I don't know the caps/details for this ability ATM)

Safety First! Top

If you choose to play Baron like this then you would want a VERY TANKY team. If I were to choose my other two teamates I would have them play Lance(jungle) and Phinn(roam). That way I would have two walls of flesh to block most of the damage coming my way, along with any stuns which are (literally) thrown my way or coming at me(Catherine), and I can easily just join in fights a couple seconds after being initiated, thus ensuring I'm not being targeted until it's almost too late. Some other good matches for hybrid Baron are Catherine(stun/block), Lyra(slow/heal/teleport/snare), Krul(aggro/stun), Adagio(nuke/heal), Samuel(sleep), and Ardan(fortify/block/trap).
