Introduction Top

Hi everybody, I'm Peter "lookatme", the captain of Team SNOW. Today I'll tell you about a laner Lyra.

Lyra is one of the funniest heroes, because all her abilities affect the whole team. You can heal your team, speed up your team, immobilize the enemies or backdoor them. So, Lyra gameplay is really amusing. Immediately after release Lyra was OP, but even after the hotfix, which reduced her crystal ratios, she is still very strong as crystal carry. CP Lyra is the worst nightmare for any melee hero, but she can be countered by Celeste, Skaarf or other heroes which can deal damage from distance.

In teamfights it's better for Lyra to stay away from the enemies, and not to use the ultimate in the beginning. CP Lyra is very thin, so you'll get killed fast, if you try to approach enemies from the rear. The perfect way to make a teamfight is poking the enemies into low HP, and then initiating quickly with the whole team through the ultimate channel.

It is hard to farm the lane, because Lyra has little basic attack power, so I'd recommend you to practice last-hitting in the training mode and casual before playing ranked. Remember that a laner should farm 10 minions a minute, so you've got to have around 50 minions at 5:00 and around 100 – at 10:00.

Principle Arcanum
Heroic perk gives all Lyra's basic attacks crystal ratio, so basically it does the same as Alternating Current. But what's more, if Lyra doesn't move between attacks, the second attack will be more powerful, and will also slow the enemy down. Attacking spends energy, but if there's no energy left, you can still do basic attacks.

Imperial Sigil
Lyra sets up a totem on the ground. You can use it in 4 cases:
1. You want to heal yourself or the allies. Then you (or ally) have to stand on top of the totem and wait for healing.
2. You want to gain additional speed for yourself or an ally. Then set it on your way, and when you step on it, "blow it up" with one more tap on the ability button. It gives you a little healing and increases move speed.
3. If you want to check a bush for enemies, you can place the totem there. But it's better to use Flares for this purpose, and save your Imperial Sigil for something more important.
4. You want to deal damage. Set it directly under the enemy and tap on the button to blow it up before the enemy can get away. This is really important for a CP Lyra, you can attack the enemies under their turrets due to big range of the Imperial Sigil.
Healing doesn't depend on your crystal power, only on your additional health, that's why roam Lyra is very useful, too. Damage, range and healing increase with levels, so we should overdrive this ability.

Bright Bulwark
This ability is the reason why Lyra is so dangerous for melee heroes. She creates an area, which significantly slows the enemies down, take small damage, and the most important, cannot use the abilities that involve moving. Taka can't use Kaiten and X-Retsu, Glaive can't do Afterburn, Skye and Rona can't jump, and so on. If Taka wants to attack Lyra, he'd better kill her with the ultimate and the next basic attack, otherwise Lyra will use her B and Taka gets trapped, unable to run away from the damage. The only way to counter this is using boots to escape the cage as soon as possible. We will overdrive Bright Bulwark on level 12, to get less cooldown time and increase the slow.

Arcane Passage
Lyra has the most amusing ultimate. When we SNOW play as a team, we laugh aloud at the situations that occur with this ultimate. It is so frustrating, when you've just got 1 attack left to kill the enemy, but get caught in the teleport and find yourself far away. Lyra creates a portal, which can transport any hero (ally or enemy) both ways. It stays in place for 8 seconds, and each player can use it twice (the second time only after 4 seconds wait). It allows you to escape from very dangerous situations, approach the enemies from behind, or backdoor the enemy base (that means, go straight to the enemy crystal instead of fighting). In the recent Evil Eight tourney GankStars Cerberus did that – we wanted to fight in the center of the map, but they passed below, teleported over the wall and went for the last remaining turret, hoping to destroy our crystal before we return. We saw that they went by our crystal mine, and managed to return to the base in time. Half second later it'd have been too late. This epic moment became possible thanks to Lyra's ultimate.

Itembuilds Top

The core items are Alternating Current (to empower the basic attacks and attack speed), Broken Myth for damage and Eve of Harvest for energy regeneration and sustainability in teamfights. Defense just as usual, Metal Jacket against weapon power and Aegis against crystal power.
