Threat Hero Notes
1
SAW Taka is hard for laners to pin down and Saw is the penultimate laner.
2
Petal Petal's ultimate is a little scary because Kaku can't save you but the extra gold her minions give you will get you ready before that becomes a problem.
3
Ringo If Ringo gets the upper hand he can kite you. He's just as scared of Taka as any other laner though.
4
Adagio Adiago can be hard to kill quick which is how Taka kills.
4
Skaarf Well played range opponents can be hard but Skaarf in particular poses no special challenge.
5
Joule Idk. Joule doesn't play that often.
6
Krul The Taka/Krul rivalry is well documented. It all depends on skillz and buildz.
7
Catherine Catherine's surprise attack is less scary than Glaive's but she can also be hard to kill.
8
  No Threat
9
Glaive Glaive is the guy who will give you problems in the lane. Put scout mines in the bushes to alert you of his approach or keep your Kaku ready when he's on the map.

Kicking A** And Taking Lane Top

The hardest part about playing lane Taka is actually getting to play lane Taka. Show Taka and someone will pick a traditional laner and AVOID ping you to death if you try to lane (Adiago can be an exception). You either have to show a laner at the character selection screen or leave it blank and hope the other players confirm jungle heroes. Now this is a pity because, while I am far from the greatest player, most of the time that I lane Taka I win. Laners are also typically scared of Taka and it makes them nervous to have him around. And for good reason; get them away from their turret, let them get comfortable by ignoring them and focusing on farming, and then assassinate them out of the blue.

The speed boost from crit hits makes Taka blazingly fast and hard for other laners to pin down. This is really what makes lane Taka so viable. Play Taka like you'd play Ringo; focus on last hits and let your minions do the work. I keep two stacks of Halcyon potions to stay in the fight; in the lane there are no health minions and a trip back to the base is an invitation for the opposing team to come gank your turret (also note too the emphesis on lifesteal items). Turrets are, practically speaking, an extension of the Vain Crystal and should be protected as such. Kaku (smoke bomb) lets me get out if things get too heavy and, when maxed, heals a little. An aggressive progression through boots is also key and another avenue of escape.

Also, once you hit the end game and farming isn't important anymore you've got one hell of a roamer. It's also where I add Flares. If the opponents aren't Taka and don't know to stick together at the end game you can stick with Halcyon potions.

Like most of my builds this is a wide build (neither weapon nor crystal, and giving preference to a wide variety of low level items before upgrading) because the combination of heroes and builds is immense and hard for me to keep track of (esp. on iPhone). If you're getting killed adjust your build accordingly; get armor, get Fountain sooner or switch to Crucible, etc.

Enjoy, and remember: Pingers gonna ping.
