Ability Strategy Top
In this chapter I will break down the strategy behind the abilities, but will not go into detail of what each ability actually does. If you are unsure of the ability, I would suggest learning about them before continuing on.
Shadows Empower Me
Always always always initiate a hero fight with this perk. Krul WILL win the fight if the enemy tries to run, and cant escape, which is exactly what this perk does.
Dead Mans Rush:
When Jungling, DO NOT USE as an initiator! If you basic attack, and then immediately trigger Dead Mans Rush, you will basic attack right after Dead Mans Rush, therefor giving you 3 attacks (2 basic and 1 ability) all in the time of two basic attacks. Makes for much faster jungling.
As for enemy heroes, the same goes, but for different reasons. Do not use as initiator! If you wait to initiate, you are more likely to have the enemy hero attack your shield barrier, not your true health. If you initiate with Dead Mans Rush, you are wasting the health barrier!
Spectral Smite:
This is where Kruls power comes in, and where my Build is centered around. The passive from Spectral smite both SLOWS your enemy and reduces their crystal power! So basically the faster You attack, the slower and weaker they become. This is why attack speed is crucial for Krul. Because if you can get 3 or 4 good attacks in, then no matter how strong your opponent is, it wont matter, because you can attack 6 times for every one attack from him. This combined with the massive life steal makes you a absolute nightmare to attack.
Kruls passive stack from Spectral Smite, is what makes or breaks a player. DON'T use spectral smite unless
A) Your almost dead (Hail Marry, Might as well :P)
B) You have full stacks (Indicated by the flames surrounding the Skull on top of the Hero you are attacking)
C) You know you can kill the enemy! (Important to be able to predict how much damage it will take to kill enemy)
From Hell's Heart:
This ability is up for discretion. Using it as an instigator, is suggested if you have your Shadows Empower Me up and running, so you can close the gap and get to the enemy before the stun wears off. However, using it as an instigator is not smart when your Shadows Empower Me is down, because then by the time you get to your enemy, they will be free to sprint away. Think Before You Throw.
Build Explained Top
Start Game:
Krul needs to use abilities to jungle properly, and needs a small energy boost, and getting the hourglass is perfect. It builds into things we need later, and provides what we need right that moment.
(If you are playing against Taka
ALWAYS have a flare gun in your inventory. Taka is the Anti Krul, so if you are always able to see him when he uses his smoke bomb, then it negates some of the effects that make Taka so good against Krul.)
Early Game:
Get Chronology first, to get the extra energy recharge, and then get swift shooter. After that getting light armor is a good idea because Atlas Pauldron is central to the build. Top it off with sprint boots, because everyone needs sprint boots in their life.
(Early) Mid Game:
Rush Tornado Trigger! Again, the faster you are, the slower they are! Next get Coat of Plates, to further build atlas Pauldron.
(Late) Mid Game:
Get the Atlas before anything else! It will further drive your advantage!
Next get After shock, for its passive and cool down, and then your next priority is upgrading your boots.
Final Build:
By now you should have Aftershock, Tornado Trigger, Atlas Pauldron, and Journey Boots. Next build either Crucible or Aegis, depending on the game. If your facing a heavy crystal build (Taka you son of a gun) Aegis is priority. If your facing a general team with a wide variety of build, and you aren't doing too bad, then build the Crucible to help your team.
Please note:
After shock is replaceable with something else if the situation requires it. Each game is different, and so adaptability is important. If you need something else in order to compete properly, drop Aftershock, and replace with something else. Aftershock is just generally best alternative.
The Ideal Fight Breakdown Top
In an ideal fight:
You initialize using
Shadows Empower Me
Upon contract initialize Atlas Pauldron
After one basic attack use
Dead Mans Rush
IF they try to run, use
From Hell's Heart
**Once your at full stacks use
Spectral Smite
**If your opponent is attempting to stick the fight out and not run (which is very uncommon) don't trigger stacks until you can kill them. Keep them on their knees with slow attack speed and keep hacking away at them, until you know your Spectral Smite can finish the job.
