Hey there everyone! I'm ETRoto, an experienced MOBA player and Adagio Main. I am currently sitting at 'The Hotness' rank in Vainglory, but am on the verge of 'Simply Amazing'.
I like to consider myself a well educated player that is able to think out any given situation and act in the best possible way.
I'm definately still working on a lot of things, but I figure that this guide would be beneficial to anyone trying to learn
Adagio, or the basics of carrying any game in general. Anyways though, I hope this guide can be of any benefit to you all!
Starting items
What you buy first is highly dependant on your role in the game, as well as whether you will be in the lane alone, or with an ally.
If you are solo laning, I usually start with a
Swift Shooter helps you last hit as well as build your
Alternating Current faster.
If you are duo laning, or duking it out in the jungle, I would highly recommend buying a Stormguard Contract as it allows you to gain much more gold while your teammates farm the minions as well. I recommend selling this item at the very end to make space for your last item(Hold onto it for a good while, as it provides so much gold)
Grab
Scout Trap as needed. I usually put one in the lane bush no matter where I start out at.
Main Build
Alternating Current is a must on
Adagio as it provides the attack speed needs to kite, as well as the CP needed to enhance the power of his abilities overall. In addition to this, it provides well needed sustained damage with Adagio's auto attacks. Build this first almost always.
Tension Bow is useful in giving your basic attacks that extra punch. The WP increases your sustained damage even moreso, but the passive allows for some strong burst damage and strong poke in lane or before a teamfight begins to brew. Building this item also makes it tougher for the enemy to counter build you as you now have a mix of damage being dealt. I usually build this second, and in some certain situations, first(Almost always after alternating current though).
Journey Boots can't be overlooked however! Being a ranged carry that is reliant on kiting, Adagio benefits extremely from the extra movement speed given with boots. The passive cooldown is always beneficial whether it be for chasing the enemy, or to give Adagio the well needed escape his kit doesn't provide. I highly recommend building boots as fast as possible, but just remember to focus on your core build as well. If you are being focused but still want to have the offensive mindset, maxing your boots is an ingenious tactic as it provides defensive stats, lower cooldown on the passive, and even more passive move speed for kiting. Any ranged carry NEEDS boots.
Aftershock is an item that provides many benefits to Adagio's kit. The extra CP is always appreciated, but it provides a bit of slice damage, some energy regen, and even some more surivability with the lifesteal that comes along with it. The passive works extremely well with
Tension Bow as well as
Alternating Current.
Fountain of Renewal is a strong defensive item for Adagio as it provides even more healing that he can dish out for his team as well as much more health regen for
Adagio himself. I consider a single defense item as a must buy no matter how much you're beating the enemy team by. Whether its a
Fountain of Renewal,
Crucible,
Aegis, or whatever it may be- a defensive item is crucial to any carry as they will be focused heavily by any experienced team.
I know that the last slot on the Core build was labeled as
Eve of Harvest, but in reality, this item can be exchanged for many different items and still be very viable. I reccomend it be a CP item such as a
Shatterglass or a
Frostburn, but a WP item can be just as beneficial. I chose to include
Eve of Harvest as the core item as it just adds even more to Adagio's survivability in long messy teamfights. While I recommend these items, I believe this slot is personal choice. P.S An additional defense item isn't always bad if you are getting targeted by extremely high damage enemies.
Anyways, I hope that this guide can give you a bit more insight on Adagio and help you carry your games with him. If you would like any more help or tips on Adagio, feel free to comment down below or add 'ETRoto' on the LINE app. Please leave your opinions of the guide, and any tips or thoughts you would like to give me about this, or any future guides that I may write.
