Glaive is a great Jungler, but he can also be a great Laner if played right. Why? 1: Glaives A, "Afterburn", allows him a quick get-away from those nasty ganks, 2: Glaives A, "Afterburn", allows him to knock the enemy laner towards your turrets, 3: Glaive also has fortified health.
To begin this Epic build grab a Book of Eulogies and 2 Halcyon Potions. Why not a Weapon Blade like the recommended section in the game? Because Book of Eulogies gives you a chance of life steal. Now how you build towards the rest of this build is up to you and your comfort zone.
1: Try not to overextend. Yes, using your A can get you out of sticky situations, but that doesn't mean you're invincible. A Taka can catch up to you. Ardan can lock you in. Cathrine can stun and silence you. Vox can catch up. Skye can cut you off. Phinn can pull you right back in. Black Feather can catch up. Ringo can slow you down. Keep all this in mind when laning.
2: If your going to use your A to knock the enemy laner into your turrets try to get it so that the "Afterburn" goes slightly past him/her. For example I was Glaive lane and I used my A to try and knock a Ringo back towards my turret. Well I didn't go far enough and instead of knocking Ringo into my turrets I knocked him into his. Oops! My team still won though.
3: Remember you're Melee and the other laner is most likely ranged. Here are the typical counters for Glaive in lane, 1: Vox 2: Black Feather 3: Ringo. As you can see 2/3 of the Heroes listed are ranged and Black Feathers B is slightly ranged.
