Krul Petal is the counter to Krul, play aggressive early game and do not let Krul farm and build up!
2
Catherine Plant your seeds and she can't reach you with her stun. Combined with Frostburn's slow, she can't engage or escape.
3
  No Threat
4
Ardan Ardan can't do much against Petal by himself, but he can body block your seeds and Vainguard his jungle carry and close the gap to you. In that case, make sure to save a seed and jump to keep distance.
4
Alpha Petal can get in real trouble, if Alpha can get too close without using her A skill. Make sure to always keep enough distance and kite her. Dodge her abilities with your Trampoline and you will be fine. You can get Alpha early game, because she needs her Core Items and Ultimate to be dangerous enough.
5
Fortress Fortress can't do much against Petal by himself, but he can body block your seeds and use his A skill to close the gap to you with his jungle carry. In that case, make sure to save a seed and jump to keep distance.
5
SAW Saw is easy to get if you engage with your ultimate. He will either stay to keep his stacks and get the full damage of your ultimate or he will use his A skill to escape and lose his stacks. Make sure to keep distance if you don't have your ultimate and plant seeds to block his dagger.
5
Taka Get Taka early game, invade and don't let him farm up. He is squishy, but really hard to kite, try to plant seeds and run/jump back and forward to force him running into the seeds.
5
Rona She can close the gap to you and also block your escape way. Make sure to save your Trampoline for that case and kite her carefully with your seeds.
6
Ozo Ozo can be really scary, because he can use his skills to deal splash damage and also use your pets to close the gap to you. Make sure to kite him as good as you can and definitely block his ultimate!
6
Kestrel Get Kestrel early and invade her. If she can't build enough damage, she won't be able to kill your pets fast enough. Be careful because a well farmed Kestrel (especially CP) can burst down your munions with her Arrows.
6
Phinn Phinn is a pain, because he can kill your pets easily with his A skill and stop your engage. But he is slow and won't be able to engage you either. If you have stacked enough crystal power and your munions are healthy enough, focus on the jungle carry and just try to avoid Phinn's A. Phinn can't do much, if you have managed to kill his teammate.
7
Glaive You have to get Glaive in the early game and don't let him farm and build up. A well farmed Glaive is just terrible, because he has basic attacks and skills which deals splash damage. Kite him and watch out for his Afterburn!
7
Reim Reim deals so much splash damage, he can kill your pets easily. Try to kite him, jump and position yourself around him and dodge his A skill. If you can keep your munions up long enough, Reim will run out of energy. If you managed to get him, then keep the pressure and invade.
7
Ringo Ringo can get you down very fast, make sure to keep distance and let your munions do the job. Use your ult to get him low, before you get close and finish him off.
7
Joule A well farmed Joule can be very scary. Her skills deal splash damage and with she has a big gap closer. Make sure you don't get hit by her Rocket Leap or Big Red Button. Pressure her early game and don't let her get farm!
7
Koshka Koshka is really dangerous with her Twirly Death stacks. Always keep distance, kite her and block her engages with your seeds early game. She will fall off late game, make sure to block her ultimate or use yours before hers.
8
Adagio Adagio's big range, buff and fire splash damage can be really dangerous, especially if he keeps killing your pets first. Try to keep distance and deal damage carefully with your pets or avoid him.
8
Vox Vox is easy to defeat in the early game, but he will be incredibly strong in the late game due to his splash damage.
8
Skaarf Skaarf deals splash damage and also has a big range. Dodge his skills and apply your pets and slow, try to focus him with your team and kill him first.
8
Blackfeather Blackfeather and his Rose Offense can be such a pain late game, because he can just burst through all your pets and seeds. You have to get him early game and don't let him build up!
9
Celeste When Celeste gets level 8, her A skill range is just too big and she can zone you easily. You can only get her if your team engage first and burst her down fast, before she can deal her insane splash damage.
9
Skye Skye is really hard to reach and can deal tons of damage. Keep distance and try to dodge her skills. She is squishy so try to get your pets on her, with enough crystal power and Frostburn, you should be able to get her low.

Introduction Top

Hello Guys, welcome to another hero guide of us! Today we want to show you our crystal power jungle Petal. Unfortunately Petal is not played often, even though she can be very powerful pick in jungle. That's why we want to show you how awesome Petal can be.

First of all: Petal's gameplay is all about kiting, positioning, wait for the right moment and counter. Furthermore we will skill and build Petal especially to support that gameplay. If played right, she can deal massive damage without taking damage, giving enemies no chance to reach her or to escape. Start with and stack crytsal power and keep the early aggression for the win.

Abilities & Gameplay Top

Petal's Munions Top

Let's start with Petal'S heroic perk Munions first: As you know Petal can sprout up to 3 munions out of her Brambleboom Seeds ability, that's why it's necessary to start with Brambleboom Seeds first. Her munions deal damage scaled with their level (+8 per level) and crystal power (50%), but also their health and defense scale with both level and crystal power. That's really interesting and we will explain more about it in the next chapter. Furthermore, if a munion bites a marked target, Petal gains 20-65% attack speed for 1.5 seconds. Also Petal has higher energy regen the more energy she has up to a limit of her base max energy. So that's a really powerful perk and we will use it to fully concentrate on building pure damage in the early game and control the jungle!

Brambleboom Seeds Top

This ability is very simple but so awesome, it makes her kiting and tactical gameplay possible.
First of all Petal can plant a Brambleboom seed right in front of her and a munion will sprout if you don't have 3 munions yet. Else they will just be there and explode if an enemy steps on them. The explosion deals a lot of damage and knock the enemy back. Seeds also provide vision, but it's just a really small radius. You can use Brambleboom Seeds to knock back enemies and keep them away from you (especially melee heroes), but also to block enemies way to you, your teammates or even objectives. Plant your seeds carefully and scare your enemies off, they won't dare to engage you!

Skill points on Brambleboom Seeds do not only improve seeds health and damage, but also munions health, defense and damage. Furthermore it all scales with crystal power. That means by upgrading Brambleboom Seeds and building crystal power, you will also level up your pets (of course only to a max of level 5) and make them stronger and stronger. That's why we recommend to upgrade this ability first and when ever it's available, also we recommend to build crystal to unleash your pets full power. Focus on Frostburn and get it as fast as possible, it will provide you with enough damage and most important the slow! With Frostburn your munions will slow down enemies with every attack, that's perfect to keep enemies away from you and makes it easier for you to kite or chase down enemies. Hide in the backline, let your pets do the work, plant seeds and use Trampoline! to create a gap or close the gap, if needed. Watch out for your energy and plant your seeds carefully, keep in mind that Petal has a higher energy regen the more energy she has up due to her perk!

Trampoline! Top

Trampoline! is just as funny as useful! You can use it to kite or escape by just jumping over a wall and most of the enemy heroes won't be able to follow you, but also to close the gap and chase down enemies. Always make sure you have enough energy left, because you have to plant a Brambleboom Seeds first. You can only use Trampoline! when standing on a seed.

Using this ability will rally all pets back to Petal's location and buff Petal's weapon & crystal power for 4 seconds. Trampoline! can amplify her crystal power up to 40%, this is really a lot! That's why we recommend to use this ability as soon as you can to kite or engage. Your skills, pets and seeds will deal increased damage, but use it carefully, because the cooldown is pretty high! We recommend to overdrive Trampoline! instead of Spontaneous Combustion, if you are forced to kite all the time and can't use your ultimate effectively enough. Overdriven, the cooldown is reduced from 7 to 5 seconds and the buff lasts for 4 seconds, you can use Trampoline! more often and you are buffed almost the whole time. Also build more tanky and Aftershock as 3. offensive item to have more sustain. That way you can fully focus on kiting and positioning, keeping your enemies busy.

If you are able to control the team fights and you can play more offensive, then we recommend overdrive Spontaneous Combustion and build Shatterglass for higher damage output and pressure. Also if you are experienced and feel confident enough, use Trampoline! to jump around in teamfights to confuse your enemies, trap them to run into your seeds and also allies! That way you can buy more time for your teammates and also pets to deal damage. If your enemies have many gap closing skills, they will try to focus and chase you down. Also your allies will have a hard time to follow, that's why jumping back into the enemies direction can have a surprising effect and your allies can block off the way. BUT make sure you don't get caught in a bad position and end up killed too easy.

Spontaneous Combustion Top

Spontaneous Combustion is Petal's trump card and it's her key ability to win teamfights late game. This ability can deal a lot of damage and also heal teammates at the same time. So how to use it most effectively? Well, that's depending on your enemies and the situation.

Use your ultimate for engages against slow and immobile enemies such as Adagio and SAW, to have immense burst damage and shot down one enemy quickly.

If you have to play more defensive and kite your enemies, use your ultimate when either you or your enemies are low on health. You will be able to turn the fight around with the damage and heal Spontaneous Combustion provides! If you are not the one focused in fights and your teammate gets the damage instead, use your ultimate to help out. It won't only heal your ally, but also damage and scare off the enemy. Spontaneous Combustion is hard to predict, it can and should be used as a big surprise to turn around the situation. In some situation you can also just use it's healing ability to heal up your whole team, e.g. after a winning 2 vs 3 trade and you team is low health but you couldnt secure the trade, but you still want to go for the objectives.

It's really important that you watch your pets health and don't pop up your ultimate when you don't have enough pets. Against heroes with splash damage such as Skaarf, Vox or Glaive you will probably have a problem to find the right timing for your Spontaneous Combustion. Your pets will probably die too fast to the splash damage and in the chaos of the fight it's also hard to see how many pets you have left on the field. That's why we recommend to prepare some seeds e.g. hidden in a bush close to where you want to fight. That will provide you with pets during the fight and you dont have to wait too long for new pets to sprout. Also you can check the pets indicator, displayed over your items on the left bottom of the screen.

Strategy Top

Kiting, positioning and counters! Top

As we mentioned before it's all about kiting and positioning. Always plant some seeds to prevent and block enemies engages or prepare a kiting path. We recommend to have some seeds planted in your bushes, since they are not visible for your enemies. Since Petal has one of the biggest range in Vainglory, you can just pre-kite perfectly. Most of the heroes you will meet in jungle are melee heroes and Petal naturally counters them with her big range. Observant players will pre-kite enemies and moving away from them before they are in range to begin dealing damage, while you can deal damage with your pets and auto attacks. Planting seeds during your kite will make it impossible for your enemies to reach you without gape closing abilites, even then you can just use your Trampoline! to get away and continue your kiting.

With your core items Frostburn and Broken Myth, you can also even slow enemies, stack up and get even stronger. When your enemies are low and you have full 5 stacks on your Broken Myth, that's the perfect moment to turn around and counter! Now you can just finish them off with Trampoline! and Spontaneous Combustion. Please keep in mind that Petal is a strong pick against melee heroes, especially without splash damage or less gap closing abilites, but we do not recommend to pick petal against 2 range carry heroes!

Heroes with Petal Top

Last but not least we want to show you some personal favored heroes which works great with Petal.
For the jungle, we love to pair up Petal with Ardan and Phinn. Ardan can protect her well with his Vainguard and zone enemies with his Gauntlet to keep them away.

Phinn can be a big barrier between Petal and her enemies. He can deal a lot of damage, stun and pull enemies away from her, which makes it possible for her to jump back and forth in team fights.

Another thing we want to mention: Petal works great with double crystal power composition, you should definitely try out Joule, Celeste] or [[Phinn as crystal power lane carry. This works great if your laner is also going for Frostburn and Broken Myth, your team will have a lot of slow which makes kiting even easier. Also your enemies will have to spend gold on Aegis early, while your team can focus on pure damage. If you can put enough pressure, disrupt enemies farm, get kills and objectives, they are forced to build more defense and won't be able to build up damage. If your team manage to finish Broken Myth until mid game, then even Aegis won't be enough to protect your enemies!
