Welcome to my guide on CP Lane Adagio!
Adagio is a very solid pick in this patch of 2.6 due to the current meta game being based around dive compositions and burst damage. Because of this, heroes with anti-dive abilities and burst healing (such as Adagio) are also quite strong.
Probably the best example of a hero fit for this meta would be Grace;
-The range of her Benediction is absurd in my opinion (Dive ability)
-She has an area of effect knockup with Holy Nova (Anti-dive ability)
-Her ultimate, Divine Interbvention, just makes you wonder why you used all your cooldowns for nothing (Burst Heal ability)
But anyway, this is a guide on Adagio. So let's get into it!
Please note that I will not be covering what Adagio's abilities are as I believe that is a waste of time. Almost everyone knows what they do already. Why tell them again? I would rather spend time explaining more important things. Anyway, here we go!

Item Rundown: Top
Alternating Current is the most effective first item to buy for Adagio as most of his damage comes from his auto-attacks, and his ultimate benefits greatly from additional Crystal Power. The next few item are quite self-explanatory: Eve of Harvest gives Adagio decent sustain with more energy and crystal lifesteal. Aegis stops his Ultimate (Verse of Judgement) from being cancelled, and Halcyon Chargers gets him out when things get ugly, with the additional benefit of that energy regeneration.
I realise that some of you may have raised an eyebrow when you saw Shiversteel in my build. Yes, I do buy Shiversteel in almost every Adagio game I play, and here are the reasons why:
- Adagio has no mobility at all. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. With Shiversteel, it allows him to slow his opponents and keep them in range so he can continue damaging them.
- Adagio's Gift of Fire heal increases based on his bonus maximum health, and Shiversteel gives him a large chunk of 500 hitpoints. Basically, Shiversteel gives him stronger heals.
- Shiversteel is the cheapest Tier 3 item at 1450 Gold, and purchasing it can give you a potential item advantage over your opponents.
Shatterglass is just the icing on the cake to give Adagio some more burst damage and turns Verse of Judgement into an area of effect nuke. Seriously. It does hella damage once you get the shiny blue orb worth 3000 gold.
Early Game: Top
In my opinion, Adagio has a very powerful early game which players need to exploit more. This early game power comes from his level 1 stats. Through some research, I discovered that Adagio has:
- The highest basic attack range of 6.6
- The third highest energy at level 1 (400) among all laners (After Petal at 410 and Kestrel at 404)
- The fourth highest health at level 1 (719) among all laners (After Baron, Blackfeather and Baptiste)
With these stats at level 1, Adagio should try to poke and harass the enemy laner in order to exploit his base statistics and range advantage.
By picking up a Crystal Bit and Swift Shooter at the start of the game, Adagio should ideally recall when he has around 2500 gold to purchase Alternating Current, Sprint Boots and some potions, or when he has approx 2100 gold to pick up a Heavy Prism, Blazing Salvo, Sprint Boots, Energy Battery and some potions.
Long story short: When playing Adagio in the Lane, focus on balancing last-hitting minions and poking your Lane opponent. Be sure to punish them if they overextend; utilise Adagio's long basic attack range to your advantage.
