Excellent, well thought out guide. However, I highly suggest you put the very misunderstood Ozo as a hero synergy with Adagio. Even though WP Ozo (or Ozo for that matter) is very rare in the current meta, his heroic perk synergies excellently with Adagio's healing and Ozos ultimate, if properly timed, can plop an enemy into Adagio's Verses of Judgement.
This guide is awensome. As a semi-main roamer (SoloQ usually doesn't allow you to do anything else) i could reliate to this so much. One thing I'd like to point out is: you are underestimating Catherine. While it's true that most player are learning how to "deal" with her, it's up to a good Catherine to counter their thinking. While she is almost useless against some heroes like Skye and Petal, her kit provides an immense amount of tankiness and utility as well as negating heavy burst damage thanks to her B. Her C allows her to render mages useless and highly vulnerable. A low cooldown Catherine can be devastating for the enemy team. If used correctly she can be the true carry of a match.
I don't deny that she can be effective. I've been frustrated many times by a good Catherine. However, the point I was making was that since the reduced the time on her shield she's far less opposing and it really boils down to the patience and awareness of the players. As where a roam like Phinn who is just naturally in the bleeping way and a mountain to take down is far more player friendly because there isn't all the necessary nuance to using him effectively. Any character can be devastating if used "correctly", but the stronger characters by my interpretation are the characters who are easier to make effective.
Although Catherine can be very effective against most heroes when played correctly, most people don't know how to use her to her full potential. I commonly see Catherine players stunning the wrong hero(like the roam) or not using their stun and silence at the correct times. There are lots of people who use Blast Tremor at enemies who are too far away for the silence to be of any use to her allies and then get aced when they try to chase them down. So yes, although I do agree that good Catherines can be devastating, but most people don't really understand her kit which makes her not as effective as she could be, especially in SoloQ.
Adagio's Agent of Wrath only buffs 5 attacks now unless you overdrive it, so high attack speed isn't really important for his synergy anymore. Personally, I prefer to play Adagio with Ringo, Kestrel, and Vox.
I know it's 5 attacks or 6 seconds so that's why I chose heroes with a bit of extra attack speed like Kestrel with her Adrenaline or Vox with his Sonic Zoom. They can also all stick to their target effectively whereas most heroes can escape from SAW relatively easily when he's spun up and relies on his Spin Up too much.
Thank you for writing this. I am a new player and I want to roam as Adagio. This guide has helped me a lot by saying the dos and don'ts of roaming. Also, thank you for including the items commonly used by fellow roamers. Now all I need is to find how to create a good build/ find a pre-made one on the forum for Adagio.
You're very welcome! It may be a challenge to find a decent roam Adagio guide, as he's played as a lane most of the time. Search FlashX in the member section here on the site. He has a good Adagio roam guide.
