Introduction Top
Hello all, my name is Manhoef and I am a Pinnacle of Awesome player; I simply love playing off meta heroes and several days ago I thought to myself, why not make a professional and well thought out guide to play one of the most fun and game changing heroes that is currently on the fold, Phinn. So without further ado lets learn how to play the juggernaut! Note: I will finish this guide through the week
How does Phinns Heroic Perk work? Aswell as his hitbox Top
[]Phinn]] in my opinion, has the best property in the entire game: he can't be stunned and he get bonus defense from the defense he builds(his B also grants bonus defense from defense but we will get to that later). This means that not only does he scale well with crystal power, but defense aswell. I recommend getting 1 defensive item on cp Phinn specifically for the reason of bodyblocking minions and denying farm. Which brings me to my second point, bodyblocking. Bodyblocking makes him such a hassle to deal with in tandem to book of eulogies and a tier 1 defense. He has the largest hitbox in the game and can sit on creeps literally. A smart Phinn can sustain properly and deny 2-3 cs every wave. Make sure to bodyblock the big minion, this will really starve the enemy.
So how do Phinns abilities work? Top
Phinn is an AOE, crowd controlling, insane damage dealing hero, that when used effectively is almost unbeatable; however to properly utilize his kit, you have to position yourself very well to take full advantage of him. His A ability
Quibble is in my opinion, the best ability in the entire game. It has insane base damage 240-590, an insane 200% CP ratio (that is about 1200 damage late game with a proper build),a 5 second cool-down when overdriven, an AOE circle, and to top it all off when Phinn gets his 5th ability point in Quibble, it turns its slow into a stun.So whats the catch? It can be hard to hit if your inexperienced with him. The circle is large 5.5 meter diameter, but has a 1 second animation, and can't hit an enemy slightly behind him( unlike
Joule,
Blackfeather, etc). It is highly recommended that you take the overdrive for the stun. But with proper practice and a
Frostburn combined with his B ability
Polite Company, Phinn can hit about 90% of his Quibbles. His second ability,
Polite Company is the perfect setup for Quibble; it has a vacuum 4ish meters(even greater with and overdrive 5.5ish), 350 base cp damage(goes from 60-150 to 350 when overdriven), and has a very respectable 120% cp ratio. The granted fortified health also increases with Phinns built defense although it's not that huge. One more thing however, Phinn can gift fortified health to hismself and his allies; when this ability is overdriven, 270 fortified health can be granted. This ability has a 10 second cooldown at all ranks. I highly advise you to take the overdrive as it dramatically increases the base damage by 230%, gives a staggering 270 fortified health(210 at level 4), and dramatically increases the vacuum strength. Also note the vacuum applies a slow with
Frostburn, as well as a huge vacuum radius that makes it extremely easy to hit his Quibble. Phinns ultimate
Forced Accord is a hook with a very very long range of 14 and has a large width; however it is quite easy to reflex block, which is why I recommend investing a second ability point into it at level 9, for the lower cooldown. Speaking of cooldowns, Phinns ultimate has 60-45-30 cooldown and cooldown refund at higher ranks of 15%, he also has 100-200-300 base CP damage with an incredible 150% CP ratio. In spite of this, i still recommend overdriving your other abilities as the benefits you receive from them are better.

What is Phinns playstyle? Top
The most important part of Phinns kit is to position properly to defend your teammates, your farm, and your objectives. Your positioning will also determine if you can hit your abilities, which makes or breaks how successful you will be with Phinn. The first tip to playing Phinn be very passive whilst your abilities are on cooldown; afterwards however when they aren't on cooldown taunt the enemy whenever they try to farm and hit them with a big Quibble whilst bodyblocking. The second tip is to have your quibble activated( the ability radius) and whenever they come close, use your B whilst this radius is up and immediately follow up with a Quibble. If you want to win games get boots early! With tier 2 boots Phinn is infinitely more useful. I cannot stress this enough. My last tip is look for unorthodox pulls with your ult, and your B. I will have a section dedicated to this(with pictures :)), aswell as using polite company to glitch enemies(and minions) over walls. Also keep in mind the BP changes; Phinn can now soak up all the damage while not giving free stacks. This indirectly made him so much more viable, despite his wave clear nerf.
Best itemization for Phinn Top
Phinns Quibble relatively has the same early game strength early game is as strong as it is late game, but has a much longer cooldown. This means you must optimize when you use it and your items. And eclipse prisim and a
Crystal Bit gives your Quibble 520 damage on a 7 second cooldown. When used properly, you can nuke the entire team with it and put everyone at 1/3rd health. It can do even more damage if you opt for a heavy prisim instead of
Travel Boots, but I strongly advise against this, as you won't be able to position in time to get a good Quibble off. Next your gonna want a
Frostburn; this isint for teamfights specifically although it does help you land your Quibble after your ult in the enemy, it's more for the BA combo that I explained in the previous chapter. To spam this get an
Energy Battery. After your done with this, I would suggest getting a heavy prisim and swell as another
Crystal Bit, aswell as a tier 1 defense of your choice. After this a
Broken Myth is key; Phinn can easily build up all 7 stacks and do 1255 damage with 10% pierce. The item I rush next is a
Clockwork, as in this point of the game I have plenty of damage but need to spam that damage much more often, aswell as my hook. It brings everything to a ridiculously low cooldown while indirectly setting up for more opportunistic hooks and plays. I'd also recommend getting a t2 defense item. After your done with this, you should finish up your boots, buy a
Shatterglass and a t3 defense. Cp infusion is also key for al the utility, defense, and damage it provides.
Early Game Playstyle Top
Hide in bushes! Phinns massive nuke quibble is hard to hit early game, and bushes certainly alleviate this problem. Put a scout trap in the enemy lane bush and wait in the edge of yours; then when the enemy walks over it, immediately quibble.
