Overview Top
Hello everyone, this is my taka guide, I'll be trying to go over some basic strategies and provide some advice. I'll be explaining my rationale for each build in detail in later chapters, so bear with me!
Taka is relatively popular hero amongst vainers, he is pretty powerful with little practice in lower tiers. However, at higher tiers he is easily countered and needs careful teamwork in order to maximize effectiveness.
Higher level teams know to buy loads of scout traps and flares, negating taka's biggest advantage, stealth. Usually extra health is built to negate the burst damage he deals.
As with any build, I recommend flexibility in regards to each individual situation. The items in my builds are ranked in the order I suggest you complete each tier 3 time.
Lastly, I recommend looking through the threat meter I so painstakingly ranked :(.

Burst/Hybrid Damage Top
Difficulty: 7/10
Burst taka is most intuitive and most commonly suggested, it synergizes well with his stealthiness. Try to get tension bow by level 6, farm hard before then. Burst Taka truly shines mid game, but only if you've done your farming before then.
This build requires careful timing of skills and discretion when attacking. You need to be able to use your skills effectively in order to maximize the effectiveness of aftershock. If the crucible seems extraneous, I suggest trading it in for another damage item.
My biggest concern with this build is the drop-off in effectiveness burst takes see late game. By then, other heroes have caught on and found a way to counter you.
Lifesteal Taka Top
Difficulty: 9/10
This build is my personal favorite, it an absolute monster late game if built correctly.
My items list for this build doesn't show intermediate items or ones that I trade in, when I choose to build this path I will typically build a tension bow first for mid game dominance and then trade it in when I get enough gold for Bonesaw.
This build complements taka's heroic perk extremely well, it has a whopping 90% lifesteal! When built correctly I have been able to defeat SAW with his spin-up! It deals extremely high sustained damage. With this build you won't need to worry about survivability as much, and can be an integral member of team fights. With this build you can even solo the Kraken, I've done it!
However, this build requires a lot of farming and smart fight initiation if you are to succeed.
Crsytal Taka Top
Difficulty 8/10
Crystal Taka is the epitome of extreme damage. The damage from X-retsu can be enormous, and you will be able to execute is skills quite often.
Crystal Taka requires careful careful timing when initiating. If the fight doesn't go your way, drop your smoke bomb and vanish. You can always sneak back up and hit your enemy with another X-retus later.
As powerful as this build is, it should be noted that taka's built this way are extremely frail. They are not the best team players, and so I do not recommend this extensively for higher tiers.
Many may be wondering why I don't invest in a shatter glass for pure damage; I find that the crystal power accumulated from my other items is enough, and I need every single secondary benefit from each of the items, whether it be the slow, lifesteal, or sustained damage.
Crit Taka Top
Difficulty 6/10
This build emphasizes the crits that Taka's heroic perk provides. With all the crit that this completed build provides, you may be able to rival burst damage builds. This is a build that shines late game, and I recommend it as an easier and less extreme alternative to my lifesteal build.
With this build, you would have 130% extra damage each time you land a crit, which would be pretty often. This is further complemented by the 30% lifesteal that taka's heroic perk provides.
If you find that you have trouble staying alive, I recommend trading a tyrant's monocle for a serpent's mask or a defense item.
-Taka is a hero that requires heavy farming, perhaps more than any other hero. If you lag in levels, you may find that you never catch up
-When you use your second skill to escape, try moving in a direction that your opponents don't expect, sometimes deeper into the enemy jungle!
-Be wary if the enemy has scout traps and flare, your won't be near as stealthy as you think.
-Don't be afraid to chase enemies deep behind their turrets to secure a kill. Do it as long as you have enough health to get out alive.
-Use your second skill to scout tall grass for ganks.
-Try to time your first skill such that you juke out enemy attacks.
-Always, always keep your stacks up. They are crucial, especially for weapon builds.
