3
Krul Krul is weak against Vox. Just dash away from him.
3
Lance Lance should't be a problem to you as long as you manage to dodge his Impale.
3
Grumpjaw Dodge his a and c. He won't stand a chance.
4
Idris Crystal idris is a joke...until he gets an alternating current. You should be able to stay away from him if he goes Weapon.
4
Celeste You should mange to put up a quite good fight against your sister by being semi-aggressive.
4
Reim He's too fast for you. Just kidding. Watch out for his skillshots though.
4
Adagio Not your biggest problem.
5
Kestrel You can dodge her skillshots, but never try to fight her 1v1.

7
Flicker Good at ganking, but not much else.

2
Phinn Phinn might be slow, but he is excellent at stopping enemies from getting away, and he can give you fortified health.
2
Ardan Daddy is sooo tanky. Vanguard is also quite strong on Vox as it makes him terrifyingly mobile.
3
Lyra Her heal is neat, and so is her portal. Bright bulwark will allow you to thrive without being scared of assasins.
3
Flicker Enemies won't be able to escape if you have flicker on your team. They won't be able to see you either.
4
Adagio His damage buff works extremely well with Vox.
4
Joule Joule deals a lot of damage, and can act as a great distractior.
4
Petal Let's give chase!
5
Fortress He is superfast, and his dogs will give you time to reposition safely without being focused.
5
Catherine Her ult will allow you to be more aggressive. Catherine is also a great meat shield.
5
Krul Krul can tank for you, and you can help him stick.
6
Glaive Glaive can peel for you, but not much else.
7
Ozo Ozo and Vox both benefit from tightly grouped enemies. This makes an ozo Vox comp very easy to counter.
8
Celeste You know how it is when siblings try to cooporate.
8
Baron Lot's of firepower, but little utility.
9
Kestrel Not much synergy here.

Introduction Top

Hi, my name is Rhinocharge. Vox is a character I have played for a long time, and is one of my favourite laners in the game. Though it might not seem like it, I am actually not that good in Vainglory. The truth is that I suck. In my opinion, Vox is hard to learn, but magnificent when played right. Note that I change a lot of stuff on this guide all the time, so it might get a little bit confusing.

About Vox Top

Vox can play as both a sniper or a mage. When building weapon, he becomes a hard hitting single target damage dealer. On the other hand, when building crystal he will be useless in a 1v1, but become a threat to the whole team in teamfights.

Vox's high mobility and flexibility makes up for his low health and his lack of range. He is really weak in the early game, but gets more and more powerful during the later phases.

Abilities Top

Julia's Song
Slot: Heroic Perk

Vox's abilities mark enemies with Resonance. When basic attacking marked enemies, Resonance Bolts will bounce outwards to two nearby enemies dealing bonus crystal damage while refreshing and spreading the Resonance mark.
  • Resonance Crystal damage: 20-75 (level 1-12) (+70% crystal power)
  • Resonance bounces deal 50% damage to minions.
  • Basic Attack damage: 20-42 (level 1-12) (+40% crystal power) (+100% weapon power)
This is what makes crystal Vox work. Resonance can really add up during long fights, no matter your build.

Sonic Zoom
Slot: A

Vox dashes in the targeted direction, throwing two basic attacks to the nearest enemy marked by Resonance (prioritizing heroes).
Vox wouldn't be that mobile if it wasn't for this ability. It's great chasing and escaping, as well as dodging skillshots from heroes like Celeste and Skaarf. It is also a great source of damage, especially when going wp.

Pulse
Slot: B

Vox emits a sonic pulse that echoes off nearby enemies and applies Resonance. The pulse applies a slow that is significantly stronger near its center.
  • Each upgrade to Pulse increases the damage of Vox's bouncing Resonance bolts.
  • Overdrive: Resonance bounce range increased by 2.

Like Sonic Zoom this is also a multiutility. It can be used for spreading resonance, revealing enemies (kind of) and slowing them. The resonance can be used to poke enemies from distance by attacking nearby minions. Be careful when using Pulse if you are in the jungle, as bounces can hit treants, which can often result in being rooted.

Wait for It
Slot: C

Vox fires an ultrasonic wave that applies Resonance to enemies in its path. Shortly after, a wide shockwave explodes along the same path, dealing crystal damage and silencing enemies.
  • Striking enemy heroes with the shockwave will also cause Resonance Bolts to bounce outward to other enemies.
Let's face it. It's far from the best ult in the game, but not the worst. The silence can be crucial in a teamfight, and the damage is decent when the enemies are crowded together.

The builds Top

Weapon crit

There isn't that much to say about this build. Sorrowblade is built first to increase the overall damage output. The. Tornado Trigger gives more attack speed, and a little bit of critical damage and chance. To add on top of the crit of Tornado Trigger we build a Tyrant monocle. You will now have 70% critical chance and 200% critical damage ( if we add the 150% you already have). If the enemy isn't building too much damage you can build a Breaking Point or a Shiversteel.

For new players: critical hits deal 150% Weapon damage (1.5 times more than normal).
Critical chance increases the possibility of getting a critical hit. Critical damage increase the damage from a critical hit.

Anti-tank crystal

I have always preferred crystal builds on Vox, but his damage can often be devestatingly low. Sometimes it can seem like you have no impact at all. This build is a crystal build made to pack a little bit more punch than normal. Aftershock will give you the single target damage you need, while Broken Myth will pierce shield and create a lot of damage combined with Shatterglass. If the enemies aren't that tanky, you can swap the Aftershock for an Alternating Current.

Alternative builds

These builds are an option if you didn't like my main builds. I have made some of them myself, and some are just very common and seen on many other guides. So please don't accuse me of stealing your CP Vox build if it contains Alternating Current, Eve of Harvest, Broken Myth and Shatterglass. If there is a very unique build I will credit the player who made it popular. Both of the "classic builds" are a great option for new players who don't know excactly what to pick.

Tips and tricks Top

-If you are struggling with an aggressive lane opponent like SAW or Skye Ping your teammates to try to gank him/her. Even if it doesn't result in a kill, it can give you some time to either push the turret or farm safely. On the other hand, if a teamfight breaks out in the jungle, always be sure to rotate down to support them.
- Pulse+ Sonic Zoom+ Sonic Zoomis a great method for escaping tricky situations. Your enemies will be slowed outrun and take damage at the same time.
-If your health is low and you can't reach your turret, try to get to the crystal sentry. It will protect you (and your allies) and can sometimes turn around a teamfight completely.
- Halcyon Potions are vital in the early game. They can help you sustain longer, and also gives you energy.
-You are attractive to enemies because of your low health. At lower tiers, try to bait them into the range of your turret. Just don't take it too far and die for no good reason.

Building Top

As you may have noticed, my item builds didn't have a very good explanation. I normally Buy the damage items in the order shown while building boots, energy and defence when needed. It is important to buy Halcyon Potion early in the game. They are super cheap, and can save your life as well as helping you sustain against early game heroes such as Samuel and SAW. The reason i put Shiversteel in as an option for both builds is because the slow can make it easier to land resonance bounces. It is also great if you are facing someone slippery like Skye.

Thanks a lot for reading my guide. This my second guide so far, so please leave feedback in the comments, and if you liked it, please consider leaving an upvote. BYE

P.S I am considering creating a guide for either Glaive, Fortress or Petal, so look out for another guide by me in the future.
