Notes: Top

- This is a general guide; different heroes require different strategy; adjust accordingly; reflex block when necessary.
- Krul is not the first one in; early game he's low armor & shield.
- His passive ability allows him to gain speed, and slow enemy after waiting in the bushes for 1.5 seconds. After the fight kicks off, and you're in the bush, charge the lane hero. The lane hero is now slowed and you haven't used abilities.
- Lane heroes are high priority because they're massive firepower, and from a distance. As long as they are your first target, you'll give yourself a head start as you have gained speed, and they are slowed. And as long as they are close by, they're dead. They may have firepower but no shield and less healing ability than Krul. If they can outmaneuver you, then they have control of the fight.
- This is why we have Journey Boots; if you damage an enemy after using Journey Boots, they recharge much faster. This allows you to first slow them with your passive ability, then once they gain speed, assuming they try to run, you can charge them with Journey Boots building stacks with both Spectral Smite and Breaking point, before you use any abilities.
- If they don't run, save Dead Man's Rush for the last second. Let Krul's stacks build and healing ability do the work, and if it isn't enough, Dead Man's Rush as late as possible. This will do greater damage, healing you more, and giving you a health shield to go with it. By this time your Spectral Smite stack will be almost full. Use this last second if you're still on the defense (which usually at this point you're on the offense but assuming otherwise...), and if it doesn't kill them, you'll heal yourself and build your Breaking Point stack enough that the tables should be turned. This tactic is very important. I've gotten triple kills many times by waiting til the last minute to use these abilities, allowing for me to drag the fight on and give more time to build stacks.
- Don't always use your ultimate on your first target.
- The idea is that once your Breaking Point stacks (25 stacks max — 250 damage), it towers Sorrow Blade, and by then, all you need is critical damage, critical chance, and attack speed, which two Tornado Triggers give. This plus good shields, armor, and Krul's ability to heal, make for huge potential.
- The alternate build is optional. It is more expensive, but it is more effective if the enemy team doesn't run.
