Introduction Top
My IGN is
Rydor1 and I am an experienced vainglory player.
Koshka is my main and my favorite character by far. In this guide I will go over everything about
Koshka that you need to know. I hope you enjoy reading.
My other guides:
Fortress: King of the Jungle.
Taka: Fox in a Box
Krul: Might of the Smite.
CRYSTAL INFUSIONS!!!!!! They are absolutely positively always needed forever!!! Top
The most important thing about
Koshka is
Crystal Infusion!!! It provides
35% cooldown so that you can keep spamming your
abilities, while also dealing a ton of
damage. It is everything you need, so you don't have to get
Clockwork or anything like that. Combined with
Broken Myth you'll absolutely delete
Taka, guaranteed. The only threat I've ever faced with this build is
Krul, because he is the perfect counter to
Koshka as you are a team fighter and he is the 1v1 king. Other than that,
Aftershock +
Broken Myth +
Crystal Infusion = domination. Contrary to popular belief in lower levels, infusions do matter! Well, they do with
Koshka. The thing is she is very
bursty. She depends on her
abilities to do all of the
damage. When you add a
Crystal Infusion to the solution, you won't even have to use
basic attacks. Even if the
crystal power doesn't end up deleting the enemy, the
cooldown will allow you to spam your
abilities faster. Without
Crystal Infusion, I find myself needing extra items like
Clockwork and
Alternating Current that I don't have the space or luxury to afford. With
Crystal Infusion I have all the
cooldown I need and I won't be needing my
basic attacks at all. Even if you would win without it, it is still huge in making the game end quicker, because you will be 10 times better. When you get
Crystal Infusion, you won't need as many
ability items. You can buy more
tanky items to be invincible, yet still do tons of
damage. If you are struggling, pick up a
Crystal Infusion and (maybe) see your (gaming) life turn around!
Abilities Top
Pouncy Fun
Initiatior and a great way to stick to the enemy. Doesn't do much
damage in the early game, but it is needed to stick and get more attacks in. Can also be used on minions to escape from the enemy if needed.
Twirly Death
Your #1
damage dealer. Make sure to use a
basic attack after using it, because the
ability enhances it and it will do a lot of
damage.
Yummy Catnip Frenzy
Only initiate with this when the enemy is out of position. If a
Taka is slightly ahead of his pack, initiating will be good to make sure your team gets a lot of hits on him. Same goes to anyone else really, but
Takas have the highest chance of doing this. Otherwise, only use this as a stun when an enemy is trying to use their
ult or when the enemy is trying to run away and you need to keep up. If you use this in 3v3 situations you are making yourself vulnerable, but if you use it in 3v2 or 3v1 situations it is a very effective stun.
Strategy Top
Koshka is an early game character, however I don't think she is particularly strong at level 1. If you go for an early jungle invade, you will find that you might not be able to land
Twirly Death when you want to. The enemy will easily be able to run away and you won't be able to stick. However, if you got
Pouncy Fun instead, you won't be doing much
damage. I think
Kaiten>
Twirly Death because it does do
damage and it does allow sticking power.
Koshka needs both of her
abilities to be effective. Luckily, in the new meta (common gameplay) you start with the back minions. You should get to level 2 before any action happens. After level 2 you do have a very strong early game. You should be able to beat anybody. In my opinion,
Koshka is the second strongest early game character in the game next to
Ringo. Use that knowledge to your advantage and be aggressive. However, it is not good to get ganks in the lane. If you hang out in the lane for long periods of time (or short for that matter), you are missing out on gold and it is not worth it even if you do get kills. Getting kills on heroes gains you experience and almost no gold. Gold is what wins games, not experience. Make sure that if you go up to lane the laner is overextending and you won't have to wait to attack. If you go up to lane, you shouldn't spend more than 10 seconds there. More than that is a waste of time, and time is money. You should be spending all of your time levels 1-6 on farming for gold. It is important to not fall behind. If you do find yourself in a fight, it is important to use your
abilities wisely. You have a wide range of them, so know that each has its own advantage.
Yummy Catnip Frenzy is your
ult. It deals a fair amount of
damage and is a long stun. However, you won't be able to do anything while in use. It is almost like a stun to yourself also. This makes it very tricky. If you use this in 3v3 situations, you are making both you and your target vulnerable, you are putting the pressure on your laner to succeed. When you initiate with this
ability, most of the time you will get the short end of the stick. You are putting yourself out of position and making yourself vulnerable. You are doing little
damage and putting your
health at risk. As a result, it is better to save it. Use it when the enemy is out of position. Use it when you won't get hurt from it. Don't use it to initiate 3v3. Use your
damage dealers,
Pouncy Fun and
Twirly Death. If Taka starts running and tries to box out,
Yummy Catnip Frenzy might even cancel out this
ability and will allow for an easy kill. If you use it to initiate, he will just box out afterwards and you would be in danger. It takes experience to know when to use it during the game, but initiating with it is a waste. Use your
damage dealers first and then catch them out of position without putting yourself in the same danger.
