Hi Vainglorians, I'm FirebirdRS(IGN) and I play on the SEA server.
Taka is one of my favourite heroes and in my opinion the only TRUE assassin. What I mean by that is that in a MOBA, assassin heroes are meant to roam around the map looking for single targets to pick off and kill in a very short time. Taka's X-retsu is the one ability that makes him so dangerous. As he can burst down a squishy carry in an instant.
Taka needs a "TRUE" roam to reach his full potential as you are going to be very bad at farming early-mid game. He needs someone to do most of the damage to the jungle mobs as he is pretty bad. Late game you can farm by yourself without too much difficulty. I reccommend after hitting lvl 2-3 that you go up into lane to gank. But don't hang around after the gank, turrets aren't important right now. Farming is the most important thing for a CP taka. I reccommend an attempted gank every jungle clear after lvl 6 unless the enemy laner is being too cautious. Be aware of your surroundings, always be ready to kaku, be on high alert when kaku is on cool-down.
House Kamuha: Every 5 seconds, Taka's next basic attack is replaced with a Mortal Strike. Mortal Strikes deal 40 (+25% weapon ratio) bonus damage and grant Taka a burst of move speed. Whenever Taka Mortal Strikes or uses an ability, he gains a stack of Ki, which speeds up his Mortal Strike timer by 0.9 secs and grants 25% cooldown speed. (5 Ki stacks max.)
Kaiten: Taka flips over his target, cutting it with his switchblade. Taka is invulnerable to damage & damage while in mid-air.
As lookatme from TEAM SNOW wrote in his guide for WP Taka
here, kaiten is a very useful tool. However WP taka uses kaiten differently to CP Taka. WP taka uses Kaiten to dodge abilities rather than to do damage. Whereas CP taka uses kaiten primarily to do damage. If there is a dangerous ability that may require kaiten don't use it in your death combo. Other than that, you can use lookatme's guide to find out more about kaiten.
Kaku: Taka throws a smoke bomb at his feet, vanishing from enemy sight and gaining move speed. This illusion ends early if he strikes a target or he takes direct damage. Turrets, Scout Traps and Flare Guns will see Taka while invisible. This ability heals Taka while he is invisible.
This is CP taka's most useful asset as it allows you to gain massive amounts of health back. At overdrive it can heal 400 health over 4 seconds with no extra crystal power. I reccommend getting defense rather than health items as this will be more valuable. Fountain of renewal in particular is a very good item as you can activate it on low health and then kaku. This can regenerate extremely large amounts of health and is one of the reasons why CP taka is so powerful.
X-Retsu: Taka bursts through his target, carving an X with his switchblades for lethal damage. The target suffers a mortal wound, reducing its healing by 50% and taking damage per second over the next 3 seconds. Grants 3 stacks of Ki.
If kaku is your most useful asset, X-Retsu is your most dangerous one. It has multiple elements to it so i'll break them down one by one.
First of all the burst. The burst damage is what more often than not actually kills enemy heroes. Broken Myth is particularly useful with this ability as you can pierce the ennemy's shield and at full stacks it makes your ult that much more deadly.
Second, the bleed. The bleed is also very dangerous as it is probably one of the best DOT debuffs in the game apart from Skaarf. Attacking your target with basic attacks will keep the target bleeding and will do more damage than your basic attacks themselves(unless you built alternating current). I have had many dissappointing ganks turned into successful ones by the bleed on this ability.
Lastly, the mortal wound. Mortal wound reduces healing by 50%. This is what makes Taka very good against heroes such as Krul, Ozo, Adagio and Rona. As well as any other heroes who can make good use of lifesteal. Mortal wound will prevent heroes from healing so you can kill the more easily. Its pretty simple really.
Refles blocks: As of 1.16, Taka can now use reflex blocks to prevent himself from being pulled out of stealth from a damgage source. Reflex blocks won't always prevent you from taking damage but they will always prevent you from being pulled out of stealth. Reflex blocking requires a lot of skill but if you can do it consistently you will be much harder to kill and it will be easier for you to escape.
I've written down most of what i want to say about hero threats in their notes, but when i say a utility hero is dangerous i mean that they are dangerous because they reveal or stop you from doing damage. Also if they make you vunerable such as stunning, they are marked high.
The reason most heroes are ranked high on the threat meter is because taka isn't hard to kill if he doesn't play well. He is very squishy unless he builds defence which should only really be happening mid-late game.
I have only listed heroes below that are actually good with taka.
Ardan 8/10: Ardan can save your butt with his vanguard and help finish off enemies with blood for blood. His gauntlet also helps stop enemies from escaping.
Adagio 7/10: CP Adagio can give you a good heal but the magicsl runes that his abilites create are annoying when you are trying to kaku as the enemy can see them.
Catherine 8/10: Catherine is very good against heroes that require their abilities to do damage as she can silence and stun them.
Kestrel 9/10: Kestrel is very good as she brings massive burst damage as well as you can be stealth buddies.
Krul 7/10: Krul can help secure kills with his From hell's heart. He can also keep consistently damaging opponents while you X-Retsu in for the kill.
Joule 7/10: Joule's stun and Big Red Button can help lockdown and finish off kills. Her poke is also useful against enemy stealth heroes.
Skaarf 8/10: Skaarf is great with Taka as they can make an enemy bleed and burn simultaneously. His Dragon Breath is useful for catching up to opponents too.
