Ironguard is ABSOLUTELY YOUR FIRST ITEM NO MATTER WHAT. Ironguard gives Adagio that needed push to get all the items in this great build, and if you sell it early, you will be screwed. You have been warned.
Aftershock is the perfect tool for Adagio. It gives you energy recharge, faster cooldowns, and best of all, Crystal lifesteal that becomes more powerful the more you cast abilities; And trust me, you will be casting GOF and AOW quite a bit.
Travel Boots are self explanatory. You need that movement speed. Note: Journey Boots are pointless. Everyone should stop wasting 900 gold on those pointless pieces of ****.
AC delivers something Adagio needs- the ability to hold his own in lane. With increased attack and attack speed, Adagio is able to actually deal a rather large amount of money in a rather short amount of time. Consider taking AC first if you are your team's Sniper.
When playing support, your first priority is keeping allies alive, not screwing all of them over. This heal will sustain your team, and combined with your Gift of Fire, everyone on your team will be one big happy full-health family. :)
Crucible is best for those who wish to last a little longer. Its perfect for stopping powerful AOE attacks by your opponent, such as Death From Above, Verse of Judgement, and Big Red Button; As well as stopping your turret-diving teammate from killing himself. Consider taking Crucible earlier if you find yourself in need of damaging soaking power.
Clockwork is a great utility item for any support, and this rings even more true with Adagio. Clockwork can create some serious issues for the opposing team when they find you pumping out a Gift Of Fire every 3 seconds. Note: You will have to sell Ironguard Contract to use this item.
Cool Tricks to use:
1. Gift Of Fire
Gift of Fire is a great tool. However, most players do not know its true offensive power. If you find yourself being chased down by a really mean Taka, cast Gift of Fire on yourself. This will slow Taka enough for you to make your getaway. You can also cast it on a minion in lane to prevent that Ringo from making his way under a turret in time.
2. C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!
Almost every single Adagio I've faced off against has not matched up against me has not used this very simple combo- Cast Agent of Wrath on yourself. Then, cast Gift Of Fire and ignite your enemy. Now, hit your opponent as many times as possible. Due to some bonus effects that no one pays attention to, you will slow your enemy, force some intense DOT on them, and do about 2.5 times as much damage per hit. This is usually enough to eliminate any single enemy in the early game, and as your crystal power grows, so will the power of this combo.
3. Laning? Might as well be a bowling lane.
Laning made easy- Cast Gift of Fire on a minion near a large group of enemy minions and let the DOT do the rest. Now, move to your opponent's turret, cast Agent of Wrath on yourself and attack the turret. Rinse and Repeat for some severe lane-pushing power.
4. Always bring a buddy!
This in general applies to every hero, but with Adagio it applies even more. Do NOT be alone in the jungle late game. You will die horribly. Especially don't go to the jungle shop unless you are with someone else.
5. Stunningly brilliant!
Any enemies who are on fire do to Gift Of Fire will be STUNNED by Verse of Judgement, not just damaged! This stun is usually enough to guarantee the death of a few heroes who overextended too much. Also, if you are facing an Adagio, be weary of when they hit Level 6, 9, And 12. If you are on fire, you may need to be ready to back away quickly, as the stun is DEVASTATING.
