Introduction to Vainglory Top
This guide is for everyone as I have been playing with noobs recently and its very frustrating.
App Store Editors' Notes-
Fluid combat, spellbinding graphics, and an arresting blend of fantasy and sci-fi cement Vainglory as one of the finest multiplayer online battle arenas (MOBAs) around. Each character class offers a finely tuned balance of abilities to suit different play styles, whether you're taking down turrets, amassing gold or confronting the enemy head-on. Thanks to a slew of updates-from new characters and modes to a game-changing season structure-Vainglory has only gotten better since its release.

What they don't tell you is about the unfair matchmaking. Even though its based off your ELO and not your visual skill tier, most of the time you are matched with someone who AFKs, a general bad player (noobs), or someone that pings question marks so much they make you want to AFK (this last one is fixed in the new update). However, hopefully by reading this guide we can fix the last problem - being a noob.
Before you begin Top
Before you go ahead and assume - like most people when they begin playing - that you know exactly what you are doing, before you even think about playing you should watch all the videos in the academy section of the Vainglory home screen. You should also watch the spotlight for all the heres as well because they tell you what other hero is that heres weakness. When you just begin to play vainglory, don't try to be the leader, watch and learn from other people, try not to use pings unless you are replying to someone else. Next, before you start a casual match you should have played in practice mode with every hero (at least the ones you have unlocked). This means solo practice, then work your way up to where you can beat the bots on the hardest mode, and then gold rush (with Ringo obviously). Battle Royale is also great for practicing, but I won't talk about it much in this guide. If you think you are having trouble finding good teammates try playing with your friends in the party mode, then at the end of the match ask them to be brutally honest with you and tell you where you messed up. You may find YOU are the bad player. Not to worry as you will get better the more you play. That being said, go easy on others you find to be awful at the game.
*Note in this guide I will not be talking about the season or chests either.
Karma is how you've been rated by other players for things like afking rude pinging and etc. If you haven't done those two things you should be fine. DO NOT AFK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I say this because it will completely screw you over if you do. Just get through the match.
To level up faster you should join a guild and/or a team, this way you (hopefully) have good people to play with.
Also, another thing you want to do before you begin playing with others is to start a practice round open the shop and then read about and get an understanding of what all the items do this way you don't have to stop in the middle of a game trying to figure out your build or how to counter someone else's.
Your first game Top
As soon as you hit Battle Royale, Casual, or Ranked (if its really your first match you shouldn't be able to do ranked) you will be placed in the match making queue with people your ELO (this will be the same as your visual skill their the first season) and your karma level (which won't have been affected yet because its your fist match). Then, the screen where you can accept or deny the match will pop-up. Next a screen where you can pick your hero will show. After you pick your hero, click on the box with your hero in it and select if you want to lane, jungle, or roam, and if you want to weapon power, crystal power, or tank. Then you will be at the loading screen for the game. When the Game starts get your build starting items with your understanding of how shop items work (which you should know if you did what I said and watched the videos).
Leaving notes Top
This guide is significantly less complicated that the last one I made (and never finished) on Adagio and was a lot easier to make. It was inspired by a screenshot I saw with the guide I had for Adagio in an app on the App Store. That being said if you liked this guide, found it helpful, or agreed with anything I said please be sure to hit the thumbs up button.
