Introduction Top

Vox is a lane carry that can eliminate teams and is also very close to my heart. Over the 2 or 3 years I have been playing, he has been a consistent pick in my matches. I so the other day I asked myself, why do I play him so much? Its probably because he has the capability to wipe entire teams. To be honest, every time I see a weapon power vox, I get very confused because I don't understand why it is good but that is a story for another guide. Here is the guide for one of my favorite heroes in the game. Before I begin though I would like to point out this build, besides the alternating current damage,DOES NO SINGLE TARGET DAMAGE If you are someone who is used to a single target carry I would warn you, you might get frustrated, however, I have tested this guide, and with persistence and the willing ness to learn, you will be wiping teams in no time! On that note lets begin!

Laning phase Top

Vox is and should always be played as a laner. This is for multiple reasons as I will list:
-Good single target damage at the beginning
-Both a slow and a dash for early banking escapes
-multitarget damage at level one
-easy poking(resonance bounces)
-Pulse can check for enemies in the bushes

All of these make him an insane laner, allowing him to obtain an obscene amount of gold at the beginning, allowing him to get great items into the late game.

I would like to explain how do go about doing this the best way though. I will not try to act like it is something I have mastered either.

First, you are going to want to purchase both a swift shooter and a crystal bit. Some would recommend two crystal bits but buying the swift shooter instead of the second gets you that much closer to your alternating current, your first t3 item. You are also going to want to pick up a halcyon potion, just to stay healthy incase you get low or they try to gank you early. I cannot stress enough. Do not buy anything until you get you alternating current. This item is you bread and butter. It boosts your attack speed (more resonance bounces) and attack damage (they deal more damage) all in one item.

When you are in the lane, your first priority is to last hit. This will allow you to get your ac (Alternating Current) early and your other items. Second is to poke. This is not too difficult, all you have to do is attack the creep the enemy is closest to so resonance bounces to them. You do have to be careful though as you still want to focus on last hitting, and not pushing out your lane too far as vox is very easy to rank early game. You are going to want to continue doing this throughout the laning phase. One last thing I would like to add is if you do get the enemy laner low enough, do be afraid to try to kill him using sonic zoom and show some at him.

mid-game (End of laning phase) Top

I first want to clarify what I mean by the title. All I mean is when you or the other laner has either taken out your first turret, or theirs, it has reached about 10-15 minutes, or you have farmed your first two or three t3 items.

By now you should have an ac, travel boots, a broken myth, and maybe a t2 defensive item. At this point you deal ok single target damage, but your resonance bounces really either deal more, or the same amount of damage as your basic attacks. What you want to focus on heroes three things.

1, stil farming in the lane or jungle occasionally to keep getting that gold

2, if your team is going to get into to a team fight, be there. You have the most powerful team fight presence in the game.

3, make sure you are the last to engage so the enemies focus one your team mates, not you.

The rest of the game/teamfights Top

As a cp vox, your main two goals in team fights is to hit all three with your ult and to hit the support to bounce resonance to the carries. This is because your resonance bounces deal the most damage so you want to deal that damage to the carries and the carries have to stay close to the support so its pretty much guaranteed you will bounce to them.

I also quickly want to talk about item choices.

Frost burn is so you have even more team fight potential, as long as you are hitting someone, you are slowing the entire team. It also makes it easier to hit your second let.

Echo because it allows you to ult twice, dealing 800 nuke damage (Thats as much as a koshka ult) silencing them for over 1 second, and bouncing resonance twice, two times on each person, meaning each person gets hit with a resonance bounce 4 times, and if you throw a sonic zoom in at the end, it increases the count to 6 times. (This is assuming you hit a three man ultimate)

There are two situational item choices. A shatter glass and an eve of harvest. These both are to replace the frost burn if it is either more important to deal more damage in fights or to stay alive/ you keep getting killed in fights, than slow their team for your team.

Additionally, you are going to want to choose between the aegis and metal jacket if you didn't understand why they were both there.

If I haven't persuaded you yet to stop using weapon power or to use vox in general, think about it like this. At full build, ulting twice on the enemy team (assuming full broken myth stacks, echo usage, and three men caught inside) it deals roughly the same amount of damage as if you koshka ulted on the entire enemy team, 4 times.

Conclusion Top

I hope I have persuaded to at least try this hero with this build. He is one of my favorite heroes and is extremely fun to play as. He is extremely versatile item wise but with the right build (hopefully mine) he can wipe the entire team! I will try my best to keep this guide updated!

Play on!
