2
Skaarf You have Shiversteel, health, and a ton of damage. Skaarf is trouble to almost any hero before level 4; after that, Skaarf is but dead meat to this Glaive.
3
Catherine If you're low on health and Cath catches you - run. Otherwise, just save your skills of when her shield goes down. Use Shiversteel when the shield is down to increase amount of hits while pursuing.
3
Koshka Early game Koshka is a bit of challenge, as always. Mid- to late-game you eat her alive due to the slow & the damage. Once you get Pauldrons - it's game over since she can't even reduce ability cooldowns fast enough.
3
Ringo Ringo dead without Pauldrons thanks to crits, Ringo super dead after Pauldrons.
3
Taka Lack of shield can screw you up against a Taka will 5 Ki stacks. But if you use Pauldrons right away and flare before he boxes and remember to Shiversteel - Taka's dead. With Afterburn to either initiate or end a fight, Takas shouldn't be hard.
4
SAW Weapon saw can screw you up if he's fully spun up and tanky. Crystal saw will die easy if he misses one ability on you. Squishy saw is just everyday breakfast.
5
Joule This engagement will depend on Joule's use of ult, stun, and your defense against Crystal. In general - shouldn't be a big problem.
5
Krul Just like with Adagio, Krul engagement will depend on how tanky he goes. If it's a crystal/Foundain/Crucible Krul... ugh. But squishy Krul? Breakfast of champions. Again, once you get the Pauldrons, it's a huge help.
6
Adagio It really depends on how tanky the Adagio goes. If he has a fountain + Crucible - you'll probably die. Otherwise, you should be able to just DPS him down between the heals. He has slow, but Shiversteel wins that fight.
6
Petal Get in her face and you have a chance if you manage to not take all of the ult damage. Stay out of her face and you're dead.

What comp is this Glaive for? Top

This works best on a 3-DPS team, such as Ringo Petal Glaive or Adagio Petal Glaive. I've beat top NA teams with this build or a small variation of thereof (it replaced Catherine well).

Noob, why you no max Afterburn? Top

Maxing your Afterburn ability first is great for a full-support Glaive. This isn't that build. You want to max (or at least get to lvl 4 of) your Cleave ability so that you get crit chance without having to buy Tyrant's Monocle. Why? Because it lets you go straight for Sorrowblade. Lvl 5 cleave gives you 25% extra crit chance by level 8, and you get Sorrowblade soon after. Even if you buy Dragonheart around level 5 or 6, you'll still be dealing out very solid damage.

Here's the thing about Afterburn - most fights don't last 12 seconds. Especially if you can do damage. And at the start you job isn't to kill anyway - it's to damage them fast enough to make them run away so you can still their jungle farm.

Why Shiversteel? Why Battery? Top

If you have a teammate such as Petal who wants to get one - great, go for Crucible instead. Dragon heart gives you a ton of health quite early in the game, making you tanky. Shiversteel is just an OP item that many people undervalue. In the majority of engagements, someone runs away; Shiversteel is basically the best slow in the whole game.

Glaive uses a ton of energy. Afterburn costs half of all energy at level 1. Your Cleave and Afterburn hurt at lower levels, but only if you can actually use them :P Sell the battery after mid-game when you need space for flares or 6th item.

Why no Tension Bow? Top

You can... it just doesn't scale well since you only have a few slots for damage.

You have Pauldrons only. What about Crystal? Top

Obviously, Pauldrons are the default since a lot of high-level teams are weapon-powered these days or rely on attack speed. That said, if the enemy team is all-crystal - by all means, get Aegis instead.

Which final build? Top

I would heavily lean on the tanky/support side vs damage. Only get Tornado Trigger or another third offensive item if your team is tanky, you have Adagio and are doing fine, or you're winning heavily.

Have fun! Top

Remember that Glaive must farm hard to scale well. Don't waste time. You can get Dragonheart early or at mid-game - judge based on the situation. But after Dragonheart, rush Sorrowblade. Early-ish sorrowblade and leveling Cleave first are key to making this build work really well.
