item breakdown Top
Frostburn
u need the extra mana point and withought the slow, u wont be able to pursue for kills without the slow, this is always your first item.
Journey Boots
The added mobility is awesome, and the health is icing on the cake. Because u are squishy these are good, however not as essential asap in the lane.
Shatterglass
This is crystal heavy build, and well, that means shaterglass. Offensivley your minions will be tough as nails and take a beating (sorta). Defensivley, your life steal is insane and its still your main damage dealer.
Crucible
the health is important for a squishy, and you need that reflex block for rushing a saw, running from a saw, (really helps for saw), avoidning stun, and surving a burst from taka. this can be changed to an aegis if your feeling stingy or if the other team goes heavy crystal
Alternating Current
if you want your auto attack to do jack, then this is the item you need, plus frostburn slow
Eve of Harvest
The mana points are a bit redundant, but i spam the seeds ALL THE TIME and the crystal life steal boosts your survival through the roof
Fountain of Renewal
This is the item that helps you on long pushes, or long forest visits, and basically makes it so u don't have to go home. Also with this and crucible, you team will love you
Aftershock
because you are always planting seeds, the slice damage is always triggering, woohoo
Broken Myth
because you are building offensive you might be on low health often, so tada, broken myth will help u deal alt of damage.
Bonesaw
ok, so this is a bit unorthodox, but with frostburn slow, this works. build this item if the other team builds alot of defense (shield or armor) shield so you can go around that and hit physicly, and if they build armor then you can shred it for your team mates. still, really unorthidox and a vey niche situation.
Early game Top
SCATTER ALL THE SEEDS. Seriously, these are your lifeline. Also, if u have them lying around, u can replenish your pets. With the energy battery you should be good. The next item u get is the irongaurd contract for two reasons, the extra gold (duh) and cause u can and will cover/push in the lane, and u don't want to steal all your lanners gold. If the enemy team has a taka/koshka stay in your jungle, if not, feel free to be a little adventurous. Just try to farm as much as u can and be well on your way to frostburn by lvl 6.
Once u get frostburn Top
This is the game changer. Your pets deal crystal damage, so they will slow the enemy. This lets u catch up and wreck them. In WP builds, this is exploited by building stacks to shred their armor. In CP builds this is used to catch up to them so you're pets can keep dealing massive damage. Once u get frostburn is normally the first time I go to the lane. If u get a good flank, u and you're laner should be able to get a good jump on the enemy laner and push a turret. Start saving for boots, as they are you're life line as a squishy, you're best defenses are slow, range, and getting the hell outs there.
shaterglass and crucible Top
For the next two items, you have shaterglass and
Crucible. If you're team is really squishy get
Crucible first, but most of the time, i get shaterglass first. During this time, you will still be focused in the jungle, but i like to try to stay near the lane incase a good opportunity shows up. Just keep planting seeds and farming, but be aware of the enemy and the lane. You're last core item is tier 3 boots, however these can sometimes wait till your last item because they provide mostly defensive benefits
Which route to go Top
Th is part really depends on you're okay style so I'll break each down, then my favorite one
Offensive: if I go OffensI've I go AS and AC, they are the most crystal centric items, and with petals spam ability in seeds, u have unlimited AS boosts. AC helps with the slow and makes your neutral attack even better. Choose this if you're play style is more aggressive or if u have a Catherine teammate. If u go offensive, remember that u can wreck enemy heroes as long as u orb walk them, and don't let them get close.
The other two offensive items are more niche:
Bonesaw is like slapdash WP petal. Most of you're damage is coming from you're munions, but with bonesaw and AC u can get the 6 stacks pretty quick, and your neutral attack will hit hard, with ought sacrificing insane power from your munions, it also really helps out any WP on you're team.
Broken myth if you constantly have low health, this is for u. That crystal pierce stacks up and before long you will hit through it completely, however be careful with you're health
Defensive: this set focuses on keeping you alive- seriously, with seeds, boosted regain Crystal life steal and a shield you're really hard to kill. If you go defensive it's inportant to have lots of seeds for re spawning minions, and TO ALWAYS HAVE MUNIONS. This is hard to do in the lane, however, you will find this fairly easy in the jungle as long as u drop seeds frequently. With both frostburn and EOH, u will never run out of energy so u can spam all abilities. The real reason u have it is because 25% life steal is insane, so as long as u aren't hit with a big burst u will never die (hence the shield, to avoid burst). The FOR is there more as a support item, and to revive u between fights/ you're allies between fights. If you find the heal redundant and want more help against saw/ glave, you can go for an atlice pauldren instead
late game overview Top
Normally people thin that crystal petal is an early game character. This is only true to an extent. In the early-mid game she is an insane damage dealer, able to shred enemies in seconds. later in game it takes a little longer to kill enemies, you have to employ the orb walk a little bit more. Keep the enemy at a distance and you will be still be able to wreck enemies.
You're real strength late game is not dying, and not letting your teammates die (more suporty). This sounds a little lame, but its really true. Short of a taka burst that you couldn't shield or run from, theres nothing that will kill you. You will be brought to low health, however you will recover really shortly, and use your seeds to heal you're teammates.
This ability makes her very good on a final, but sustained push. she can keep the enemy corralled in their zone (by the third turret) by slowing them and killing them if they don't turn around and run back to their base. you can also put seeds everywhere so you don't have to return to your base.
On assasins Top
the only danger to you, u should be fine if you already have boots and a shield. however they can be very lethal if they know what their doing. my best advice is to shield, then hit them with munions (for the slow) then flee with boots. If its a koshka, you might want to save you're shield for her stun, cause if she misses that then you can kill her just because she has such low health.
ending thoughts Top
Petal is a versatile character. She can go into 2v1 and come out on top. She can heal her team like a support, then turn around and get the kill on a fleeing enemy. She can also get completely wrecked by basically anything.
here are some tips on how to not get wreked.
-plant seeds everywhere EVERYWHERE
-master the orb walk
-be aggressive in counter jungling, but have an escape path
-don't be afraid too flee and heal yourself.
-keep calm when being attacked
-in team fights target the damage dealer.
