Um SAW hurts way more than skaarf, unless at low elo. His suppressing fire will melt you and his shank will delete you from the game. Oh, and his ult hurts if he is spun up
Um I have a strategy with Rona that's similar that beats krul and any other hero I do 1v3's and win so check it out. If you go to my page you'll see my guide.
Great guide, I have been looking for a good weapon power Rona build and this works amazingly. I also like that you added a crystal side to this guide, I just might have to try it.
I've been trying wp Rona a bunch and just can't seem to do well with her. Just can't do enough damage it seems. I might need to try cp, but I feel like I need to get wp to work since I have her. Anyone able to help out?
I did a major overhaul on the guide. A lot of things were really outdated, but now everything should be up to date again. There seems to be a bug with the item section though, so I can't update the build. For example, on the crystal build, there's no defense item because I cannot add a kinetic shield to the build. You should really build some defense though. I hope that this bug will get fixed so I can update the build so that it matches the items in the item overview.
LOL, SAW is a bad hero? He is arguably the best hero in the game. If you farm properly and build correctly, he can get almost 10+ kills guarenteed a game. I would move the threat way up. :) Rona is relatively weak compared to SAW.
Saw is arguably the worst hero in Vainglory currently. His slow speed always gets him into trouble, especially combined with his squishyness and relatively bad range. He is easily countered by AP, stuns and burst damage. Crystal Saw is definitely a thread, but there are only a handful of actually good crystal Saw players.
Maybe in the lower tiers you can easily win with Saw, but from pretty good gold or higher you will have trouble winning games as him. Rona is waaaaaay better than Saw. just look at the higher level of play, you will see Rona way more often than Saw.
ive spent 5 min trying to find a large mistake in your build but came up empty handed. Great Job.
i like how you added in quite a few defensive items in the build. that was smart cuz it helps build of breaking point stacks. Is a a build even a Krul would respect
Thanks^.^
Defense is indeed very important on Rona. Between her damage reduction from her A and the defense gain while using Red Mist, Rona is really tanky. That's the main reason why lifesteal and breaking point are so good on her (in the current meta). She's like Krul with AoE and a way better damage output.
I just updated for 1.9 and I realized that I have been incredibly stupid. Since 1.8 Rona doesn't gain extra in-combat bloodrage from max energy and energy regeneration, so clockwork is really gold-inefficient actually. So I changed the weapon build AGAIN, and replaced clockwork with an extra serpent mask. Aftershock, bonesaw, breaking point or just a blazing salvo are still viable options though, and clockwork still provides very nice cooldown reduction. Find out what items fits you best yourself. Have fun splitting heads open and crossing donkey bridges!
Thank you very much.
Crystal Rona is all about burst, and Red Mist doesn't really contribute to that. The second hit from Foesplitter deals much more burst damgage, so you are usually better off using your bloodrage for that instead of the ultimate. Some players might even skip out on the ultimate entirely until they reach level eleven. Red mist is still useful against clustered enemies, or for objectives, but assassinating the most lethal enemy is the main priority for crystal builds.
Perfect, clear explanation, I totally get it. Thanks much!
Great guide! Have had much success with the weapon build. I'm gonna try the Crystal build, but had a question:
"Don't get a third point for this ability (Red Mist) when using crystal builds."
Why not? Isn't the Crystal build as dependent on RM as the weapon build? Better to have maxed 1 and 2?c
Thanks again for a great guide!
