Introduction Top
The focus of this guide is to provide a detailed explanation on what I believe to be a solid build for Taka, not only damage wise but also in terms of accessibility. It’s not meant to be an exhaustive guide and presumes that the player generally understands how Taka should be played. So without further ado, let’s get right into it!
Pre-Amble Top
One thing I noticed about Taka is that he is very dependent on his item build. The chances of under-performing with Taka is higher than many other heroes if you don't select your shop items right, in my experience. Because of the hit-and-run play style of Taka, it's really important that you maximize his burst damage capabilities or you might find yourself having a difficult time taking down enemy heroes, especially during the late phases of the match when players are beginning to max out their builds.
The Build Top
Part 1 : Bringing the Tension Top
This is technically not a pure CP build, as you'd start off with rushing
Tension Bow. The reason for this is that it provides decent burst early on in the match, but becomes less powerful later on when health pools are larger and defensive items are maxed out. So towards the latter end of the match you'd want to sell it off and pick up that second
Shatterglass.
Starting Items
Next, I would recommend picking up
Sprint Boots and
Six Sins, then
Piercing Spear and finishing off with
Tension Bow.
Part 2 : Shock and Awe Top
After getting
Tension Bow, it's time to start building CP.
Tree 1
Tree 2
What you want to do is alternate between the two trees with each successive purchase, prioritizing cooldown reduction (buy
Hourglass first).
Finish with
Aftershock.
Part 3 : The Shattering Top
Now it's time to ramp it up.
Tree 1
Tree 2
You'd want to do the same thing here, alternating between trees but prioritizing cooldown reduction.
The moment you get
Clockwork is when you'd want to sell
Tension Bow, finish up Tree 2 with
Shatterglass and immediately go to filling up the next profession with another
Eclipse Prism and eventual
Shatterglass.
The last spot can go to a defense item of your choice, depending on the situation. Generally, I prefer
Crucible as it gives the nice health boost and team reflex block, which is fantastic and in my opinion the most useful. Upgrade your boots as needed, with
Journey Boots being your last upgrade.
Let me know what you guys think, this is actually my first guide and any feedback is greatly appreciated.
