is a tanky semi carry who is not the most popular jungler this meta but still a menacing option. Despite having very high health he is usually squishy due to the lack of a HP barrier/fortified health unlike the other popular meta heroes. It is recommended to play glaive in the lane, get farmed and snowball the game since he is quite strong early to mid game.
1. Afterburn
This is Glaive's signature ability and the reason why he is viable despite of there being heroes better than him. Afterburn should be used in synergy with other hero abilities for maximum efficiency and as a flight or fight ability. It can save the lives of your fellow team fights too
2.Twisted Stroke
This is what makes glaive a crit scaling monster.
Its active is a very useful skill early game but what really shines here is the passive. At overdrive this ability gives u 25percent crit chance for free which means 1 out of your every 4 attacks will be a crit. It also synergizes with glaives heroic perk which allows him to do massive aoe damage with basic attacks
3.Blood song
Glaives ultimate has a very short CD and does decent damage in a 6m circle when activated but I recommend to not use this active since the passive is far more valuable. 20 stacks of this passive gives glaive 15 percent lifesteal which is a lot since it is free after all.
This build is popularly known as the Amputator build since it his focused on snowballing the game early and is used frequently in higher tiers.
STARTERS
Start with a swift shooter + 2 pots if jungle or book of eulogies + 2 flares if lane. Sell the BoE at around 7 mins when u get the blood song lifesteal.
FIRST T3 ITEM
Rush Tension Bow along with t1 boots and defences since Tension Bow is the best item for snowballing.
SECOND T3 ITEM
Get Fountain of renewal after the tension bow if enemy is a DPS hero or keep the oakheart and t2 shield for later. If enemy is tanky/has a lot of sustain, build Sorrowblade as the second item.
THIRD T3 ITEM
If u had built Fountain as your second item, then build a Sorrowblade now or if u had already built Sorrowblade go for a defensive choice like aegis for countering burst carries
FOURTH T3 ITEM
Get a Breaking Point since Breaking point shines the best mid-game after the 1.14 changes.Breaking Point scales very well with glaives aoe crit chance.
FIFTH T3 ITEM
If enemy is squishy and has a kit that benefits kiting then go for a Shiversteel or if the enemy is aa heavy DPS based hero like Saw/ BrokenFeather/ Glaive then build Atlas Pauldron
COUNTER PICK
If enemy just has a Atlas Pauldron then keep the tension bow since it gives flat piercing and atlas doesn't provide much stats. Bonesaw would be useless in this case since the attack speed won't be effective. If enemy has a Metal Jacket , then go for a Bonesaw since Metal Jacket provides sheer defensive stats without any active.
