Journey Boots- The boots help you move around quicker, give you more health, and catch up to fleeing enemies; also they are good for making a clean getaway, which is crucial for Krul.
Shiversteel- Krul has a problem with sticking to enemy heroes, but shiversteel fixes that problem and stops anybody in their tracks, and allows you to get lots of basic attacks in for Spectral Smite(maybe not Taka or Joule), but everybody else.
Breaking Point- Krul can last a very long time in teamfights(especially if he is not the center of attention), which gives him time to build up stacks; if you can get the BP stacks to 8 or higher your golden in a team fight.
Fountain of Renewal- This is my favorite defensive item, it gives you health, shield, armor, and you can heal your teammates, and in teamfights that's crucial, but make sure you use it when you and you're teammates health is low so you get the most out of it.
Bonesaw- This weapon gives you some WP and alot of attack speed, and for heroes with high armor like Joule, it shreds their armor; also it helps your teammates who are doing a decent amount of weapon power to do extra damage to your target.
Aftershock- Krul has some amazing abilities, so wouldn't you want to use those abilities more often and make them a little stronger at the same time, Aftershock is your answer.
With many people use their as soon as they have full stacks, which is not the way to go if you know you have a good amount of health. most people dont take advantage of the fact that for each stack of an enemy has, krul gets more lifesteal on his basic attacks and their crystal power is weakened by 10% for each stack, so don't pop that right away unless you need the health, or you know you can secure the kill. The main goal is to stay alive long enough for your stacks to build up, then you really dont have to worry about dying, but remember that you need to be attacking an enemy hero for the stacks too go up each second. If they try to run that's when you use to stop them and kill them.
pick up a and 2 , after this make your way to the furthest jungle camp on your jungle(to make sure the enemy team doesn't take your farm), if your double jungling and your teammate has , let him tank the damgage and you get the last hit for the extra gold, and your teammate gets health back, win win. After this get a and a , and if you have enough money get a second , then work to get your to stick to enemies. make sure you farm like crazy early game and make good use of his heroic perk . Gank when possible, and make very good use of your .Hide in the bush and wait for slow then activate your , and then use , then keep basic attacking then for the kill. Also you should get the after the starting items
At this point you should still be farming, but still being available to your team when they need you. Also you should have and if you have farmed enough you should have your , and if not fairly close to it; this item will help you survive in long teamfights and contributing to most of your damage. has 100% WP ratio, so if you can get your stacks up your will really hit had and keep you alive. If you're doing well and not dying too much go ahead and pick up a , especially if the other heroes on your team are using weapon power. also helps rev up your attack speed which makes studder stepping even more useful because you will be getting so many basic attack in, which contribute to your stacks. If your not doing so hot then go ahead a pick up a , it gives you a good amount of armor, shield, and the ability to heal your teammates when their low on health.
In those late game teamfights try not to be the center of attention, works best with tanks like , , and he works really well with . Focus the squishy heroes, or the ones doing the most damage, use to make sure you net the kill(most of the time their the same hero like , she's really squishy but she does alot of damage). Be sure to heal your team with if your teams health gets to low.
