Joule As long as you sidestep her skills and ult, which is a simple matter due to the red outline that appears during casting, a Joule by herself in the jungle is just Taka food. The only annoying thing is her stun, but that's easily sidestepped as well. If you get locked down by a Joule due to being stomped on, all I can say is.. that circle thing even has "WARNING! WARNING!" written all over it. Get out of there!
3
Ringo Ringo is not too much of a threat to Taka in early game as he'll be mostly staying in lane, but should a teamfight occur, focus this guy first. If he runs away with more than 15% health, don't chase, because he's got speed over you unless you have boots. Instead, go back to where your teammates are duking it out and help them 3v2 the enemy. If that Ringo pokes his head back into the teamfight, hit him a few more times, then run back. Or, you know, you could just kill him.
3
Skaarf Skaarf is just Taka food until level 6 when he gets his ult. If his ult is giving you trouble, just get a reflex block for it. Remember, you can flip over him using your 1 and 3. Make him spout flames unto empty air. If you see him pushing back your laner to your turret, go ahead and give him a free trip to base.
3
Adagio Like Ringo, this guy will also be mostly in lane. Beware of his fire as its ticks will reveal you to him as you run away. However, he is fairly easy to kill when ulting at less than 50% hp, as he is 1) stationary and 2) the ult is dodged if you time kaiten or ult correctly.
4
Celeste Stuns are always a big problem for Taka, so as long as you don't get surrounded, this melee mage won't be too much of a threat. Just be sure not to take her entire ult to your face. With her ult down, she's just Taka food. Late game, her threat level rises as she builds cooldown, so try to crush her early on.
4
Vox They say he's a Taka counter, but in terms of skills, he's like a Catherine without a stun on her Merciless Pursuit, with 50% less health, and no shield. Annoying? Definitely. Deadly in a 1v1? No way!Squishy? Of course! Taka food? With proper caution, yes! So, if you see this guy overextending in lane, put him back in his place. If you see him alone in the jungle, make sure there's no ambush in the bushes, then go for the kill.
5
Petal A well-fed Petal with her ult up is a huge problem, but if you notice she's not getting many kills or assists and/or her ult is down, her pets aren't going to be able to hit you before you burst this squishy down. Although, you could always try to Reflex Block it. And do not, I repeat, DO NOT cluster together with your teammates. She will ult and take out 70% of all of your hps.
5
Fortress Prepare yourself for a deep early jungle invade. Fortress can be played aggressively or defensively. If you notice that he is building defense, IGNORE him, focus on that squishy teammate behind him. He has no way to stop you, and the only bad thing about him is that the wolves he summon tend to crowd up the screen and you end up accidentally x-retsuing them. If he is building aggressively, he may be a bit more of a pain to deal with. Think of him as a slightly more durable Koshka, without her stunning ult.
6
Koshka It all depends on who initiates first, really. Make sure to save your Kaiten for her Twirly Death, but avoid sustained fights unless she has low mana as her cooldown exceeds yours. If she's smart, she'll most likely be focusing you, so be careful of that stun as well. Otherwise, this squishy, when underfed, makes a nice Taka snack.
6
Ardan Only annoying thing about this guy is his health and his tendency to prevent you from getting that kill. Otherwise, he doesn't have many disruption ablilities to be afraid of. However, if he manages to get you into a 1v3 with his ultimate, you're toast. Your best chance of survival is to run into that wall before his teammates get to you, then kaku away.
6
Krul If you can burst him down fast enough, you should be fine, but if you notice the skull stacks stacking up, use your Kaku and run AWAY from him if you don't have much mana/less than 10% health/he has more than 50% health, or TOWARD his jungle to ambush him after stacks expire if he has less than 50% health. Beware of the ult as he will try to stop you from escaping by stunning you, then subsequently killing you.
7
SAW Don't run straight toward a low-health SAW when his Suppressing Fire is up. Sidestep it, THEN burst him down. A good SAW can ult while running away (stagger step), so be careful of that as well. Slow as he is, if you can burst him fast enough he won't have enough time for a Roadie Run. If he does successfully run away, he usually stays in lane with low health, so hide in the bush and feel free to tower dive if you have your ult and Kaku available.
7
Taka Your worst enemy is often yourself. Avoid getting into a sustained fight with a weapon power Taka. If you hear him Kaku, be sure to Kaku as well, so that he can't initiate on you and if he initiates on a teammate, you can counterinitiate. Whoever initiates first or uses their skills to evade the most damage will be the one who comes out alive. Save your potions early game for a possible skirmish with Taka. May the best Taka win.
8
Glaive That knockback and stun is a problem, but Glaive is meh by himself. His health makes him an annoyance to burst down, so focus the squishies first. If the squishies are hiding behind this guy, reduce his health a bit to teach him a lesson. Lategame, though, he becomes more dangerous.
9
Catherine By herself, Catherine is not much of a threat, but a good Catherine is almost never by herself. Beware as her stun will lock you down long enough for that squishy you were eyeing to kill you.

Introduction Top

Taka is a squishy burst assassin that can often be completely locked down by stuns and slows. Luckily, he has some of the best gap-closing and chase abilities ingame.

When playing Taka, you should aim to get as many kills in early game and mid game as possible to bury them under your better-funded build. By lategame, the enemy team will either
a) realize that you are squishy and focus you;
b) realize that they shouldn't run away from you as they actually have a decent chance of killing you if they stopped to hit you a few times; or
c) realize that you're bad with teamfights and focus you immediately when one happens.

A good enemy team will begin focusing you from the start. If your teammates question your capability as a Taka, remind them politely that if they had 3 people attacking them at the same time, they'd most likely die as well. If you have the privilege of playing with friends, it's a good idea to have a Taka/Ardan or a Taka/Catherine jungle duo to keep you alive and fed.

Items Top

Tension Bow + 2 Halcyon Potions is pretty much a given as first items for Taka builds.

Hybrid Burst:
Shatterglass: More damage to your abilities so you can tear through your opposition.
Aftershock: Gives you *that* much more burst midgame. Why build this one after Shatterglass? Well, seeing as the high-HP heroes really don't bulk up too much in HP until mid- to late- game, and the low-HP heroes have low HP anyway, building Shatterglass before Aftershock actually helps more early to mid midgame (around level 5-7).
Tyrant's Monocle: Crits! Alternatively, you could replace this with Broken Myth, if you last more than 8-10 seconds in teamfights (given ability cooldowns + stacking time).
Lategame, you can build:
Clockwork if you are constantly out of mana or your ability cooldowns are too long to be effective in teamfights;
Shatterglass for more ability damage;
Alternating Current combined with Tension Bow(instead of Tyrant's Monocle) for doing more damage on basics; or
build some weapon power, although the alternating current + tension bow setup is probably better if you want more basic attack damage output.

Weapon Power:
Sorrowblade: This, like the Shatterglass in the Hybrid Burst build, will help immensely from early to mid midgame. As your enemies start gaining armor in late midgame, you'll need...
Bonesaw: for that extra attack speed and armor pierce late midgame and early lategame. Then-
Sorrowblade: again for that +150 weapon power. However, if you notice that in a 1v1 you're lifestealing less than you'd like, you could replace Sorrowblade with Tyrant's Monocle, or build that as an endgame item.
Lategame, you can build:
Tyrant's Monocle (if you haven't already) for those healing crits;
Tornado Trigger for more attacks, and consequently, more crits and more basic attacks
Another Sorrowblade (if you only have 1) to crush the opposition under the power of staring at your screen as you autotarget and kill everything; or
Clockwork build some cooldown for better chase and skill-dodging potential.

Best and Worst Team Compositions Top

Ideally, you want these team compositions:

Taka + SAW + Ardan(Jungle):
Hard hitting, high chase potential both in jungle and lane. Good sustain.
SAW is probably one of the strongest early game laners, and won't require your assistance too much, leaving you in peace to farm and level up rapidly. In teamfights and in lane, his slow gives you the perfect opportunity to gank/ hit people multiple times without them running too much. However, if a person caught in SAW's Suppressing Fire looks like they'll die to it, don't steal his kill. He needs the food, too.
Taka + SAW + Ardan(Lane/Roam- this usually happens when enemy team has 2 laners, one of which is also a SAW):
Hard hitting, good chase potential in lane, less in jungle. Good sustain in lane and in teamfights. Be careful alone in the jungle, though.
Less ideal, but you'll do fine. Ardan can still assist you in teamfights, and SAW probably needs the help anyway. The enemy team will likely only have 1 jungler, and if that 1 jungler doesn't get the first kill, you should be able to dominate the jungle.
Taka + SAW/Other Laner + Catherine(Jungle):
Good chase, good teamfight potential.
If you're low on health don't run away too far as it's likely that Catherine is planning to stun someone and needs your help taking them down.

If your team is something like this, it should be fine, but it's not ideal, especially if you're facing a team with a lot of stuns/slows:
Taka + SAW/Other Laner + Catherine(Lane/Roam):
Honestly, proceed as normal. She won't affect you too much as she's too busy stunning people in lane. A Catherine mostly staying in lane usually means there's only 1 jungler on the opposite team, so as long as you be careful and use skills to dodge damage, you should be fine.
Taka + SAW/Other Laner + Krul:
Good at sustained (see: ~10 second) teamfights, mediocre chase. Okay teamfight potential since there's a low amount of slows/stuns.
If the laner is squishy (see: Ringo) it's likely that they'll have to suffer through a few deaths since they don't have any support. You'll have to take some time out of your jungling to help them in lane, though.
Taka + SAW/Other Laner + Koshka:
You two'll be fine as long as you're the ones chasing. However, if the enemy team has a stun, and one of you gets caught up in it, you're likely dead fox meat either from a) getting caught in it b) Koshka getting caught in it, you attempting to help, then dying because burst not high enough against 2 people without her or c) running away to save yourself, then getting killed by the sarcastic thumbs-ups and sadface x 2s from your teammate.

Avoid choosing Taka if your team is:
Taka + Petal + Ringo:
Gahhh no stuns, a mediocre slow, squishiness all around. Just... don't. So unless you're willing to possibly face a team with actual teamfight potential (which, by the way, Taka+Petal+Ringo don't, do NOT lock in as Taka. The only way to save your team if the Petal and Ringo autolocked is if you choose Glaive, although Krul could possibly work as well.

[more to be added as I encounter good/horrible team comps]
