The main problem I have with this build is that there are better carried in the game rather than Ardan, due to their skillset and scaling, so I just don't see a reason to use it over another tanks carry like Krul
I usually build tanky support myself, But I have seen ardens I go against do well building offensive. It makes me think I am doing something wrong not building offensive during certain situations or something.
I disagree with this build pretty much entirely. Ardan shouldn't really be aggressive unless he has a lot of health. Sure this build may work in certain scenarios, but more often than not, it will result in the death of your true damage dealers, your carry and jungler, because your shield does little more than offer a speed boost late game. The lack of IG contract, harshly kills your ability to earn gold, as well as the following stormguard banner limits his ability to help push turrets. Ardan can get plenty of kills without being offensive, you just have to be able to pursue, so shiversteel or even Frostburn fit him better. Additionally, your build relies heavily on the gauntlet, which has a rather large cool down, which this build does almost nothing to remedy.
i agree, and i always use defense items for ardan for himself and the team but this guide is just another guide for an offensive ardan and it is also really effective yet he might die from a suprise attack with similar damage unless shiversteel might help ardan stay alive but that might not or will be enough since ardan mainly has high damage rate
In my experience with ardan, he can actually be one of the hardest hitting heroes (even though i mainly build hybrid, but i might try an AP/AD ardan for dun xD
A few thoughts on this build after several games as Ardan...
Very interesting because it's a purely offensive Ardan with support capabilities -
However, you'd need another tank player on your team to take damage since Ardan is very crunchy in this build. That said, a pure weapon speed-based Adagio with Tension Bow or Saw with armor, Sorrowblade + life steal can kill this Ardan quite easily in a 1on1 situation. In my last game, the opposing team had both and I didn't manage to get a single kill :(
However, I got 10 kills 2 deaths with this build against a Ringo + Cathrine team...
Also it's very difficult to get the entire build completed when you're not the only jungler on the team. The most I've gotten are Breaking point, Bonesaw, Journey Boots + Shiversteel, and this makes one crunchy Ardan. By this time, the enemy has already figured it out and will try to take you down first. I think a more substantial Ardan would be a combination of Armor + Weapons Speed, or maybe Tension Bow to boost burst damage.
