2 rules:
1. Buy a
Shiversteel and
Travel Boots.
2. focus on having a diverse attack (red & blue).
The reason for the simplicity of this build is that the best builds are made in real-time, not by following pre-planned instructions. Petal's potential can only be fully realized when both her basic attack and munion abilities are given power. This is the reason for the diverse, red & blue attack items. More important than this, however, is the ability to react to both your teammates and your opponents builds, buying items that compliment and disrupt them respectively.
#1: Don't use yay, pets! until mid-game.
You may have noticed the unconventional skill upgrade path above. When I play, I tend to not use yay, pets! until mid-game, focusing instead on farming with only my basic. This strategy accomplishes several tasks: saves energy, provides a handy Bramblethorn Seed healing station under the turret, keeps the lane minions at a safe and manageable location, and, most importantly, it prevents your lane opponent from collecting gold off of your pets (this is especially important when playing a
SAW).
#2: Use your Bramblethorn seed as a recharge station early game
I touched on this briefly in #1. plant a stack of 3-5 bramblethorn seed on the north side of your turret. When coupled with good basic spacing, this can save you from having to return to base throughout the early game.
#3: Buy a weapon blade first
Because you wont be relying on yay, pets! until mid-game, it is important to invest in Petal's basic in the early-game. This will make it much easier to farm lane minions (especially if you can buy a swift-shooter to go along with it.)
#4: Leave one spot free late game for crystal/weapon infusion.
This can be the difference in those late-game, match-deciding bouts.
