I never overdrive the A, simply because the barrier scales with the amount of health you have. I agree with the fact that an aegis is rather selfish, but isn't completely useless. I'd get one for myself only if i have run out of options. As a roamer, i think it would be better to buy flares more than an actual flare gun. Shiversteel is not my personal favourite, as all three abilities are gap closers, and i only buy it if my teammates suck at chasing. Stormcrown is actually my favourite item on Ardan, as his Blood for Blood combo allows him to shred through objectives like a boss. i get this fourth if my team is steamrolling.
